Foxconn is taking another big step in supporting Apple’s growing manufacturing presence in India. The company is now preparing to start making iPhone casings locally, a first for Foxconn in the country.

According to a report from The Economic Times, Foxconn is setting up a new facility at the ESR Industrial Park in Oragadam, Tamil Nadu, dedicated to producing metal enclosures (or casings) for iPhones. Until now, Tata Electronics has been the only company manufacturing iPhone casings in India, and recently gained attention for becoming Apple’s new partner for iPhone and MacBook repairs in the country.

This move marks a new area of operations for Foxconn in India, which has so far focused mostly on iPhone assembly at its Sriperumbudur plant, as well as newer projects like AirPods production in Hyderabad and a major upcoming iPhone assembly facility near Bengaluru.

While making casings doesn’t add much to the total value of the device, just 2–3% of the iPhone’s bill of materials, this new operation will help Foxconn slightly increase its India-based value addition.

Still, as analyst Neil Shah from Counterpoint Research points out, Foxconn’s local value contribution is expected to remain under 10%. Shah also notes that Apple already gets its iPhone casings from several suppliers globally, including Foxconn in other countries, so bringing this capability to India is a natural expansion.

The construction of the new unit is already underway, and it’s being built in the same park where another Foxconn facility for iPhone display modules is also in the works.

Meanwhile, on the geopolitical front, U.S. President Donald Trump stirred the pot on Truth Social, saying, “I have long ago informed Tim Cook of Apple that I expect their iPhone’s that will be sold in the United States of America will be manufactured and built in the United States, not India, or anyplace else. If that is not the case, a Tariff of at least 25% must be paid by Apple to the U.S. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”

Despite such rhetoric, Apple’s focus on India is only growing. With efforts now spanning iPhone casings, display modules, AirPods, full device assembly, and even retail expansion, Apple and Foxconn are clearly committed to deepening their manufacturing footprint in India.

FAQs

Q1. What new manufacturing role is Foxconn taking on in India?

Answer. Foxconn is setting up a new facility at the ESR Industrial Park in Oragadam, Tamil Nadu, to produce metal enclosures (casings) for iPhones, marking its first time handling this component in India.

Q2. How does this move impact Apple’s manufacturing strategy in India?

Answer. This expansion supports Apple’s broader goal of deepening its local manufacturing ecosystem, which now includes iPhone assembly, AirPods production, display modules, and casings, reducing reliance on China.

Q3. Will this significantly increase Foxconn’s value addition in India?

Answer. While making casings adds only 2–3% to the iPhone’s bill of materials, it helps Foxconn slightly boost its India-based value contribution, which is still expected to remain under 10%.

Oppo Find X9 Pro Leak Reveals 200MP Periscope Camera and MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Chip

The upcoming Oppo Find X9 Pro is expected to launch later this year as the successor to the Oppo Find X8 Pro. While nothing has been officially confirmed yet, a new leak offers a sneak peek at what to expect. Here’s what we know based on the recent leak.

Upcoming Oppo Find X9 Pro – Leaked Details

According to a reliable tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the Find X9 Pro will feature a triple rear camera setup including a 200MP periscope telephoto lens, a 50MP main sensor, and a 50MP ultra-wide camera. That’s a shift from the quad-camera system on the Find X8 Pro, which included two separate periscope lenses.

image

What’s even more interesting is that Oppo is reportedly using a Samsung ISOCELL HP5 sensor for the new 200MP telephoto camera. It’s a 1/1.56-inch sensor built on 28nm process tech with support for DCG-HDR (Dual Conversion Gain HDR).

The tipster notes in their post that the new setup delivers good 10x zoom quality, though they suggest it may not match the versatility of the dual periscope layout from last year’s model.

If true, the Find X9 Pro could be the first smartphone to use the 200MP HP5 sensor in a periscope camera. While the shift to a triple-camera layout might feel like a downgrade on paper, Oppo may be aiming to simplify its setup without losing too much on zoom performance.

Oppo Find X9 Pro – What Else We Know?

Besides the cameras, the Oppo Find X9 Pro is also rumoured to sport a 6.78-inch display and be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset.

The phone is expected to debut in China later this year, likely in the fourth quarter, alongside other models in the series, including the Find X9, Find X9 Plus and Find X9 Ultra.

FAQs

Q1. What camera setup is expected on the Oppo Find X9 Pro?

Answer. The phone is rumoured to feature a triple rear camera system with a 200MP periscope telephoto lens using Samsung’s ISOCELL HP5 sensor, a 50MP main sensor, and a 50MP ultra-wide camera.

Q2. What chipset will power the Oppo Find X9 Pro?

Answer. It is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 SoC, offering flagship-level performance.

Q3. When is the Oppo Find X9 Pro expected to launch?

Answer. The device is likely to debut in Q4 2025 in China, alongside other models in the series like the Find X9, X9 Plus, and X9 Ultra.

OnePlus is rumoured to be developing a compact 8-inch Android gaming tablet, and it could be aimed directly at mobile gamers who want high performance in a smaller form factor.

According to a leak from Smart Pikachu on Weibo (via NotebookCheck), the tablet is said to feature a 165Hz refresh rate and “3K” resolution on an 8.X-inch display.

Caption – Smart Pikachu’s new report on the compact OnePlus gaming tablet. (Screenshot credit – NotebookCheck)

OnePlus already has a strong reputation for making great smartphones for gaming, and a compact gaming tablet from the brand could be an exciting alternative to the iPad Mini, if it gets a global release. That said, the company has recently kept some products, like the OnePlus 13T/13s, exclusive to limited regions, so it’s unclear if this new gaming tablet would see a wide launch.

In the meantime, OnePlus fans won’t have to wait too long for a new tablet. The OnePlus Pad Lite, an 11-inch Android tablet, is expected to launch in July.

If the leak proves true, OnePlus could soon join the growing wave of brands pushing smaller, gaming-focused Android tablets, a category that’s heating up fast.

While details are still limited, this puts the device in line with recent compact gaming tablets from other brands like Lenovo and Redmagic.

Smaller tablets are making a comeback. Lenovo’s Legion Tab (Gen 3) recently went global and Redmagic is preparing to launch its 9-inch OLED “Astra” gaming tablet worldwide in July. Now, it looks like OnePlus could be next.

FAQS

Q1. What are the key features of the rumoured OnePlus gaming tablet?

Answer. The tablet is said to feature an 8.X-inch display with 165Hz refresh rate and 3K resolution, aimed at delivering high performance for mobile gamers.

Q2. Will the OnePlus gaming tablet be available globally?

Answer. It’s unclear if the tablet will see a global release, as OnePlus has previously limited some products, like the OnePlus 13T/13s, to select regions.

Q3. How does the compact OnePlus gaming tablet fit into the current market trend?

Answer. If launched, it would join a growing wave of compact gaming tablets, alongside recent entries from Lenovo and Redmagic, as smaller tablets gain popularity.

Nothing Phone (3) Teased With New ‘Glyph Matrix’ Lights, Previously Leaked Design Likely Fake

0

Highlights

  • Nothing officially teased a compact “Glyph Matrix” light array on the back of the Phone (3).
  • A previously leaked render showing no lights and a triple-camera setup is now considered fake or misleading, as it doesn’t match the teaser.
  • With a July launch expected, Nothing continues its tradition of misdirecting leaks, keeping fans guessing with controlled reveals.

After weeks of teasing, Nothing has finally revealed the first look at the “Glyph Matrix” lights on the back of the upcoming Nothing Phone (3). However, it turns out, a recently leaked design was probably way off the mark. Here’s the full story.

Nothing Phone (3) – Recent Teaser

In a new teaser video posted on Nothing’s community pages and official social media handles, the company shows off a small lighting setup called the “Glyph Matrix.” It is placed in the top-right corner of the phone’s back.

It’s not the full-width light strip that many expected. Instead, it’s a much smaller and more compact array, and Nothing hints that this new setup is “when light becomes language.”

The size and placement of the Glyph Matrix are important because they don’t match the leaked design we saw earlier this month. That design showed a phone with no visible lights, three rear cameras, and a familiar Nothing aesthetic.

While some thought it might be a concept for a Phone (3a) variant, this new official teaser suggests that the previously leaked design was simply inaccurate.

To be sure, comparisons were made by overlaying the leaked render on top of Nothing’s official teaser, and the mismatch makes it pretty clear that the leak was likely fake or intentionally misleading.

image

This isn’t completely unexpected. Nothing has a reputation for playing with leaks, and it’s not the first time the company has thrown people off with misleading designs or controlled leaks.

With the official launch expected next month, this new teaser gives fans their first real clue about what the Nothing Phone (3) will actually look like and it’s clear now that the real design is different from what was leaked earlier.

FAQs

Q1. What is the Glyph Matrix on the Nothing Phone (3)?

Answer. The Glyph Matrix is a new dot-matrix-style LED display located in the top-right corner of the phone’s back panel, replacing the previous Glyph Interface.

Q2. Was the previously leaked design of the Nothing Phone (3) accurate?

Answer. No, the leaked design showing no lights and a triple-camera setup is now considered fake or misleading, as it doesn’t match the official teaser.

Q3. When is the Nothing Phone (3) expected to launch?

Answer. The Nothing Phone (3) is set to launch at the “Come to Play” event on July 1, where the company will also debut its first over-ear headphones.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Fold 7 Latest Leaked Renders Reveal Key Design and Colour Details

0

Highlights

  • Galaxy Z Flip 7 may feature a full-size cover display stretching across the top half, a slightly thinner build, and possibly expanded app support on the outer screen.
  • Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to be Samsung’s slimmest foldable yet, with a 3.9mm unfolded thickness, a wider outer display, and a new “Blue Shadow” colour option.
  • Samsung is likely to unveil both foldables, along with the Galaxy Watch 8 series, at its July 9 launch event in New York.

New leaks have revealed exciting details about Samsung’s upcoming foldables, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7. Turns out, they’re shaping up to be the biggest design upgrades in years. Here’s what we know based on recent renders.

Galaxy Z Flip 7 – Leaked Renders

image image

Let’s start with the Galaxy Z Flip 7. According to new renders shared via Android Headlines, the phone could finally feature a full-size cover display that stretches across the entire top half of the phone. This would likely even extend past the two camera lenses. This is a major shift from Samsung’s previous Flip models, which had much smaller outer screens.

For context, Motorola’s Razr Ultra already offered a full cover display that could run full Android apps, giving it an edge in the foldable race. Samsung might now be catching up.

image image

However, there’s still the question of software as Samsung has typically limited cover screen functions to select apps, and it’s unclear if the Flip 7 will change that.

The leak also hints that the Flip 7 could be slightly thinner than earlier models, although the difference appears minor. It’s still not as thin as the upcoming Fold 7, but the larger cover screen alone could be enough to make it feel like a big step forward.

Galaxy Z Fold 7 – Leaked Renders

image image

Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is also making waves with what looks like its slimmest design ever. New renders from OnLeaks and Android Headlines show a device with a much thinner profile, possibly even slimmer than the 12.1mm Fold 6. Earlier leaks suggest an unfolded thickness of just 3.9mm, which would be the slimmest yet for a Samsung foldable.

image image

In addition to slimming down, the Fold 7 also appears wider, with leaks pointing to a 10mm increase in width compared to the Fold 6. That should make the outer display more usable, fixing one of the biggest complaints from past models.

image image image image

A new “Blue Shadow” colour option has also been spotted, adding a splash of personality to Samsung’s premium lineup. While a classic black variant is expected, this deep metallic “Blue Shadow” brings a bold and refreshing change. More colour options are reportedly in the works too.

Samsung is expected to officially unveil the Galaxy Z Flip 7, Fold 7, and Galaxy Watch 8 series at its big launch event in New York on July 9th. If these leaks hold true, this could be the most exciting Galaxy Z launch yet.

FAQs

Q1. What major design changes are expected in the Galaxy Z Flip 7?

Answer. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 may feature a full-size cover display that stretches across the entire top half of the phone, extending past the camera lenses, marking a significant upgrade from previous Flip models.

Q2. How is the Galaxy Z Fold 7 expected to improve over its predecessor?

Answer. The Fold 7 is rumoured to be Samsung’s slimmest foldable yet, possibly as thin as 3.9mm when unfolded, and wider than the Fold 6, making the outer display more usable.

Q3. When will Samsung unveil the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Fold 7?

Answer. Samsung is expected to officially launch the Galaxy Z Flip 7, Fold 7, and Galaxy Watch 8 series on July 9 at a major event in New York

iPhone 18 Pro To Get Under-Display Face ID Ditching the Dynamic Island, Another Leak Confirms

0

Highlights

  • Apple may introduce under-display Face ID and a hidden front camera in the iPhone 18 Pro series.
  • It is expected to feature 6.27″ and 6.86″ LTPO OLED displays with 1.5K resolution, using HIAA tech to enable sensors beneath the screen.
  • The Dynamic Island may disappear, though its UI could remain as a software element.
  • Apple is reportedly testing working prototypes already.

image

Apple might be ready to make a big change to the iPhone’s display in 2026. A new leak from the reliable tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo claims that the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max will finally feature under-display Face ID along with a camera hidden beneath the screen. This would allow Apple to move towards a more seamless, full-screen look.

The tipster said that the iPhone 18 Pro will have a 6.27-inch OLED screen, while the Pro Max will go up to 6.86 inches. Both displays will use LTPO technology for smooth refresh rates and have 1.5K resolution.

image

Caption – Tipster Digital Chat Station’s post on Weibo. (Translated via Google Translate)

What makes this leak more interesting is Apple’s reported use of HIAA (Hole-in-Active-Area) tech. This allows certain parts of the screen to become see-through by removing some pixels, making it possible for sensors like Face ID to work from behind the display.

Rumours about under-display Face ID have been floating around for years. Analysts like Ross Young and earlier reports from The Information have also pointed to 2026 as the year Apple could make this move. Now, this latest leak supports that timeline.

If this pans out, the Dynamic Island that pill-shaped cutout introduced in recent models might finally disappear. However, Apple could still keep the Dynamic Island UI as a software element that appears only when needed.

There’s another interesting bit from The Information’s earlier report is that the front camera might shift to the top-left corner of the screen, similar to how many Android phones are laid out. This would be the first time an iPhone has an off-centre selfie camera.

It’s worth noting that Android brands like Samsung and ZTE have already tried under-display cameras. But Apple faces a bigger challenge as Face ID uses infrared components like a dot projector, flood illuminator, and IR camera, all of which are harder to hide behind a screen than a regular selfie cam.

According to the leak, Apple already has working prototypes in testing, which suggests it may have solved some of these issues.

Apple’s goal of eliminating the Dynamic Island isn’t new, it’s been rumoured since the iPhone 15. While the iPhone 17 Pro Max is still expected to have a smaller version of the Dynamic Island, a truly uninterrupted screen might finally arrive with the iPhone 18 series, if all goes as planned.
