Oppo’s Pete Lau showed off a version of the 2021 Find N foldable that had a leather backplate on Twitter/X.
This leather-clad version never made it to market.
The original #OPPOFindN as you’ve never seen it before 👀
I’ve spoken before about how the journey to perfect design involves countless CMF explorations. This variant didn’t make it to production, but i’m curious – what do you think of its distinctive look? pic.twitter.com/q5uocIXcVQ

The Oppo Find N was a remarkable first showing for the company’s foldable lineup when it debuted.
The compact outer form factor, excellent inner display, and impressive foldable hardware delivered a great initial experience.
Oppo has only improved on that with subsequent generations, with the Find N3 coming to the United States as the excellent OnePlus Open.
In the new post, it’s unclear if the backplate uses genuine leather or a faux textured material, but the look is unique.
The frame also has a slight tint, and the whole thing looks cool.
The reason this version never reached the market is not clear, but hopefully, Oppo will give this another try eventually.
Currently the most premium offering in the foldable category from OPPO is the Find N3, which does have a pretty good design to be honest but a leather back is not one of its fortes.
The device is now quite old and boasts specs that are nothing remarkable.
It has a Snapdragon 888 processor and up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.
The main camera is 50MP, using the same Sony IMX766 sensor from the OnePlus 9 Pro and Oppo Find X3 Pro, joined by a 16MP ultrawide and a 13MP 2x telephoto.
The battery is 4,500mAh and can be charged at 33W with a SuperVOOC cable or 15W wirelessly.
It also has 10W reverse wireless charging and standard Qi support.
A fingerprint sensor is located in the power button.
