The Nothing Phone (3) is inching close to the launch and new details keep surfacing almost every day. A recent listing on the FCC has confirmed several key features, giving us a clear look at what to expect ahead of its official launch on July 1. That’s not all. Adam Bates, the design director at Nothing, has also shared some new details on what to expect from the new Glyph Matrix. So, here’s what we know.

The Phone (3), listed under the model number A024, will come with a 5,150mAh battery, which is a decent upgrade over the 4,700mAh cell on the Nothing Phone (2). While it may not beat the battery capacities of some Chinese flagships, it stacks up well against phones from Apple and Samsung.

Charging also sees a big improvement. The wired fast charging speed jumps from 45W to 65W, making it the fastest-charging Nothing phone yet. Wireless charging is likely to be included again, though official details on that are still under wraps.

The FCC documents also confirm that the Phone (3) will run Android 15 with Nothing OS 3.3 out of the box. Connectivity won’t be an issue, as the phone supports 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth, and NFC.

Nothing Phone (3) – New Glyph Matrix Display on the Back

One of the more exciting updates is the introduction of a new circular secondary display on the back, called the Glyph Matrix. According to Adam Bates, design director at Nothing, this new dot-matrix-style screen replaces the previous LED strip Glyph Interface and aims to feel “more expressive, playful and personal.”

The Glyph Matrix might be able to display symbols, animations, and sound-paired effects. While Bates didn’t reveal full details while speaking with Design Milk, this secondary display could potentially show things like incoming call alerts, battery level, weather icons, and other basic widgets.
