The OnePlus 15R is gearing up to be the next major budget flagship from OnePlus. The device was teased earlier this month ahead of its global unveiling, and fresh information has now surfaced online outlining key specifications. A new leak hints at a powerful hardware upgrade that could appeal especially to gamers. Here’s what we know.
According to a tweet shared by tipster Debayan Roy @Gadgetsdata on X (formerly Twitter), the upcoming OnePlus 15R could debut with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. If accurate, this would place the phone just below the premium OnePlus 15, which runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.
Tipster Roy claims that his sources have “confirmed” the chipset details for the 15R.
In addition to the processor information, Roy notes that the phone will feature a dual rear camera setup consisting of 50MP + 50MP sensors.
These details align with earlier reports hinting that the OnePlus 15R could become the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 5-powered smartphone to launch in global markets.

Previous reports have claimed that OnePlus 15R model is also expected to be a rebranded version of the OnePlus Ace 6T, which is scheduled to debut soon in China.
Microsites for Amazon India and OnePlus India offer a sneak peek at the phone’s rear design. The 15R appears to feature a circular LED flash instead of the pill-shaped vertical flash used on the Ace series. The pages also hint at two colour options, which are green and black.

Meanwhile, the Ace 6T on which the 15R is reportedly based will sport a dual camera setup with a 50MP main sensor and a 50MP ultra-wide lens. This marks a shift from the previous OnePlus 13R, which included a triple-camera configuration with a telephoto lens. Similar to the flagship OnePlus 15, the 15R seems to be seeing a reduction in camera hardware to maintain its budget-friendly positioning.
Since these details are not officially confirmed yet, the information should still be considered speculative. More updates are expected as OnePlus approaches the device’s official global launch.
