Google is set to release its new Pixel phones a couple of months earlier than usual, thanks to Samsung leaving the August slot open for big announcements.
So, mark your calendars for August 13th. We’re expecting at least three new Pixel models: Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
The Pixel 9 Pro Fold will be Google’s second foldable phone.
The first Pixel Fold launched last summer and was well-received, particularly for its wide external screen and slim design compared to the Galaxy Z Fold.
The Pixel 9 Pro isn’t much of a secret anymore due to numerous leaks, but it’s still exciting.
Adding to the leaks, a new promotional video recently appeared on social media, showcasing Google’s vision for an AI-driven future with the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro.
In a post by X (previously known as Twitter) user @MysteryLupin, this 40-second clip highlights the phones’ AI capabilities and “Pro-level” camera features.

One standout feature is “Add Me,” which allows you to insert yourself into existing photos, using the superior rear cameras instead of the front-facing one.
The video doesn’t reveal much else, but the same leaker “Arsène Lupin” on X also shared high-resolution product images a day earlier, giving us a closer look at the new devices.

Here are the images shared:
As per another leak circulating in the media reports, the Pixel 9 Pro will start at $999.99 with a T-Mobile plan in the US market.
Although we can’t be certain, this price list may have originated from T-Mobile sources.
As for the Pixel 9 Pro XL, it will go for $1,199 with 256GB of storage or maybe $1,199 for 512GB.
The leaked price list image (shared above) has both options, making it all rather confusing.
Evan Blass (@evleaks) shared official-looking renders for the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL showing us the upcoming devices with some comparison shots that show the size difference between them.
From the images shared we could see Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL will feature an evident height difference with the 9 Pro rumored to feature a 6.34-inch OLED display & the 9 Pro XL is anticipated to feature a 6.73-inch panel.
Both phones seem to have similarly sized bezels & centered punch hole cutouts for the rumored 50MP selfie shooters.
From the images we can also see the different colors options for both phones – Rose, Porcelain (white), Green and Obsidian (black) for the Pixel 9 and Obsidian, Porcelain, Rose, and Hazel (green) for the Pixel 9 Pro.
Except the Color’s we also see the different finishes for both phones .
Pixel 9 shows an anodized aluminum frame & the 9 Pro/9 Pro XL seems to have a shiny stainless steel finish.
Rumours suggest it will have a 6.3-inch display with a 17.5:9 aspect ratio, reminiscent of the 16:9 screens from the past.
It will be made of metal, and while there’s no word on it being lighter, we hope the hinge design improves, allowing the phone to lay flat.
It should maintain its IPX8 water resistance, with hopes that Google might match Samsung’s particle protection in the Galaxy Z Fold 6.
The back of the Pixel 9 Pro Fold will feature a new square-shaped camera bar, as teased by Google.
Expected colours for the Pixel 9 Pro Fold include Hazel, Obsidian, Porcelain, and Rose.
When opened, the phone will reveal a new 8.03-inch display with a 6:5 aspect ratio, larger than last year’s 7.6-inch screen.
It will be an OLED panel with a 120 Hz refresh rate, matched by a 120 Hz OLED cover display on the outside.
Peak brightness should be around 1,450 nits.
Camera-wise, rumours point to a 64 MP main sensor, a 10.5 MP telephoto camera, and a 12 MP ultra-wide camera.
Details on the selfie cameras are still unclear, but we expect one on both the cover and main display.
There’s some confusion regarding the battery.
The Pixel 9 Pro Fold is expected to be larger, but the battery might be slightly smaller at 4,560 mAh compared to the previous 4,821 mAh.
Charging speeds are expected to remain the same with 30 W wired and 15 W wireless.
It’s still uncertain if it will support Qi2 with a magnetic ring.
Overall, the new Pixels promise to bring exciting updates and features, especially for fans of foldable phones and advanced camera technology.
