Handset maker Mi has pledged 3 crores to procure 1000-plus oxygen concentrators for hospitals across states, in the wake of the rising Oxygen requirement due to COVID-19 pandemic in the country. The company has also partnered with Give India to raise 1 crore for COVID warriors on mi.com.

“Given the rising medical oxygen requirements in the country during the second COVID-19 wave, we at Mi India, are pledging to donate over INR 3 crores to procure 1000+ oxygen concentrators,” said Manu Jain, MD, Mi India, in an open letter to Mi Fans.

These oxygen concentrators will be donated to hospitals and state governments where the need is the highest, for example Delhi, Maharashtra, Karnataka and few other states, he said.

This is over and above the INR 15 crores that we donated a few quarters ago to help our country fight COVID, Jain said in the letter dated April 22, 2021.

“Along with this initiative, we are also partnering with Give India to raise INR 1 cr available to support frontline COVID warriors across the country,” Jain added.

The donation page will be live on mi.com for all fans, partners and consumers to donate.

These are small steps that we are taking to support the urgent needs of the country’s healthcare system and the frontline workers who are toiling round the clock to combat the threat and impact of COVID-19, he said.

“On behalf of the entire Mi India family, I request each one of you to support one another and come together to overcome this challenge. Let’s continue to stay at home, maintain social distancing and take care of our loved ones, so that our medical community can take care of those in need. We will get through this, together,” Jain said in the letter.
