Motorola has taken the wraps off two new additions to its Edge smartphone lineup – the flagship Edge 50 Ultra and the more affordable Edge 50 Fusion.
Both devices offer top-tier displays, cameras, and performance, though with some key differences in specs and pricing.
The Motorola Edge 50 Ultra will retail for €999 (around Rs 1,10,000) while the Edge 50 Fusion comes in at €399 (around Rs 40,000).
The phones are slated to go on sale over the coming weeks across parts of Asia, Europe, Latin America, and Oceania.
There’s no word yet on an India launch although the Moto Edge 50 Pro has made its way across the country.
The Edge 50 Ultra is a true flagship phone.
It uses top-end hardware like the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip and ultra-smooth 1.5K 144Hz OLED display.
Its triple rear camera setup includes a high-res 50MP main sensor, 50MP ultra-wide with macro, and 64MP 3X telephoto lens for sharp long-range shots.
A 50MP front camera handles selfies.
The phone runs Android 14 and packs a large 4,500mAh battery with ludicrously fast 125W wired and 50W wireless charging.
Design highlights are an aluminum frame, Gorilla Glass Victus protection, and premium vegan leather or wood-effect finishes.
The Edge 50 Fusion is a more affordable mid-range option.
It has a curved 6.7-inch pOLED display with FHD+ resolution and either 120Hz or 144Hz refresh rate depending on region.
Performance comes from a Snapdragon 7 Gen 2 or 6 Gen 1 chip with up to 12GB RAM. Camera duties are handled by a 50MP main sensor and 13MP ultra-wide/macro cam.
Like the Ultra, it runs Android 14 and has a vegan leather back.
However, it gets a larger 5,000mAh battery but slower 68W wired charging.
