OPPO is reportedly working on the next-generation Reno 17 series and it could be working on some major camera and performance upgrades. The Reno 17 lineup is tipped to feature a 200MP main camera, gimbal-level stabilisation and support for a teleconverter accessory. The latest leak also claims that OPPO is considering MediaTek’s Dimensity 8600 and Dimensity 9500 chipsets for the Reno 17 series. The phones are currently expected to launch in November 2026.
OPPO Reno 17 Series Tipped to Get 200MP Main Camera
The OPPO Reno 17 series could bring a major camera upgrade over its predecessors. According to the latest tip, OPPO is considering a 200MP camera sensor for the Reno 17 series.
The new camera is expected to be paired with gimbal stabilisation, which could help improve image and video stability when shooting handheld or recording moving subjects.
However, the exact 200MP sensor and other camera specifications are not known yet. OPPO has also not officially confirmed the camera setup.
Gimbal-Level Stabilisation Could Be the Reno 17’s Biggest Camera Upgrade
Gimbal stabilisation is another key feature coming up in latest reports. The technology is designed to provide better physical stabilisation than standard electronic or optical stabilisation, potentially resulting in smoother videos and more stable photos.
