The Oppo Find X9 Ultra is tipped to launch soon in China. Ahead of the launch, newly surfaced leaked images are shedding more light on the phone’s camera-focused upgrades. The latest leak mainly draws attention to a revised teleconverter accessory. Here’s all we know.
According to the leaked images (via Weibo), the Oppo Find X9 Ultra will support an updated external teleconverter that appears noticeably bigger than its predecessor. The handset is shown being tested outdoors with the accessory attached. It suggests Oppo is focusing on real-world photography performance ahead of launch.
Unlike the optional 3.28x teleconverter available for the Find X9 Pro, the new attachment is said to offer 4.28x optical magnification. This reportedly results in an effective focal length of around 300mm, making it more suitable for long-range photography.
The teleconverter itself looks more complex in design and is expected to include additional optical elements. It is tipped to work alongside a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera, enabling detailed optical zoom shots with reduced dependence on digital cropping.
Leaks suggest that Oppo will retain a dual periscope telephoto setup on the Find X9 Ultra. The primary periscope camera is said to be a 200-megapixel OmniVision OV52A sensor offering 3x optical zoom. This could be paired with a second 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera supporting up to 10x optical zoom.
The rest of the rear camera system is expected to include a 200-megapixel Sony LYT-901 main sensor, a 50-megapixel Samsung JN5 ultra-wide camera, and a dedicated multispectral sensor to improve colour accuracy. Both the main and telephoto cameras are tipped to feature optical image stabilisation. On the front, the phone may house a 50-megapixel selfie camera with autofocus.
Beyond photography, the Oppo Find X9 Ultra is rumoured to sport a 6.82-inch flat 2K AMOLED display, be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, and run ColorOS 16. It is also expected to offer full dust and water resistance, along with a battery larger than 7,000mAh that supports fast wired and wireless charging.
The Find X9 Ultra is expected to make its debut in China around March and could later be introduced in additional global markets.
