* Nothing Phone (2) will release in the US this summer.
* The device is expected to launch in India soon after.
* Nothing Phone (2) will be powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset.
* The device is expected to retain the same transparent back and the Glyph interface.
* Here’s everything we know so far about the upcoming Nothing phone (2).

After months of speculation, Nothing has finally revealed that the Nothing Phone (2)—successor to the Nothing Phone (1)—will launch this summer with no fixed release rate yet. We will have to wait for the company to reveal the release date and more about the device as the launch comes closer.

The brand has revealed few key details about the device, including transparent back design that originally debuted with the Nothing Phone (1).

The design of the Nothing Phone (2) is expected to retain the transparent design aesthetic that Nothing debuted with the Phone (1)—in partnership with Swedish firm Teenage Engineering. Additionally, based on the teaser image that the brand has shared, we can expect the Glyph lighting to make a comeback, and perhaps, the brand will find more use cases for it this time.

The teaser image also reveals a red LED indicator that has grown in size compared to the Nothing Phone (1), as well as a mysterious switch that could potentially be a mute switch.

In terms of specifications, the Nothing Phone (2) will up the ante by featuring a Snapdragon 8 series SoC, unlike the Nothing Phone (1) which launched with the Snapdragon 765 SoC—an upper midrange chipset.

Earlier this year, Qualcomm revealed that the Nothing Phone (2) is going to be powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 Soc, which is last year’s flagship SoC from Qualcomm, and falls in-between the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 from early 2022 and 8 Gen 2 from this year.

Currently, it is unknown if the phone will offer any new camera lenses, including a telephoto lens, or if it will feature a new sensor altogether. However, in a series of phone reviews, Carl Pei, the founder of Nothing, emphasized that the brand is working hard to make software a strong suit of the Nothing Phone (1), so we may see improved cameras this time around.

With Summer already underway, we can expect the London-based company to reveal more details about the device soon.

It’s happening much awaited Nothing Phone 2 launch will be happening soon as the Carl Pie-owned brand has confirmed in an official tweet. The Nothing Phone 2 launch will happen in the summer of 2023 as mentioned in the official tweet.

The successor to Nothing Phone (1) is expected to come with upgraded specs and features. Nothing is asking fans and users to sign-up for updates.

Nothing Phone (2), the highly-anticipated follow-up to Phone (1), will be launching this summer, the company revealed on Wednesday.

This is in line with past reports that Nothing is looking at a Q3 launch for the Phone (2). That said, we still don’t have a launch date yet. Nothing has begun teasing certain aspects about the upcoming phone, while confirming key specifications, including the chipset.

The Nothing Phone (2) is expected to take its design cues from its predecessor Nothing Phone (1), which means we can expect a transparent design. The company previously revealed that it has partnered with Qualcomm to power the Nothing Phone (2) with Snapragon’s 8 series processor, which also means you can expect the phone to be costlier than its predecessor.

Nothing has revealed that the Phone (1) will be a more “premium” offering, which again means that consumers can expect better specs at a pricier price tag.

Now, since the Nothing Phone (1) was launched in India, we expect the Nothing Phone (2) to also be available in the country. However, the phone targeted the mid-range segment. In fact, the Nothing Phone (1) is currently available at a much cheaper price tag during Flipkart sales. During the upcoming Fipkart sale, the Nothing Phone (1) is said to be available for Rs 25,999, inclusive of the bank offers.

As per the official teasers, the Nothing Phone (2) will be a much-upgraded version of the Phone (1), which means top-notch specifications. The Phone (1) comes packed with a 6.55-inch flexible OLED display with 60hz to 120hz adaptive refresh rate, haptic touch motors, HDR10+, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 support on the front and back.

The smartphone is backed by a 4500mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging, but the charger is not available in the box and neither is the clear phone cover.

On the hardware front, the smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 778+ SoC coupled with 12GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage. There are three variants in total: 8GB RAM + 128GB storage, 8GB RAM + 256GB storage and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage. There’s no expandable storage support in this one. The company has confirmed that the Phone (2) will come with Snapdragon 800 series processor.

In terms of camera system, the Nothing Phone (1) includes a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 sensor + 50-megapixel Samsung JN1 sensor on the rear panel. On the front, there’s a 16-megapixel front camera inside the hole punch display for selfies and video calls. The camera app includes various modes, such as macro, night mode on front and back, among others.

On the software front, the Nothing Phone (1) runs on Android 12 with NothingOS custom skip on top, which offers a stock Android experience. The company promises to offer 3 years of Android support and 4 years of security patches every 2 months. Some of the other features include in-display fingerprint sensor, dual stereo speakers, face unlock support and much more.

Let’s take a quick look at what the brand has revealed so far.

Nothing Phone (2) is Coming Soon

Nothing has confirmed that the Phone (2) is launching this summer. The company is urging fans to sign-up here to get the latest updates about the upcoming smartphone. The term “premium” has been emphasised because the successor to the Phone (1) will be a more premium offering.

We already know that the brand is moving from the mid-range to a more flagship space after confirming that the Nothing Phone (2) will be powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset.

One speculates that the Phone (2) will get a similar (if not slightly updated) Glyph Interface i.e. a transparent rear panel that houses multiple LED lights. There could be some aesthetic tweaks here and there, and possibly a mute switch.

The Phone (2) will launch in the US first before hitting other markets. The device is expected to come to India as the phone’s battery unit was allegedly spotted on the BIS website.

Unfortunately, that’s all we really know about the Nothing Phone (2), at least officially. There have been some reports in the past that give us an idea regarding the phone’s specifications.

* Display: 120Hz AMOLED
* Chipset: Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1
* RAM: Up to 12GB
* Storage: Up to 256GB
* Battery: 5,000mAh

Nothing Phone (2) Look

The smartphone company has teased only the rear panel of the upcoming smartphone, which is arriving this Summer. It appeared in the teaser that Phone (2) is having the white textured plastic covering the inside with the glyph light strip and the red recording indicator. Unlike its predecessor, it is no longer circular.

Nothing Phone (2) Specs

Though the company hasn’t unveiled any details regarding the specifications of the upcoming premium smartphone, but it expected that the smartphone will sport the flagship Snapdragon 8-series chipset, as revealed at MWC 2023 earlier this year.

Here Is What You Need To Know About Nothing Phone 2

The Nothing Phone 2 stands out from competitors with its unique appearance, particularly the lights on the back of the phone called “The Glyph.” While details about the phone are limited, it is expected to also feature The Glyph.

The Glyph may not have RGB lighting due to the Phone 1’s limited ability to produce only white light for it. There is a possibility for an upgrade in the Nothing Phone 2, but Pei has voiced disapproval of RGB lighting and labeled it as “cringe.”

The upcoming Nothing Phone 2 is expected to have upgraded internals. Nothing CEO, Carl Pei, confirmed that it will provide a more premium experience than the first model.
