Googleis getting ready to roll out its Gemini AI chatbot to kids under 13 but only with parental supervision through its Family Link service.
According to a report by The New York Times, Google recently sent an email to parents saying that Gemini will be available to younger users starting next week. Chrome Unboxed also reported receiving this same email on April 29. The email was sent to parents using Family Link, a tool that helps families manage parental controls across Google services like YouTube and Gmail.
For now, only children whose accounts are managed through Family Link will be able to access Gemini. The email reportedly says kids will be able to ask Gemini questions or get help with tasks like homework.
This update comes just after a warning from Common Sense Media, a nonprofit that said AI companions pose an “unacceptable risk” for users under 18. The group teamed up with researchers from Stanford’s Brainstorm Lab and published a report urging parents to block access to AI tools like Character.ai.
Character.ai allows users to create and talk with AI “characters.” According to Common Sense Media, “These AI ‘friends’ actively participate in sexual conversations and roleplay, responding to teens’ questions or requests with graphic details.”
While chatbots like Gemini and ChatGPT are different and built with guardrails to prevent misuse, recent reports have shown that bugs and workarounds can make it possible for kids to bypass these protections. For example, Mashable recently found a bug that allowed users to create erotic content using ChatGPT, and The Wall Street Journal reported a similar issue with Meta AI.
These incidents highlight a bigger issue even with rules in place, it’s easy to get around them online. Just like with access to pornography, which is illegal for people under 18 but still widely available, AI tools can also be misused by young users.

Infinix Note 50s 5G+ is one of the sleekest-looking phones amongst the recent Infinix launches. The first thing we noticed getting our hands on the device was how slim it was. At just 7.6mm and around 180g in weight, it is a lightweight and compact smartphone. It is curved around the edges and has a 3D curved display, which overall makes it look quite premium. According to the brand, it’s the slimmest phone in this segment that comes with a 3D curved display.
We had the Burgundy Red colour variant for this review and it looks great. The colour tone is very unique. The back panel has a metallic finish but it doesn’t look too loud. The glass camera module in the “Gem-Cut” design is not like the regular square or round shape modules. The good thing is that it is neat and doesn’t protrude too much from the rest of the phone body.
To add on to the overall design of the back panel, there is Infinix’s Active Halo Lighting. It works for calls, notifications, charging, gaming and voice assistants.
The sleek and compact design, however, does not come at the cost of durability. The phone is well-built and comes with MIL-STD 810H Military Grade certification for durability. It also has IP64 dust and water resistance, which means you can have some peace of mind around water or during rain.

We already have some excellent displays in the mid-range smartphone price segment. Infinix Note 50s 5G+ with its 6.78-inch 10-bit 144Hz AMOLED 3D-Curved panel is definitely here to compete. It is a stunning curved display to begin with, and looks perfect for media streaming. We, at MyMobiles, are not really fans of curved displays but that is not an issue, this punch-hole display should work for you.
The colours appear rich, sharp and vibrant with the support of 10-bit color depth and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage. The visuals look stunning and very life-like, although we wish the bezels weren’t so noticeable during streaming. It somehow hinders the immersiveness while streaming.
The 144Hz refresh rate keeps things smooth. Although the thing to note is that it goes up to 144Hz only in Phone Settings and Messages. Otherwise, it operates on 120Hz system-wide. In any case, there were hardly any noticeable issues with the touch or display during scrolling or simply performing everyday tasks.
It also supports 1300 nits of peak brightness. We tried using the phone in the outside daylight and didn’t face any brightness issues. The display remained very visible throughout.
Moreover, the Infinix Note 50s comes with Corning Gorilla Glass protection, so there you have something to fall back on in terms of screen durability.

It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultimate chipset and is paired with 8GB of RAM. We had the 128 GB internal storage variant here, which should be enough for any average user. But there is also another variant with 256 GB internal storage in case you need it.
Performance-wise, this phone is smooth and responsive. Every day tasks like social media, emails, YouTube or usual scrolling are a breeze. The phone manages thermals well. We didn’t face any heating issues even during long sessions of streaming or multitasking. Speaking of that, it can also handle multitasking quite well.
Moderate gaming is what we would recommend. While this isn’t particularly a gaming device, it does support good gameplay at medium settings. It can go up to a 90fps frame rate. However, gaming on the curved display is always a bit tricky. It creates problems with the grip and can increase the chances of accidental touches.
We tested Note 50s 5G+ on some of the benchmark platforms, and it scored decently well. Got 599545 on AnTuTu v10.4.8, 939 on Geekbench CPU Single Core and 2899 on Geekbench CPU multi-core. Here are some benchmark results.
As for the software, Note 50s 5G+ runs on XOS based on the latest Android v15 out of the box. The UI is quite user-friendly. Some pre-installed apps are there, but you can easily get rid of anything unnecessary.
Last but not least, we are also getting the One-Tap Infinix AI features. It comes with AIGC Portrait Mode, AI Notes, AI Wallpaper Generator, AI Voice Assistant Folax, Call Assistant, Circle To Search and more.

We felt the camera captures sharp, detailed photos that at one go seem perfect for social media. We tried getting some photos in different lighting and most came out solid. It maintains natural tones and balanced contrast. The low-light photos and shots taken after sunset came out clear. The 2X zoom is not always clear but it is still useful to have. We do wish there were an Ultrawide lens to make the whole camera system a little more versatile.

Note 50s 5G+ has a 5500 mAh battery capacity, which is impressive considering how slim the device profile is. Now, anything above 5000mAh is considered solid for a good full day’s power. We tried to test it and it lasted us almost a day with moderate to sometimes heavy usage.
There is also 45W fast charging with Infinix bundling the adapter inside the box. It is quite fast and is perfect for a quick power-up when needed. The phone comes with bypass charging feature as well, meaning it powers the phone directly and not the battery. This is believed to be a good feature to have for improving long-term battery performance.

Enhanced Gift Features
Telegram’s Gifts feature, launched last October, sees users exchange over 10 million gifts a month. These gifts use Stars and can be upgraded into blockchain collectables. With this update, you can:
Add a Gift button to your chat input field
Decide which gifts show up on your profile (from specific people, etc.)
Premium users can choose to receive only certain gift types like “Unique” or “Limited-Edition”

Easier Account Restriction Appeals
Telegram says it’s fast and accurate at banning spam or scam accounts. Now, if your account gets restricted, it’s not logged out, you’ll see a “frozen” version that lets you appeal the decision. If the appeal is successful, you get full access back.
You can also block and report unknown contacts right from the top of a chat.
New Gestures for Faster Navigation
Telegram added quick gestures to make things smoother –
iOS and Android: Hold the share arrow, slide to a recent chat or “Saved Messages,” and release to forward faster

Appleis getting ready to open more retail stores in India. The company already has two stores, one in Mumbai and another in New Delhi, but now it’s expanding its presence across the country. The update came directly from Apple CEO Tim Cook during the company’s recent Q2 2025 earnings call. Here’s what we know.
More Apple Stores in India Soon
While discussing Apple’s performance, Cook said, “In retail, in addition to the two stores we opened during the quarter, we’re also looking forward to a new retail store in the UAE, the arrival of the online store in Saudi Arabia and new retail stores in India later this year.”
He didn’t say exactly how many stores are coming or where they’ll be located. But a recent report suggests that Apple is planning to open four new stores in India, which is most likely to be in Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune and Noida.
According to the report, Apple has already picked out spots for at least two of those cities. The Pune store is expected to open in Kopa Mall, while the Noida store might be set up in Mall of India. The company is still scouting for locations in Bengaluru and Mumbai. If the Mumbai plan goes through, it would be the second Apple Store in the city, following Apple BKC.
Cook also shared another interesting detail that a big chunk of Apple products sold in the U.S. will soon be made in India and Vietnam.
“For the June quarter, we do expect the majority of the iPhones sold in the US will have India as their country of origin and Vietnam to be the country of origin for almost all iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and AirPods sold in the US,” he said.

The Google Play Store has seen a big drop in the number of apps available this year. According to a report from Appfigures, the total number of apps on the Play Store went from about 3.4 million at the start of 2024 to just 1.8 million by 2025, a sharp 47% decrease.
Meanwhile, Apple’s App Store actually grew slightly and now has around 1.64 million apps.
The massive cleanup is part of Google’s effort to make the Play Store safer for users. The company has been tightening its rules and cracking down on apps that break policies or pose security risks.
Google now uses a mix of human reviewers and AI tools to scan apps more thoroughly. It also introduced mandatory testing for all new developer accounts and expanded its developer verification process.

Google is getting ready to launch Android 16 in the next couple of months and a new report reveals it’s bringing one of the biggest design changes in years. Along with earlier hints about updated Lock Screen widgets, the latest word points to a full visual refresh that includes changes to the Status Bar, Quick Settings and more. Here’s a round-up of all we know.
Android 16 – What to Expect?
As reported by Android Authority, Android 16 will give Android phones a cleaner and more modern look. Starting with the Status Bar, the update will include a bolder font for the 5G icon, a new left-aligned clock that appears bigger than in Android 15, and battery and charging icons redesigned to resemble iOS.
Revamped Notifications & Quick Settings
One of the biggest updates is coming to the Notifications and Quick Settings panel. Android 16 will bring a combined Wi-Fi and Bluetooth toggle, a more streamlined tile editor, and the ability to resize Quick Settings tiles. There will also be a one-click shortcut for quickly adding or removing tiles. Even the brightness slider is getting a fresh new design.
The look of the Notifications and Quick Settings panel will now adjust based on your theme. In light mode, you’ll see a blurred, frosted glass background. In dark mode, the background will become a deeper grey tone.
More UI Changes
That same blurred background effect is also reportedly coming to other parts of the system like the Pixel Launcher’s app drawer, the PIN entry screen and the Recents menu.
Google is also planning some small but noticeable UI tweaks. The date and weather will now show below the time on the home and lock screens. There’s also a new Compact Notification Shelf, which is an optional feature that collapses all lock screen notifications into a tiny translucent button below the clock.
