It has just been months since Oppo introduced the Reno 15 series in India in January. Now, the brand has already started preparing to launch its next-generation Reno series smartphones including the Oppo Reno 16 and Oppo Reno 16 Pro. According to reports, the series could arrive in China sooner than later. Ahead of the official announcement, new leaks have shed light on what to expect from Oppo Reno 16 Pro. Here’s what we know.
According to recent leaks by tipster on X, the Oppo Reno 16 Pro could see a global launch between July and August.
The smartphone is expected to feature a 6.32-inch OLED display and come with a triple rear camera setup headlined by a 200MP sensor. In terms of design, it is likely to offer a premium glass and aluminium build along with an action button, which could be a new addition to the Reno lineup.
The camera module is expected to retain a design similar to the previous generation with only minor changes. The device is also tipped to include a slightly larger battery compared to its predecessor.
Previous reports suggest that the Reno 16 Pro may be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset positioning it as a sub-flagship offering. The device is expected to pack a large battery possibly around 7,000mAh. While official charging details are yet to be confirmed, it may support around 80W wired and 50W wireless charging similar to the Reno 15 Pro.
On the camera front, the Oppo Reno 16 Pro is rumoured to feature a versatile triple camera setup. This setup is expected to be similar to its predecessor combining a high-resolution main camera, an ultra-wide lens and a periscope sensor.
In terms of memory and storage, the smartphone could be offered in multiple configurations starting from 12GB RAM with 256GB storage and going up to 16GB RAM with 512GB storage. A 1TB storage variant is also said to be under consideration. The expected pricing for the Reno 16 Pro is between 4,000 and 5,000 CNY, which roughly translates to around Rs 54,800.
The device may be available in colour options such as white, black, purple, and green.
Alongside the Pro variant, the standard Oppo Reno 16 is expected to take a more compact approach. It may feature a 6.3-inch display and could be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8-series chipset possibly the Dimensity 8500. While detailed specifications are still limited, the device is likely to retain a triple-camera setup similar to its predecessor potentially including a 200MP primary sensor along with two 50MP sensors.
More details are expected to be revealed closer to the official launch.
