Motorola is gearing up to expand its Edge 40 series with the introduction of a ‘Neo’ model.
Following the success of the Moto Edge 40, which launched in India in May and later saw the release of a ‘Viva Magenta’ colour variant in June, the Edge 40 Neo is poised to be a more affordable option.
A recent listing on Geekbench has revealed some tantalising details about the forthcoming smartphone.
The phone’s listing on Geekbench, spotted by 91mobiles, offers an intriguing insight into what the Motorola Edge 40 Neo may bring to the table.
With a single core score of 3,559 and a multi-core score of 8,508, the phone’s performance is eagerly awaited.
Though the specific chipset was not detailed, the listing showed an octa-core processor with a peak clock speed of 2.50GHz, accompanied by the Mali-G610 MC3 GPU.
There are high chances of this being a MediaTek Dimensity 1050 SoC.
The Geekbench listing also revealed that the Moto Edge 40 Neo could come with 8GB of RAM, coupled with Android 13, the latest operating system.
This combination suggests that the device could be primed for multitasking and smooth functionality.
The appearance of the Moto Edge 40 Neo on the UAE’s Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) website and previous leaks provide a glimpse into its expected launch timeline and pricing.
The smartphone may launch on September 15th at an anticipated price of €399 (about Rs 36,000).
Motorola’s Edge 40 Neo is expected to feature a 6.55-inch Full HD+ pOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate.
Additionally, the mention of a ‘Black Beauty Shade’ colour is one of the options that will be available.
There is also the potential inclusion of the MediaTek Dimensity 1050 SoC, as mentioned above.
The Moto Edge 40 Neo is rumoured to be launched with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage, offering ample space and speed for demanding users.
Its camera setup, expected to sport a dual-camera arrangement with 50MP and 13MP sensors, along with a 32MP front camera.
The device could house a substantial 5,000mAh battery although charging speeds are not known. An IP68 rating, if confirmed, would signify resistance to dust and water, adding a layer of durability to the device.
The Geekbench listing offers key insights into the Edge 40 Neo, including an ARM v8 octa-core processor, Mali-G610 MC3 GPU, 8GB of RAM, and the device’s single and multi-core performance scores.
Though not specifically named, the chipset details in the Geekbench listing suggest that it might be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1050 SoC.
The Geekbench listing for the Motorola Edge 40 Neo reveals a single-core score of 3,559 and a multi-core score of 8,508.
While the Geekbench listing provides valuable insights, it might not reflect the final specs, as manufacturers often tweak hardware configurations before launch.
