Motorola is poised to shake up the budget smartphone market with its upcoming Moto G84, which is expected to launch on September 1.
Featuring 5G support, a dual-camera setup, and a pOLED display, the device aims to offer premium features at an affordable price point.
When it comes to price and availability, the Moto G84 offers two storage choices to cater to different user needs.
The base model, equipped with 128GB of storage, is anticipated to be priced around Rs 20,000.
On the other hand, the higher-end variant with 256GB storage is likely to come at Rs 22,000.
Adding to its accessibility, the device will likely be available for purchase via Flipkart starting from its launch date.
The design and colour options of the Moto G84 also promise to be eye-catching. The phone will come in three colours: white, black, and a unique Pantone Viva Magenta.
This magenta variant is expected to be a first in the Rs 20,000 segment, making it an appealing choice for those looking to stand out.
In terms of material, the black colour option will feature a PMMA finish, while the white and magenta options will have a vegan leather finish.
The display technology is another noteworthy aspect of this device. The Moto G84 will likely be featuring a 6.55-inch pOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1300 nits.
The pOLED technology can provide deeper blacks and vivid colours, setting it slightly apart from traditional AMOLED displays.
Under the hood, the Moto G84 is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 695 SoC, putting it in line with other devices in its range. The device is also likely to include a 5,000mAh battery with 30W charging support.
In terms of software, the Moto G84 is more than likely to keep its trend of a clean Android experience. It will ship with Android 13, with a guaranteed update to Android 14 and three years of security updates.
The phone will also come with some proprietary Motorola apps and features, including Moto Connect, to enhance user experience.
As for camera features, the Moto G84 will come with a dual-camera setup on the back. This includes a 50MP main camera with OIS and an 8MP ultra-wide camera.
In lieu of a dedicated macro or depth camera, Motorola has designed the ultra-wide camera to double as a macro camera, providing more shooting versatility.
Lastly, the Moto G84 aims to deliver a robust audio experience with its Dolby Atmos-enabled speakers. Additionally, it might also support “Moto Spatial Sound” technology to offer a surround sound audio experience.
All in all, the Moto G84 appears to offer a compelling package of features that could make it a strong contender in the budget smartphone segment.
With the launch date just around the corner, it won’t be long before we see how well these leaked features stack up against the competition.
