It was previously reported that Oppo has been working on a new budget-friendly Android tablet. Now new report suggests that it might be the first device to debut MediaTek’s upcoming Dimensity G-series chipset. It is most likely to be the Oppo Pad SE model and it’s expected to launch soon in China, possibly alongside other Oppo products. Here’s what we know.
According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the Oppo Pad SE may be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity G100, a chip that hasn’t been officially announced yet. Based on the name, it’s likely to be part of a new series that succeeds the Helio G lineup, known for powering affordable smartphones and tablets.
The Dimensity G100 is expected to offer 5G support, like other Dimensity chips. However, it’s also possible that this chip could be a rebranded Helio processor with a fresh name for marketing purposes.
The leak also reveals that the Oppo Pad SE will pack a large 9,340mAh battery, which could support 33W wired fast charging. This fits with the budget-friendly positioning of the tablet, especially given its “SE” branding, which usually indicates a more affordable version of a device.
The Oppo Pad SE is expected to launch soon in China, but it might not arrive alone. The tablet is rumoured to be unveiled alongside the Oppo Enco Clip, a new pair of open-ear earbuds. These are said to be similar in design and concept to the Moto Buds Loop and Honor Earbuds Open.
Both the Pad SE and Enco Clip might make their debut alongside the Oppo Reno 14 series, although there’s no official confirmation yet. As always, take these early details with a grain of salt until Oppo makes things official.
