With this upgrade, the OnePlus 15R matches the flagship OnePlus 15, which also features a 32-megapixel selfie camera with autofocus. However, while the OnePlus 15 uses a Sony IMX709 sensor for the front camera, the OnePlus 15R is rumoured to rely on an OmniVision sensor.

OnePlus has also confirmed that the OnePlus 15R will be the first R Series smartphone to support 4K video recording at 30fps using the front camera. By comparison, the previous-generation OnePlus 13R featured a 16-megapixel selfie camera limited to 1080p video recording.

OnePlus 15R – What Else We Know So Far?

As confirmed earlier, the OnePlus 15R will sport a 1.5K AMOLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate, matching the flagship OnePlus 15. The company claims the panel offers a pixel density of 450 PPI and a peak brightness of 1,800 nits with brightness levels ranging from as low as 2 nits up to 1,800 nits.

The Detailmax Engine, which made its debut on the OnePlus 15, will also be available on the OnePlus 15R. It is said to enable three advanced camera features, which are Ultra Clear Mode, Clear Burst, and the Clear Night Engine.

On the performance front, the OnePlus 15R will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. OnePlus claims it will be the first smartphone to launch with this processor, which has been co-optimised with Qualcomm. The device is also confirmed to feature the new G2 Wi-Fi chip and a dedicated Touch Response Chip.

The OnePlus 15R will pack a massive 7,400mAh battery, making it the largest battery ever used in a OnePlus smartphone in India. According to the company, the battery will retain up to 80 per cent of its capacity even after four years of use.

Poco X8 Pro Max Tipped to Launch, Poco X8 and F8 Lineup Faces Major Changes

0

Highlights

  • The standard Poco X8 is reportedly cancelled.
  • Poco 2026 planned launches only include the Poco X8 Pro based on Redmi Turbo 5 and Poco X8 Pro Max based on Redmi Turbo 5 Pro Max.
  • Several upcoming Redmi models will be rebranded under Poco including the Poco M8 5G (Redmi Note 15 5G) and Poco M8 Pro 5G (Redmi Note 15 Pro+ 5G).

A new report suggests that smartphone brand Poco may skip a couple of expected models next year. To recall, the Poco F8 Pro and Poco F8 Ultra debuted earlier than anticipated this year. Meanwhile, recent certification sightings indicate that the M8 series could be the next lineup to launch across multiple markets.

However, according to a report from XiaomiTime, Poco is reportedly streamlining its portfolio in 2026. Here’s everything we know from the recent reports.

Poco X8 Pro Max Incoming, Standard Poco X8 Cancelled

The report is based on Mi code references and claims that several upcoming Redmi smartphones will be rebranded under the Poco branding. The Poco M8 5G is said to be a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 15 5G, while the Poco M8 Pro 5G is expected to arrive as the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ 5G under a new name.

image

In the X-series, the Poco X8 Pro is tipped to be a rebranded Redmi Turbo 5. Alongside it, Poco is reportedly preparing the Poco X8 Pro Max, which is said to be based on the Redmi Turbo 5 Pro Max. The latter is expected to launch in China first and has not been officially unveiled yet.

Notably missing from the list is the standard Poco X8. The device has not appeared in the GSMA IMEI database so far, and the report claims that the model has been cancelled. The Poco X8 was earlier expected to be a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G.

In previous generations, Poco offered up to three models in its X-series including an entry-level Neo variant. For 2026, the lineup is reportedly being reduced to just two devices, which are the Poco X8 Pro and the Poco X8 Pro Max. The report also suggests that the Poco X8 Pro could receive a special Iron Man Edition.

Poco F8 Dropped From the 2026 Lineup

The report further claims that the standard Poco F8 may not exist at all. Xiaomi’s China-exclusive Redmi K90 Pro Max and Redmi K90 have already been rebranded for global markets as the Poco F8 Ultra and Poco F8 Pro, respectively.

However, there is currently no concrete evidence to confirm the cancellation of the vanilla Poco F8.

These claims could have significant implications, especially for the Indian market. The Poco F8 was widely expected to be the only F8-series smartphone to launch in India, which continues to be one of Poco’s most important regions. It remains to be seen how these reports hold up once Poco officially reveals its upcoming smartphone lineup.

FAQS

Q1. What is happening with the Poco X8 lineup in 2026?

Answer. The Poco X8 lineup is being streamlined, with the standard Poco X8 reportedly cancelled. Instead, Poco will only launch the Poco X8 Pro, which is based on the Redmi Turbo 5, and the Poco X8 Pro Max, which is based on the Redmi Turbo 5 Pro Max. There may also be a special Iron Man Edition of the Poco X8 Pro.

Q2. Which upcoming Redmi phones are being rebranded under Poco?

Answer. According to reports, the Poco M8 5G will be a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 15 5G, while the Poco M8 Pro 5G will arrive as the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ 5G under a new name. In the X-series, the Poco X8 Pro will be a rebranded Redmi Turbo 5, and the Poco X8 Pro Max will be based on the Redmi Turbo 5 Pro Max.

Q3. Is the Poco F8 series being discontinued?

Answer. The Poco F8 Pro and Poco F8 Ultra have already launched as rebranded versions of the Redmi K90 and Redmi K90 Pro Max. However, reports suggest that the vanilla Poco F8 may be dropped from the lineup, although there is no concrete confirmation yet. This uncertainty is significant because the Poco F8 was expected to be the main F8-series device for the Indian market.

Android Phones Get Emergency Live Video Sharing Feature; New DroidLock Malware Targets Android Users

0

Highlights

  • Google has launched Android Emergency Live Video feature that allows users to share encrypted, real‑time video with first responders during emergencies.
  • The feature works on Android 8+ devices with Google Play services and is optional.
  • A new malware called DroidLock is targeting Spanish‑speaking Android users via phishing sites, locking devices, changing PINs and demanding ransom.

Google has introduced a new safety-focused feature for Android smartphones that allows users to share live video with emergency services during critical situations. Announced via a recent blog post, the feature is called Android Emergency Live Video and is designed to help users provide real-time visual information to first responders with just a single tap.

Android’s Emergency Live Video Sharing Feature

image

Caption – Users can share Live Videos during an emergency. (Image credit – Google)

The rollout has started in the United States, select regions in Germany, and Mexico. The feature is available on Android smartphones running Android 8 or later, provided Google Play services is installed on the device.

When a user makes an emergency call or sends an emergency text, responders can request live video if they believe visual context would be helpful and safe. Once the request is sent, a prompt appears on the user’s phone, allowing them to securely start sharing live video from their camera with a single tap.

According to Google, Android Emergency Live Video is encrypted by default and users remain in full control throughout the process. Sharing video is entirely optional and can be stopped instantly at any time. The real-time video feed can also enable emergency responders to guide users through potentially life-saving steps, such as performing CPR, until help arrives on the scene.

CEO Sundar Pichai share the details of the new feature on X.

New DroidLock Malware Threat to Android Users

Separately, Android users are also being warned about a new and dangerous malware strain known as DroidLock. Newly uncovered research by mobile security firm Zimperium reveals that the malware is actively targeting Spanish-speaking users by locking them out of their devices and demanding a ransom.

Attackers are reportedly using phishing websites that appear to be legitimate Android app download pages. These sites trick users into installing fake apps that function as droppers, secretly downloading a second malicious component in the background.

Once activated, DroidLock can take full control of an Android device. Victims are locked out of their phones with a ransom message warning that all files will be deleted within 24 hours unless payment is made. While the malware does not encrypt data, it can change the device’s PIN, password, or biometric settings, effectively making the phone inaccessible.

Researchers say DroidLock abuses device administrator privileges to carry out harmful actions, including wiping data, muting notifications, and capturing photos using the front camera without the user’s knowledge. The malware also displays a fake Android update screen to block user interaction while it performs malicious activities in the background. In some cases, it can record and send on-screen activity to a remote server.

Android users are advised to stay alert, avoid downloading apps from untrusted sources and carefully review app permissions before installation to reduce the risk of infection from threats like DroidLock.

FAQs

Q1. What is Android Emergency Live Video and where is it available?

Answer. It’s a new safety feature that lets users share encrypted live video with emergency services during critical situations. The rollout has begun in the US, Germany, and Mexico on devices running Android 8 or later with Google Play services.

Q2. How does the Android Emergency Live Video feature work?

Answer. When making an emergency call or text, responders can request live video. Users get a prompt and can choose to share video securely with one tap, stop anytime, and allow responders to guide them through life‑saving steps like CPR.

Q3. What is DroidLock malware and how does it affect Android users?

Answer. DroidLock is a new malware targeting Spanish‑speaking users via phishing sites. It locks devices, changes PINs or passwords, demands ransom, and can secretly record activity. It abuses admin privileges, fakes update screens, and threatens to delete files within 24 hours if payment isn’t made.

The transaction remains subject to the negotiation of definitive agreements, necessary corporate and board approvals, and customary closing conditions.

Announcing the partnership, Robert A. Iger, CEO, The Walt Disney Company said, “Technological innovation has continually shaped the evolution of entertainment, bringing with it new ways to create and share great stories with the world.”

“The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence marks an important moment for our industry, and through this collaboration with OpenAI we will thoughtfully and responsibly extend the reach of our storytelling through generative AI, while respecting and protecting creators and their works. Bringing together Disney’s iconic stories and characters with OpenAI’s groundbreaking technology puts imagination and creativity directly into the hands of Disney fans in ways we’ve never seen before, giving them richer and more personal ways to connect with the Disney characters and stories they love,” Iger further added.

Sharing excitement, Sam Altman, co-founder and CEO of OpenAI, added, “Disney is the global gold standard for storytelling, and we’re excited to partner to allow Sora and ChatGPT Images to expand the way people create and experience great content. A new end-of-year trend dubbed “Twitter Wrapped 2025” is gaining traction on X. Users are turning to Grok for personalised yearly summaries in the absence of an official wrap-up feature like Spotify Wrapped. These AI-generated recaps highlight commonly used words, recurring themes such as Ariana Grande, driving lessons, or viral moments, and notable posts from the year, though they appear to focus more heavily on recent activity.

Requests for these summaries have been pouring in from users across the globe with Spanish-language prompts leading the trend, followed by French, Portuguese, and other languages. The lighthearted responses from Grok have transformed the trend into a community-driven reflection on a year dominated by elections, major sporting events, and internet memes.

How Users are Generating Twitter Wrapped 2025 with Grok?

X users, both verified and non-verified, have reported success in generating their own “Twitter Wrapped” for 2025 by publicly tagging Grok. Posting the prompt “Generate my twitter wrapped for 2025 @grok” often triggers a reply from the AI chatbot, offering a personalised snapshot of the user’s activity on the platform over the year.

image

However, several users have noted inconsistent results when attempting to generate the same summary directly through the Grok bot interface. Requests such as “Generate my Twitter Wrapped for 2025” inside the bot reportedly return no output.

To try generating a Twitter Wrapped 2025, users can follow these steps:

  • Open X app
  • Create a new public post writing “Generate my Twitter Wrapped for 2025 @grok”
  • Publish the post.

Grok may respond with a customised wrapped summary. Based on current replies we can see, the response may include details like top posting themes, engagement peaks, total post count and other behavioural insights.

Feature Remains Unofficial

It is worth noting that X has not officially announced a “Twitter Wrapped” feature. This means the availability and accuracy may vary. The feature does not seem to work reliably through the Grok bot interface.

ToI Tech Desk, its report, revealed that their team had attempted to generate a Twitter Wrapped 2025 using the Grok bot but did not receive a standard wrap-up.

FAQs

Q1. What is Twitter Wrapped 2025?

Answer. It’s an unofficial end‑of‑year trend on X where users tag Grok to generate AI‑powered yearly recaps of their activity, similar to Spotify Wrapped.

Q2. How can users generate their own Twitter Wrapped 2025?

Answer. By posting publicly on X with the prompt “Generate my Twitter Wrapped for 2025 @grok”, which often triggers Grok to reply with a personalised summary including top themes, engagement peaks, and post counts.

Q3. Is Twitter Wrapped 2025 an official feature of X?

Answer. No. X has not officially announced a Wrapped feature. Grok’s responses are community‑driven and may vary, with inconsistent results reported when using the bot interface directly.

It has already been confirmed that the OnePlus 15R will debut in India on December 17, alongside the OnePlus Pad Go 2. Ahead of the official announcement, fresh leaks are shedding light on its pricing and key specifications. Slotted below the flagship OnePlus 15, the new 15R model is expected to continue OnePlus’ strategy of offering near-flagship performance at a relatively lower price.

However, the latest leak suggests that the OnePlus 15R may arrive at a higher price point than many had anticipated.

OnePlus 15R – Expected Price in India

According to tipster Paras Guglani @passionategeekz on X, the OnePlus 15R could be priced between Rs 47,000 and Rs 49,000 for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant. The top-end 12GB + 512GB model is said to cross Rs 52,000. With bank offers, buyers may get an additional discount of around Rs 3,000–Rs 4,000, potentially bringing the effective starting price close to Rs 44,000 for eligible card users.

The OnePlus Ace 6T, the China-exclusive model on which the 15R is reportedly based, starts at roughly Rs 33,000 in China. While taxes and market positioning increase the Indian pricing, the 15R is still expected to undercut the OnePlus 15, which starts at Rs 72,999.

OnePlus 15R – What to Expect?

The OnePlus 15R is confirmed to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, placing it firmly in the flagship performance category. Benchmark listings also suggest a 12GB RAM configuration. OnePlus has already teased a 165Hz refresh rate, matching the display refresh rate of the flagship OnePlus 15. If it mirrors the Ace 6T, the phone could feature a 1.5K AMOLED display with high peak brightness and improved eye-comfort optimisations.

Design-wise, the OnePlus 15R is confirmed to launch in Charcoal Black and Minty Green colour options. It is said to feature a square camera module, flat-edge frame, and impressive IP66–IP69K dust and water resistance ratings, making it one of the most rugged smartphones in OnePlus’ current lineup.

On the camera front, the device is expected to feature a 50MP primary sensor alongside an 8MP ultra-wide camera, while the front could house a 16MP selfie shooter. There is also speculation around support for 4K video recording at up to 120fps.

Battery capacity is expected to be one of the biggest highlights. The OnePlus 15R is tipped to pack a massive 7,400mAh battery, making it the largest battery ever seen on a OnePlus smartphone. While charging details are yet to be officially confirmed, the Ace 6T supports 100W fast charging and similar speeds are anticipated.

Vivo is gearing up to unveil the Vivo S50 and Vivo S50 Pro Mini in China on December 15. While the company has already shared key details of the Pro Mini variant, the standard Vivo S50 has remained largely under wraps. But that changes now. A new listing on China Telecom has revealed the full specifications of the upcoming smartphone, just days before its official debut. Meanwhile, we also have a new update on the upcoming Vivo V70 Series. Here’s what we know.

According to the China Telecom database via Gizmochina, the Vivo S50 will feature a 6.59-inch OLED display offering a 1.5K resolution (2750 × 1260 pixels) along with a likely 120Hz refresh rate. The handset will also include an in-display fingerprint sensor.

On the back, the device sports a triple-camera setup comprising a 50MP primary lens, an 8MP secondary camera and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens powered by the Sony IMX882 sensor. For selfies, the phone will come equipped with a 50MP front camera.

Powering the smartphone is the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, paired with LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. The listing confirms three variants – 12GB + 256GB, 12GB + 512GB, and 16GB + 512GB.

The Vivo S50 packs a 6,500mAh battery with 90W fast charging, as confirmed via its 3C certification. The smartphone is expected to run Android 16 with OriginOS 6 on top.

In terms of build quality, Vivo has revealed that the S50 features an aerospace-grade aluminium frame. It may also offer IP68/69 dust and water resistance and will be available in Space Black, Confession White, Inspirational Purple, and Serene Blue colour options.

Vivo V70 Series – No 4G Models, New V70 Elite and V70 FE Variants Incoming

Vivo is also preparing its V70 series, expected to launch in early 2026. Until now, only the V70 and V70 Lite were spotted on certification sites. However, a new leak adds two more models to the lineup, Vivo V70 Elite and Vivo V70 FE.

Tipster Paras Guglani @passionategeekz on X claims the 2026 series will not feature any Pro or Pro+ models, similar to the previous generation. Surprisingly, the lineup will also skip a V70e model, despite the V60 series offering multiple versions such as the V60 Lite 4G, V60 Lite 5G, and V60e.

Another major change is that every V70 model will support 5G connectivity, whereas Vivo previously released Lite variants with both 4G and 5G options depending on the market.

According to the leak –

  • Vivo V70 is likely to launch in India.
  • V70 Lite and V70 Elite may be released globally.
  • V70 FE might also arrive in India, though this remains uncertain.

Vivo V70 – What to Expect?

Details on the V70 lineup are still limited, but reports suggest that the standard Vivo V70 could be a rebranded Vivo S50. If true, it might share several specifications, including:

  • 5K 120Hz display
  • 50MP triple-camera setup with a 3x optical zoom telephoto lens
  • 50MP front camera
  • 6,500mAh battery
  • 90W wired charging
  • IP69 rating
