Microsoft Outlook Begins Displaying More Ads on iOS and Android Apps: Report

Apple made a hint about starting to display adverts in first-party apps like Books and Podcasts last week. Microsoft’s widely used email program Outlook now appears to be moving in the same way. For those who are unaware, the Outlook mobile app offers two options for organizing the inbox. The software will only display critical emails if you select the “Focused” option. Users must go to the “Other” page in order to see all emails. Microsoft has already added advertisements to the “Other” option for free users. But. The Verge recently reported that Microsoft is adding adverts to the “Focused” page as well.

The fact that the Outlook advertisements resemble typical emails is more aggravating. Additionally, more reappear to take their place when you delete them. Users are criticizing and refusing to get additional Microsoft Outlook advertisements in their inboxes on social media and in app stores.

Subscription cost

With a little notice on the right side indicating they are advertisements, the adverts are shown at the top of the inbox and seem to be authentic emails. Similar to how Instagram works, clicking on the email-like advertisement will launch a link in the in-app browser to see the content. The adverts do return after a short while, despite the fact that users may swipe them away or erase them. Unsurprisingly, a lot of people have left critical or one-star reviews on the Microsoft Outlook iOS app store page. Prior to this, free users’ ‘Other’ inboxes were the only ones that display adverts. However, during the past few months, advertisements have begun to show up in the single inbox. The simplest solution to avoid these advertisements is to pay for a Microsoft 365 subscription.

As an alternative, you may select one of the two inbox selections and transfer all of your crucial information to the “Focused” folder. The Microsoft 365 subscription is now the only method to get rid of adverts from the Microsoft Outlook cc. The annual cost of a personal membership, which only permits one user, is Rs 4,899, while the annual cost of a family subscription, which permits up to six users, is Rs 6,199.
