After grabbing eyeballs with its first product, Nothing ear (1), London-based consumer-tech company Nothing has announced its plan to foray into smartphone segment by launching a new phone in summer 2022, but the exact launch date is yet to be announced.
After making announcement during the Nothing (event): The Truth livestream on 23 March, Nothing founder Carl Pei also took the microblogging site to share his excitement. Pei said that this is just the start of the Nothing story.
With the launch of the smartphone, Nothing aims to build an Apple rival and offer consumers a compelling alternative to MacBook, the iPhone, the AirPods, they are work together the way you want.
“You’ve speculated, and now you know. Nothing phone (1) is officially coming. It’s unlike anything else. Summer 2022,” reads a tweet by Nothing.
Revealing details of the upcoming smartphone, Pei said that the upcoming smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon, Nothing phone (1) is the second device in the company’s product ecosystem built for seamless connectivity and defined by iconic design. The Nothing phone (1) will be based on Android with customisations from Nothing OS on top. More details about phone (1) will be announced in the coming months on the official website and social media websites.
