We earlier reported that Samsung fans might have to wait a bit longer for the Galaxy S25 Edge as the launch date has reportedly been pushed back. While an initial report pointed to an April 15 unveiling, a new SamMobile report now suggests that Samsung is now planning to reveal the device on May 13. Here’s what we know so far.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Delayed for “Technical Reasons”

The new launch timeline lines up with reports from ET News and WinFuture, which claim the delay was a last-minute decision. Citing sources close to Samsung, WinFuture notes that the shift happened due to “technical reasons” that “make further testing necessary.”

It’s unclear exactly what those issues are, but it sounds more serious than initially reported. Still, reports from Korea make it clear that the delay wasn’t due to “quality” issues, which should be somewhat reassuring.

Instead of a big global launch event, Samsung is reportedly opting for an online-only presentation, which might vary by region.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge – Leaked Specs and Features

A leaked image shared by tipster CID on X (formerly Twitter) has given us a good look at what to expect from the Galaxy S25 Edge in terms of hardware and design.

Based on leak, here’s what is expected –

  • Display: A 6-inch 2K AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and an in-display fingerprint sensor.
  • Build: Just 84mm thick and weighing 162 grams, it could be one of Samsung’s thinnest phones yet. The phone is said to feature a titanium alloy frame and IP68 water and dust resistance.
  • Cameras: A 200MP main sensor with OIS, a 12MP ultra-wide and a 10MP front camera for selfies.
  • Software: Android 15 with One UI 7, along with 7 years of Android OS and security updates, matching Samsung’s flagship update policy.
  • Performance: Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, paired with 12GB RAM and up to 512GB of storage.
  • Battery: A 3,900mAh unit with support for 25W wired fast charging.

The Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to come in two storage configurations, which are 12GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB.

As for the colour options, the phone might be available in Titanium Silver, Titanium Jetblack and Titanium Icyblue.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge – Pricing (Expected)

According to WinFuture report, the Galaxy S25 Edge will be priced at €1,249 for the 12GB/256GB model and €1,369 for the 12GB/512GB variant in Germany. Prices in Spain and Italy may be €10 higher.

For context, that pricing places the S25 Edge squarely between the Galaxy S25+ (€1,149) and the S25 Ultra (€1,349). If Samsung follows the same logic for the U.S. market, we could see the Galaxy S25 Edge launch at around $1,149, right between the $999 and $1,299 price tags of its siblings.

Google Pixel 10 Camera Specs Leaked – Details Of A Telephoto Upgrade Revealed

0

  • The base Pixel 10 will reportedly introduce a telephoto lens for the first time.

  • The Pixel Pro models won’t see major hardware changes, relying on the new Tensor G5 chip and improved image processing.
  • The series is expected to launch later this year.

As the launch of the Google Pixel 10 series gets closer, more leaks are surfacing and this time, it’s all about the camera hardware. A new report from Android Authority based on internal Google documents reveals some big changes coming to the Pixel 10 lineup.

Telephoto Comes to the Base Pixel 10

image

Caption – Pixel 10 Series camera details leaked. (Image credit – Android Authority)

Since the Pixel 6, Google has stuck to a simple camera strategy where the regular models get wide and ultrawide lenses. While the Pro versions also include a telephoto camera. But this year, Google is shaking things up.

For the first time, the base Pixel 10 will come with a dedicated telephoto lens, similar to what you’d find on the Pro models.

Sounds like a win, right? Well, there’s a catch.

Pixel 10 Gets a Telephoto Lens, But With Downgrades

While the Pixel 10 is getting a third camera, the overall setup is actually less powerful than what we’ve seen on previous base models. In fact, some of the sensors are more in line with what’s used in the more affordable Pixel 9a.

The main camera sensor has been swapped from the GNV to the Samsung GN8, which is a smaller sensor. This generally means it may not perform as well, especially in low-light situations. The ultrawide camera is also a downgrade, now using the Sony IMX712 instead of the more advanced IMX858, a sensor previously seen on the Pixel 9a.

The telephoto lens itself is the 11MP Samsung 3J1, which was also used in the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. And as for the selfie camera, it remains unchanged from last year.

Pixel 10 Pro Models – No Hardware Changes Expected

While the base Pixel 10 is getting a near-total camera overhaul, the Pro models are expected to stick with the same hardware as last year. Google is likely hoping that the new Tensor G5 chip, along with updated algorithms and image processing, will bring better results without needing new sensors.

The Pixel 10 Pro Fold will also have only a minor change, replacing the primary Sony IMX787 sensor with the Samsung GN8, just like the base Pixel 10.

Last year, Google started creating a bigger gap between its base and Pro Pixel phones, and the Pixel 10 series continues that trend. While it’s great to see the addition of a telephoto lens on the regular Pixel 10, the downgrades in the primary and ultrawide cameras might leave some users disappointed.

These compromises were likely made to balance the cost of adding an extra lens and maybe even to free up space in the phone. But depending on the final price tag, the trade-off might not be worth it. If Google sticks to the same $799 price as last year, the Pixel 10 could end up being a tougher sell compared to the Pixel 9a, especially for those who just want a reliable camera experience.

The Pixel 10 series is expected to launch later this year, so we won’t have to wait too long to see how it all pans out.

FAQs

Q1. What is the key camera upgrade in the base Pixel 10?

Answer. For the first time, the base Pixel 10 includes a dedicated telephoto lens, a feature previously reserved for Pro models.

Q2. Are there any changes to the Pixel 10 Pro camera hardware?

Answer. No, the Pixel 10 Pro models are expected to retain the same camera hardware as last year, relying instead on the new Tensor G5 chip for image processing improvements.

Q3. What concerns are there about the Pixel 10’s camera quality?

Answer. While the Pixel 10 adds a telephoto lens, its main and ultrawide sensors are downgraded, using hardware similar to the Pixel 9a, which may affect overall camera performance.

Nothing has started teasing the upcoming CMF Phone (2) and while the company isn’t giving away much just yet, its first teaser video is already turning heads, especially because of a curious camera detail.

Nothing Teases CMF Phone 2

Recently, on both officially social media and Nothing community page, the brand shared a short 4-second teaser for the CMF Phone 2. The video features the brand’s signature orange colour and a few internal components of a phone.

The standout detail from the teaser video is the single camera shown along with an unusual cutout beneath it.

While it’s not clear what the cutout is for or if this is the full camera setup, the teaser is clearly for the CMF Phone (2) and it’s already sparking speculation.

The original CMF Phone (1) came with a dual-camera setup, although the second sensor was just a 2MP depth camera, not particularly useful. So, if Nothing decides to drop that secondary sensor, it won’t be a big loss. Still, this teaser makes it unclear whether the Phone (2) is going with just one camera or if this is part of a larger setup.

Nothing posted the teaser on X with the tagline, “in search of the perfect shot.” That suggests the focus is on camera improvements. In fact, leaked prototype images show what seems to be the same sensor added to the existing dual cameras, hinting that the Phone (2) could actually have three rear cameras this time.

CMF Phone 2 – What We Know So Far

The CMF Phone 2 is expected to launch next month, likely in the first half of May.

According to reports, the phone will feature a 6.3-inch AMOLED display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of up to 2,500 nits, offering a vibrant and responsive viewing experience.

It could be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 chipset, paired with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage, ensuring decent performance for everyday use. A 5,000mAh battery is said to keep things running, with support for 50W fast charging.

The device is expected to run on NothingOS 3.1 based on Android 15 and may come with an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance. One of the more interesting additions could be an “Essential Key Button” for quick access to certain functions.

On the camera front, the CMF Phone 2 is likely to bring a significant upgrade. It may come with a triple rear camera setup that includes a 50MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP third sensor. For selfies, a 16MP front camera is expected.

In terms of design, the phone is likely to maintain CMF’s bold and colourful aesthetic, possibly featuring a matte-finished opaque rear panel, customisable parts and a triple horizontal camera layout.

Pricing leaks suggest the 8GB + 128GB variant could be priced at Rs 17,999, while the higher 8GB + 256GB model might come in at Rs 19,999.

FAQs

Q1. What are the key features of the CMF Phone 2’s display and performance?

Answer. The CMF Phone 2 is expected to have a 6.3-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 2,500 nits. It will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 chipset, paired with up to 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB UFS 2.2 storage.

Q2. What are the expected camera specifications of the CMF Phone 2?

Answer. The CMF Phone 2 is likely to feature a triple rear camera setup with a 50MP main sensor, 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP third sensor. The front camera is expected to be 16MP.

Q3. When will the CMF Phone 2 launch, and what is its expected price?

Answer. The CMF Phone 2 is expected to launch in May, with pricing starting at Rs 17,999 for the 8GB+128GB variant and Rs 19,999 for the 8GB+256GB variant.

Apple Is Testing OLED iPad Mini Display Prototypes: Report

0

Highlights

  • Apple is reportedly testing prototypes of OLED displays for the iPad mini.
  • The iPad Mini and iPad Air with OLED screens might enter production later this year with a potential release in 2026.
  • These models will likely feature cost-effective conventional OLED panels unlike the advanced OLED screens in iPad Pro models.

Apple is reportedly testing prototypes of an OLED display for the iPad mini, according to a well-known leaker. If you’re using an older model, it might be worth holding off on an upgrade, the next version is likely to bring a big change with an OLED screen.

Apple’s OLED Transition

Apple has been gradually introducing OLED displays across its product lineup. It started with the Apple Watch, then moved to the iPhone, and later to the iPad Pro. MacBooks are also expected to get OLED screens in the future.

The iPad Air and iPad mini are next in line, with reports suggesting that the new models will enter production later this year but might not go on sale until 2026. That same year, Apple is also expected to launch an OLED MacBook Pro.

Unlike the iPad Pro, which features advanced tandem OLED panels, the iPad Air and iPad mini are likely to use more affordable conventional OLED screens to keep costs down.

Apple Evaluating OLED Display Prototypes

A recent Weibo post by leaker Digital Chat Station (DCS) suggests that Apple is currently testing an OLED display from Samsung for the iPad mini. While the machine-translated post is a bit unclear, the message is straightforward.

image

Caption – Tipster Digital Chat Station’s recent post on Weibo. (Translated via Google Translate)

DCS wrote, “This year’s mainstream brands have 3 small tablets of about 8.8 inches, two LCDs, one OLED, and three flagship chips with different platforms. In addition, iPad is also evaluating small-sized OLEDs.”

When asked whether the display would support ProMotion (120Hz refresh rate), the leaker said they weren’t sure yet.

Should You Wait for the OLED iPad Mini?

If you’re thinking about upgrading from an older iPad mini, it might be a good idea to wait. The most recent refresh, which came in October last year, was a relatively minor update.

That refresh included improved Apple Pencil support, better connectivity, Apple Intelligence features and a base storage upgrade to 128GB. However, beyond these changes, the iPad mini remained largely the same as its predecessor.

With a bigger upgrade expected in the next model, an OLED iPad mini could be worth waiting for, especially if display quality is a priority for you.

FAQs

Q1. Is Apple planning to introduce an OLED display for the iPad mini?

Answer. Yes, Apple is reportedly testing prototypes of an OLED display for the iPad mini, signaling a major upgrade in the device’s screen technology.

Q2. When might the OLED iPad mini become available?

Answer. Reports suggest that the iPad mini with an OLED display may enter production later this year, but it is unlikely to go on sale before 2026.

Q3. Should users wait for the OLED iPad mini before upgrading?

Answer. If display quality is a priority, it might be worth waiting for the OLED iPad mini, as the most recent refresh brought only minor updates.

Poco C71 – Unboxing and First Look

Poco C71 – Design and Build Quality

Poco C71 – Design and Build Quality

Poco C71, design-wise, have changed quite a bit compared to predecessor C61. The phone comes in a smooth, shiny finish with a split grid design on the back. We had the Cool Blue variant for this review and it looks good. The colour isn’t too loud and the subtle camera module gives it is a perfectly balanced look.

The phone is quite lightweight at 193g. Moreover, the boxy body with rounded corners and flat edges makes it easier to hold. The volume rockers and power button that also works as a fingerprint sensor are on the right side, while the SIM tray is on the left. There is a 3.5mm headphone jack at the bottom alongside the Type-C port and an IR blaster. On the top, we have the speaker grill.

The plastic frame and body might not seem too sturdy, but for a phone in this price segment, the Poco C71 is definitely well-built. It also comes with an IP52 rating, which ensures some resistance to dust and water.

Poco C71 – Display and Multimedia Experience

Poco C71 – Display and Multimedia Experience

Poco C71 comes with a 6.88-inch waterdrop HD+ display featuring a 120Hz Adaptive Refresh Rate and 1640×720 resolution. At first glance, it seems to be a decent display for a phone in this price segment. One of the first things you will notice is the huge bezels all around the display. It comes with a 5.4mm chin, 2.5mm top and 2.10mm side bezel size.

The display, otherwise, looks decent enough to meet your everyday smartphone needs. It feels smooth in scrolling and we didn’t face particular touch issues. The colours appear decent and the picture quality while streaming is standard for the segment.

It comes with a typical brightness of 450 nits and a peak brightness of 600 nits. We tried using the phone in different lighting considitions. While it may not be enough to ensure proper display visibility during daylight when outdoors, you shouldn’t face any issues with the display visibility when indoors.

Poco C71 comes with some other features such as Wet Hand Touch Support, TÜV low blue light certification, TÜV flicker-free certification and TÜV Circadian Friendly.

Poco C71 – Hardware, Software and Performance

Poco C71 – Hardware, Software and Performance

Poco C71 is powered by a Unisoc T7250 Octa-core processor. This is an entry-level processor, which comes with two fast ARM Cortex A75 cores at up to 1.8 GHz and six power-efficient ARM Cortex A55 cores at up to 1.6 GHz. The phone pairs the processor with 4GB/6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB/128GB of eMMC 5.1 onboard storage. Performance-wise, all this adds up to offer a good overall smartphone experience for everyday use.

Our experience with the phone was quite good. There were occasional lags, but only when a few extra apps were open in the background. The phone, otherwise, was smooth for everyday standard use including browsing or YouTube streaming.

The brand claims a 308k+ score on AnTuTu benchmark, but as we tested it managed 264113 on AnTuTu  v10.4.7. We also ran the phone on other popular benching platforms and below are the results for reference.

Poco is shipping the phone with Andriod 15 OS right out of the box. It is also offering 2 years of OS updates and four years of security updates. The UI seems pretty clean for a phone in this segment. There aren’t too many unnecessary apps uploaded. And the ones you have can be easily uninstalled.

POCO C71 – Camera Performance

POCO C71 – Camera Performance

Poco C71 features a modest 32MP Dual primary camera and an 8 MP front camera. The camera performance is overall satisfactory for the price segment.

You can expect the phone to give you decent and clear pictures when taken out in broad daylight. The phone does struggle in low light conditions or during the night when pictures can sometimes come out noisy. The rear camera at times overexposes the shot, which can result in not capturing the scene in its natural lighting and missing some details. We also felt there was a slight delay in capturing the shots.

In any case, Poco has added some useful camera modes such as Portrait Mode, Night Mode, Time-Lapse and Ultra HD Mode.

Both the rear and front camera can capture videos at 1080p at 30fps. The video recording is average at best. Below  are some videos we tried to record in different lighting conditions.

POCO C71 – Battery

POCO C71 – Battery

The POCO C71 is powered by a standard 5200mAh battery with 15W charging support. For the price segment, the battery specs are solid. With moderate usage, this battery will easily last a full day. Meanwhile, heavy users might need to charge the battery by the end of the day.

Speaking of charging, a 15W adapter (bundled inside the box) is on the slower and can take about 2 hours to go from 20 to 100 percent.

Verdict – Should You Buy Poco C71?

Verdict – Should You Buy Poco C71?

For an entry-level smartphone, Poco C71 offers decent value with some standard features to support everyday smartphone requirements. And even though the camera performance could have been better, it is quite close to the industry standard for the price segment. The phone’s battery life also comfortably lasts a full day for an average user. So, we would say if you are looking for a basic smartphone at the most reasonable price with decent features and a solid battery, the Poco C71 could be a good choice.

Amazon has made a surprise bid to buy the platform with the deadline for TikTok’s US ban fast approaching. According to reports, the tech giant sent its offer in a letter to Vice President JD Vance and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick as pressure mounts on TikTok’s Chinese parent company ByteDance to sell its US operations or shut them down.

Amazon’s Interest in TikTok

The US law requires ByteDance to sell TikTok to an approved buyer or face a ban, citing national security concerns. President Donald Trump, who returned to office in January, paused the enforcement of the ban on his first day back.

While he has hinted at extending the deadline again, he also expects a deal to be finalised by Saturday, April 5, according to Bloomberg.

Even if Amazon’s bid doesn’t succeed, its involvement could influence negotiations. Competing buyers might be forced to offer more money, and Amazon could gain valuable insight into TikTok’s financials, especially TikTok Shop, which is becoming a serious rival to Amazon’s e-commerce business.

Trump to Review TikTok Sale Proposals

Trump is set to meet with key officials on Wednesday to review proposals from potential buyers, including Oracle Corp. and Blackstone Inc., along with other investors interested in a joint venture.

The deadline for a deal was originally set for January 19 but was extended once before. If Trump approves a sale, ByteDance and the Chinese government would still need to sign off on it, though their level of involvement in discussions remains unclear.

Trump’s Changing Stance on TikTok

Trump, who has millions of followers on TikTok, has acknowledged the platform’s role in boosting his popularity among young voters. However, he took a much stricter stance during his first term issuing executive orders to ban transactions with ByteDance and WeChat over security concerns.

With the April 5 deadline fast approaching, it remains to be seen whether Amazon, Oracle, or another company will strike a deal or if TikTok will face a ban in the US.

FAQs

Q1. Why is Amazon interested in buying TikTok

Answer. Amazon’s surprise bid for TikTok aims to capitalize on the deadline requiring ByteDance to sell its US operations or face a ban, citing national security concerns. Additionally, Amazon could gain insights into TikTok’s financials and TikTok Shop, which rivals its e-commerce business.

Q2. What is the deadline for TikTok’s US sale, and what happens if no deal is made?

Answer. The current deadline is April 5, 2025. If no approved sale occurs, TikTok may face a ban in the US due to national security concerns about its Chinese parent company, ByteDance.

Q3. Who are the other potential buyers of TikTok besides Amazon?

Answer. Other potential buyers include Oracle Corp., Blackstone Inc., and several investors interested in a joint venture. Former President Trump is reviewing their proposals.
