Lava has introduced the Lava Play Ultra 5G in India, expanding its Play series lineup. Built with performance and gaming in mind, the phone emphasises display quality, processing power and long-term software support. Here’s what we know about the newly launched phone.
The Lava Play Ultra 5G will go on sale starting August 25 via Amazon in Arctic Frost and Arctic Slate colour options. The 6GB + 128GB variant is priced at ₹14,999, while the 8GB + 128GB version costs ₹16,499.
With an instant ₹1,000 discount on ICICI, SBI, and HDFC cards, effective launch prices come down to ₹13,999 and ₹15,499, respectively. Buyers will also benefit from Lava’s Free Service@Home, available nationwide.
The Play Ultra 5G sports a 6.67-inch FHD+ flat AMOLED display offering a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1000 nits peak brightness. Powering the device is the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset based on a 4nm process, paired with a Mali-G615 MC2 GPU.
With MediaTek HyperEngine support, users get up to 20 percent higher FPS, improved visuals, and optimised power efficiency for extended gaming sessions.
The smartphone comes in two variants, 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM with 128GB UFS 3.1 storage, expandable up to 1TB via microSD. Virtual RAM support adds up to 8GB extra. It runs clean stock Android 15 with no preloaded bloatware. Lava has promised two major Android version updates and three years of security patches.
At the rear, the Play Ultra features a 64MP Sony IMX682 sensor with OIS, paired with a 5MP macro lens, while the front houses a 13MP selfie camera. Photography modes include Night Mode, HDR, Pro Video, Dual View Video, Macro, Panorama, Slow Motion, and Time Lapse.
The phone is equipped with a 5000mAh battery and supports 33W fast charging, with the charger included in the box. Connectivity options cover 5G SA/NSA, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, and multiple GPS systems.
Additional highlights include an in-display fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers, USB Type-C audio support and an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance.
