Honor has launched its latest foldable smartphone, the Honor Magic V5, at the recent AI Ecosystem event in China. The brand introduced the device as the world’s thinnest and lightest foldable flagship. The Magic V5 opens up to a 7.95-inch inner OLED display with a resolution of 2352×2172. On the outside, there’s a 6.43-inch OLED screen at 2376×1060. Both displays support a 120Hz LTPO refresh rate, DCI-P3 color, 10.7 billion colors, and a stunning 5000 nits peak brightness for HDR content.

Honor has added 4320Hz PWM dimming to reduce eye strain, along with AI-powered motion sickness reduction and colour consistency between both screens. The outer display uses next-gen Giant Rhinoceros glass for better durability. It offers 3× better wear resistance, 10× better drop resistance and 15× better scratch resistance.

When folded, the phone stands 156.8mm tall and 74.3mm wide. The Ivory White model is 8.8mm thick, while other colours go up to 9.0mm. Unfolded, it’s just 4.1mm (White) or 4.2mm (others) thick. Weight ranges from 217g to 222g, depending on the variant.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), tipster Luna shared a low-resolution image of the leaked Meta Hypernova smart glasses. The design is similar to the Ray-Ban Meta Glasses, but with slightly thicker arms and a familiar solid colour scheme. The frame includes cameras and sensors on both sides.

The glasses are expected to come with a touch bar on the left side, allowing users to interact with the device using gestures like double-tapping to click photos or record videos.

A second leaked image shows a smart wristband called Ceres, which may come bundled with the glasses. This eMG wristband uses sensors to detect muscle signals from your wrist to control the glasses.

Pinching the index finger and thumb to scroll or select
Rotating the wrist to navigate
Possibly even handwriting input, though that feature may not be ready at launch

Meta is giving Threads some long-awaited independence from Instagram. The app is officially rolling out its own direct messaging (DMs) and a new visual highlights feature called Threads Highlighter. These updates are launching just in time for the platform’s second anniversary. Threads first went live on July 5, 2023.

Announcing the rollout, the company said, “More than a third of daily Threads users with connections follow mostly different accounts on Threads than on Instagram, showing that Threads is establishing its own unique user base.”

Threads’ DMs Are Here

Since Threads launched, users have been asking for direct messaging, and it’s finally happening. But there are a few ground rules for now. First, DMs are not encrypted. Also, you can only send messages to people who follow you back on Threads, or mutual followers from Instagram. Both users also need to be over 18.

The OnePlus Nord CE 5 will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Apex chipset, paired with the Mali-G615 GPU for graphics. With the new “suggested posts” feature, users can submit things like fan-made content, product reviews, or promotional posts directly to a channel’s inbox. These can either be scheduled or posted whenever the channel owner chooses.

For now, only Telegram Premium users can submit suggested posts.

Add Rewards with Stars or Toncoin

To encourage channel owners to post their content, users suggesting posts can now offer rewards. These can be sent through –

Telegram Stars (available via @PremiumBot or Fragment)
Toncoin, which can be added through Fragment

Rewards are sent 24 hours after the post goes live. If it’s taken down early, Telegram automatically refunds the Stars. However, Toncoin payments are final and can’t be refunded, making them a more secure option.
