Oppo has already confirmed that the Reno 16 series will debut in China soon. Since then, multiple Reno 16 series devices have started appearing on certification platforms and speculations suggest a global unveil could take place sometime in June or July. Now, another model from the series named Oppo Reno 16F 5G has appeared in certification indicating that its launch may be drawing closer. Here’s what we know so far.
The Oppo smartphone carrying the model number CPH2859 has now surfaced in the GCF certification database. This certification confirms that the device has cleared global network compatibility testing, which is usually a sign that an international launch is nearing.
Previously, the same device was spotted on Thailand’s NBTC and the UAE’s TDRA certification websites with the Oppo Reno 16F 5G branding. The phone was also listed on the TUV certification platform, which revealed support for 80W fast charging.
Also, its appearance in the NBD database suggested that the handset may launch in a 12GB RAM and 512GB storage variant.
Meanwhile, another Oppo device with the model number CPH2865 believed to belong to the Reno 16 lineup has also appeared on both the GCF and Singapore IMDA certification platforms recently.
The listing revealed that the smartphone could feature a 6.587-inch display along with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Based on the display size, many reports have hinted that this model is most likely the standard Reno 16.
Apart from these models, the Reno 16 Pro carrying the model number CPH2863 has also been spotted on the NBTC and TDRA certification databases. Its NBD listing hinted at a possible 12GB RAM and 512GB storage configuration as well.
Rumours suggest that the Reno 16 series launching in China later this month could include three smartphones namely Reno 16c, Reno 16 and Reno 16 Pro.
While details about the Reno 16c remain unknown, leaks indicate that the Reno 16 may arrive as a compact smartphone featuring a 6.3-inch display and the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 chipset.
The Reno 16 Pro, on the other hand, is tipped to come with a larger 6.78-inch screen and the Dimensity 9500s processor.
The Reno 16 series is expected to retain camera features similar to the Reno 15 lineup while delivering improved overall performance.
