Recent listings on various certification sites have hinted at the imminent arrival of Motorola’s latest additions to their smartphone lineup, potentially expanding the Moto Edge 50 series.
These listings encompass a range of devices and accessories, including wireless and wired charging solutions and a new battery, suggesting a comprehensive update to Motorola’s offerings.
Specifically, four new Motorola smartphone models, identified by model numbers XT2403-1, XT2403-2, XT2403-4, and XT2403-5, have made appearances on the FCC certification site.
Additionally, models XT2403-1 and XT2431-1 were noted on the BIS certification site, with the latter’s identity still under wraps.
These models, ranging from XT2403-1 to XT2403-6, are speculated to represent various configurations of the anticipated Moto Edge 50 or Edge 50 Pro smartphones.
A notable highlight from the certifications is the inclusion of E-SIM support in the XT2403-2 model, alongside its codename “Macan24” spotted in the IMEI database.
This detail, coupled with insights from tipster Evan Glass linking the “Macan” codename to the Moto Edge 50 Pro, strongly suggests these listings could indeed be showcasing the Edge 50 Pro variant.
Moreover, Motorola’s registration of a 50W wireless charger (model MW-02), a series of wired chargers capable of delivering up to 125W of power (models MC-1250 to MC-1258), and a 4,500mAh battery (model QM45) on the TUV Rheinland site, points towards a significant leap in charging capabilities for the upcoming devices.
Although these listings shy away from divulging more detailed specs about the smartphones, the gathered information leads to the anticipation of the Moto Edge 50 Pro featuring a 4,500mAh battery along with support for both 125W wired and 50W wireless charging.
In a related development, a leak has hinted at Motorola’s plans to launch a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset-powered smartphone in the second quarter of 2024.
While official confirmation remains pending, speculation is rife that this device could debut in China as the Moto X50 and might be introduced to global markets as the Moto Edge 50 Pro.
