Are you old enough to remember the snake game in old feature phones? Well, even if you are not, those snake games are iconic enough for anyone who has used mobile phones in its initial says. What if we tell you the snake game is back?

Nothing has introduced a new Snake Game Widget offering users a nostalgic gaming experience right on their home screens. The smartphone maker made the announcement on its official handle on X (formerly Twitter)

The widget is now available in India and was developed in collaboration with Rahul Janardhanan and Thomas Legendre, two prominent community members. Rahul is known for creating innovative widget concepts. Meanwhile, Thomas has contributed to projects like Ear (web) and the Simone Glyph Game.

How to Download and Set Up the Widget?

To access the Nothing Snake Game Widget, follow these steps:

  • Download the Nothing Community Widgets App – Available on the Play Store.
  • Add the Widget to Your Home Screen – Once installed, place the widget on your home screen.
  • Update or Reboot if Needed – If you don’t see the widget, update the Nothing Launcher or reboot your phone, especially if you’re on the Nothing OS 3 beta version.

Here’s how to play the game once downloaded –

  • Swipe to Control: Move the snake in different directions to collect food.
  • Dynamic Challenges: The snake’s speed increases as your score climbs.
  • Pause and High Score: Double-tap the widget to pause the game and view your high score.

Importantly, the widget is available in a single 2×2 size, which may feel a bit small for gameplay. Nothing might add more size options in the future. It’s also not tied to Nothing OS 3.0, which means no updates are required to enjoy the game.

Meanwhile, Nothing has rolled out the second open beta of Nothing OS 3.0 for the Phone (2) with the stable version expected later this month.
