The launch timeline for Google’s Pixel phones has changed over the years. While the first few models were announced in October, Google has since played around with earlier or later dates. Last year, the Pixel 9 series arrived in mid-August, and it looks like Google is sticking to that schedule for the Pixel 10 series.

According to X (formerly Twitter) leaker @MysteryLupin, who has a solid track record, the Pixel 10 series will be unveiled on August 13, exactly the same date as last year’s launch.

However, Android Headlines reports a different date. Their sources claim the event has been pushed back to August 20, with shipments starting August 28. The source told them the date had “moved back a week.”

This comes despite Google inviting a group of “Superfans” to preview its upcoming products at the end of June, sparking rumours of an early launch. But it now seems that won’t be the case.

As for what to expect, the Pixel 10 lineup is likely to bring only modest updates. The biggest change could be the new Tensor G5 chip, which will reportedly be built by TSMC. Leaks suggest the Pixel 10, 10 Pro, 10 Pro XL and 10 Pro Fold will look very similar to the Pixel 9 series. However, some camera and display improvements are rumoured to be on the way.

All Pixel 10 Series Colours Leaked

In a separate leak, Android Headlines has also revealed the colour options for the full Pixel 10 lineup.

The standard Pixel 10 will come in four shades, which are Ultra Blue, Limoncello, Iris and Midnight. The Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL will be available in Sterling Grey, Light Porcelain, Midnight and Smoky Green.

Meanwhile, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is expected in just two colours including Sterling Grey and Smoky Green.

For fans of Pixel colour names, Midnight is replacing Obsidian as the darkest option, but it’s said to be lighter, more of a dark grey than true black. Sterling Grey is even lighter.

Ultra Blue is described as “royal blue,” Iris is the same shade used on the Pixel 9a, and Limoncello is “a mid-tone colour.” Light Porcelain is a softer off-white, and Smoky Green is a deep green tone.

This is a major moment for gamers worldwide, especially since it marks Nintendo’s first new console release in nearly ten years. But multiple market reports have hinted that just because launch day has arrived doesn’t mean getting your hands on one will be easy.

Launch Day Rush – Getting the Switch 2 Might Be Tough

While some lucky fans who pre-ordered the Nintendo Switch 2 are already celebrating, others are still scrambling to find one. The demand has been huge especially in the U.S., where many major retailers sold out of their pre-order stock within minutes.

The Verge report reveals, “So far, Walmart, GameStop, Best Buy, and Target have all confirmed that they will have limited console stock on Thursday, June 5th (or earlier, depending on your location). The same retailers will also have the new Switch 2 Pro Controller, the Switch 2 camera, first-party carrying cases, and other launch-day accessories.”

Another user on bsky shared a video of a long customer queue and wrote, “There are now over 400 people in line for Switch 2 at my local Best Buy in the smallish town of Union City, CA.”

Still, don’t lose hope as retailers are expected to restock on launch day. If you missed out earlier, you might still be able to grab one if you’re quick.

If you’re in the UK or visiting, stores like Currys, Argos, The Game Collection, John Lewis and Amazon are your best bets. These retailers are already offering pre-orders and are likely to get launch day stock too.

AirPods Could Get Sleep Detection, Camera Control, New Gestures and More at WWDC25: Report

0

Highlights

  • Apple may introduce AirPods with expanded head gestures for controlling volume adjustments and auto-pause playback when users fall asleep.
  • Users might snap photos using AirPods, while a new high-quality mic mode could turn AirPods into studio-level audio devices.
  • The aim is to improve AirPods pairing with shared iPads, making them more seamless in classrooms.

image

We recently had an exclusive look at the expected iOS 26 updates, which could be announced during the upcoming WWDC25 keynote. Now, the same folks from 9to5Mac, who were behind that exclusive, have shared an exclusive leak about the five new AirPods features Apple is reportedly working on. Here’s what we know.

New Head Gestures

Apple first introduced head gestures with AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods 4, letting users nod “up and down or side to side to accept or decline Announce Calls and to interact with or dismiss Announce Notifications without using your hands”.

image

Caption – Control AirPods with head gestures. (Image credit – Apple/9to5Mac)

Now, Apple is said to be working on even more head gesture options. One upcoming feature may let users end the Conversation Awareness volume adjustment, where AirPods lower the volume during a conversation, using a simple head movement.

Currently, you can end this mode by “pressing and holding on the AirPods stem or swiping up on the stem”, but soon a gesture could do the same.

Sleep Auto-Pause

If you often fall asleep while wearing your AirPods, this one’s for you. Apple is reportedly developing a feature that can detect when a user has fallen asleep and automatically pause playback.

While it’s unclear if this will work independently or alongside the Apple Watch’s sleep tracking, it promises to be a helpful addition, especially since not all apps offer built-in sleep timers.

Camera Control

Apple is also working on bringing camera controls to AirPods. Similar to the old wired EarBuds, this feature would let users snap a photo on their iPhone or iPad with a click on the AirPods stem.

While it might feel odd to touch your ear every time you take a photo, the functionality will be handy, whether you’re snapping selfies or just holding one AirPod casually.

Audio Mix for AirPods

Last year, Apple introduced Audio Mix with the iPhone 16. It “uses machine learning to identify and separate background elements from speech and lets you choose from three voice options,” In-frame, Studio, and Cinematic.

Now, Apple is working on bringing a similar high-quality mic mode to AirPods. This would make AirPods more appealing to creators by turning them into a viable alternative to lavalier mics for studio-quality audio.

Improved Classroom Support

Apple is also planning improvements for using AirPods in classrooms. A new feature aims to make it easier to pair AirPods with shared iPads, a common setup in schools. This should reduce the need for manual steps and create a smoother experience for students using the same device.

As always, Apple could decide to delay or tweak these features before they’re officially announced. But if even a few make the cut, WWDC25 could bring big upgrades to existing AirPods models without the need to buy new hardware.

WWDC25 – What Else to Expect?

At WWDC25, Apple is expected to unveil major updates across all platforms including iOS 26, macOS 26, iPadOS 26 and watchOS 26. With AI expected to take a back seat this year, Apple may focus more on design refreshes and long-awaited features like better window management on iPad.

FAQs

Q1. How will AirPods detect when a user falls asleep?

Answer. Apple is reportedly developing a sleep auto-pause feature, which can detect when a user has fallen asleep and automatically pause playback.

Q2. What new gesture controls are coming to AirPods?

Answer. Apple may introduce expanded head gestures to end Conversation Awareness volume adjustments, eliminating the need to press or swipe the AirPods stem.

Q3. How will AirPods work as a camera control device?

Answer. Apple is working on a feature that will let users snap photos on iPhone or iPad with a click on the AirPods stem, similar to how wired EarBuds used to function.

WhatsApp Might Soon Let You Create Your Own AI Chatbots

0

Highlights

  • WhatsApp is testing AI Studio allowing users to build chatbots by writing prompts, selecting personality traits and assigning roles.
  • The feature was spotted in WhatsApp beta (v2.25.18.4) for Android.
  • Users can edit avatars, interact with ready-made AI bots, or create their own.
  • While sharing chatbots isn’t confirmed, it is expected since Meta has similar implementations on Instagram and Messenger.

WhatsApp is testing a new AI feature that could let users create their own custom chatbots right inside the app. A trusted source for WhatsApp Beta updates has revealed how Meta is slowly rolling out this feature to some beta testers on Android. Although there is no official confirmation, more users may get access in the coming weeks.

WhatsApp Users Might Be Able Create Own AI Chatbots

image

According to the recent WABetaInfo report, this new tool is powered by Meta’s AI Studio, which already supports chatbot creation on Instagram and Messenger. The feature was spotted in the WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.25.18.4, available through the Play Store.

It appears under a new “AI Studio” tab, where users can either interact with ready-made AI bots or build their own.

To create a chatbot, users will first need to write a detailed prompt of up to 1,000 characters, describing what the bot is for and what it should do. After that, users can choose personality traits for the bot. WhatsApp will offer suggestions based on the prompt, but users can also add their own. They’ll also need to pick a role for the bot, such as helper, mentor, or teacher.

Once done, users can choose an avatar. WhatsApp will suggest one, but users can edit it or generate a new one using text prompts.

Once all these steps are complete, AI Studio will build the custom chatbot and users can start chatting with it directly.

There’s whether users will be able to share their chatbots with others, but since this is possible on Instagram and Messenger, it’s likely to come to WhatsApp too. As of now, the feature remains in beta, with no timeline for a full rollout.

FAQs

Q1. What is WhatsApp’s new AI chatbot feature?

Answer. WhatsApp is testing AI Studio, allowing users to create custom AI chatbots by writing detailed prompts, selecting personality traits, and assigning roles.

Q2. How do users build their own chatbot in WhatsApp?

Answer. Users must write a detailed prompt (up to 1,000 characters) describing the bot’s purpose, choose personality traits, select a role (e.g., helper, mentor), and pick an avatar.

Q3. Can users share their custom AI chatbots with others?

Answer. WhatsApp has not confirmed chatbot sharing yet, but since Instagram and Messenger support this, it’s likely that WhatsApp will add it in the future.

Google Pixel 10 Series Will Likely Bring Gimbal-Like Camera Stabilisation Feature

It appears to be a week of Google Pixel 10 updates. While we just had a confirmation about a possible launch date and leaks have also confirmed some of the key features we can expect, more updates are pouring in. A new report suggests Google’s upcoming Pixel 10 series might take smartphone video to the next level.

According to a recent Android Headlines report, the new Pixel 10 lineup will come with a powerful stabilisation system that aims to deliver gimbal-like performance, without the need for any extra hardware like the DJI Osmo Mobile 6.

Gimbal-Level Stabilisation for All Pixel 10 Models

The entire Pixel 10 family including the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pro XL, and Pro Fold is expected to feature this advanced camera stabilisation technology. While previous Pixel models already offered solid video stabilisation, this update could be a big leap forward.

The new system is designed to work directly within the camera hardware and software, bringing physical gimbal-level smoothness to handheld video.

Interestingly, the Pixel 10 series is rumoured to use the same camera sensors as the Pixel 9 lineup. The major hardware upgrade is a telephoto lens on the standard Pixel 10, something that wasn’t available in past base models.

Combine this with Google’s powerful video software tools like Video Boost and the result could be a huge improvement in mobile videography.

Launch Timeline

Google is expected to officially unveil the Pixel 10 series at its “Made by Google” event on August 20. Pre-orders are likely to open the same day and shipping will start from August 28.

The dates haven’t been confirmed by Google yet, but an official announcement should be coming soon.

FAQs

Q1. What is the new video stabilisation feature in the Pixel 10 series?

Answer. The Pixel 10 lineup will feature a powerful stabilisation system, delivering gimbal-like smoothness for handheld videos without the need for external hardware.

Q2. What camera upgrades are expected in the Pixel 10 models?

Answer. The Pixel 10 series retains Pixel 9’s camera sensors, but the standard Pixel 10 will gain a telephoto lens, a first for base models, enhancing zoom capabilities.

Q3. When will the Pixel 10 series launch?

Answer. Google is expected to officially unveil the Pixel 10 series on August 20, with pre-orders opening the same day, and shipping beginning August 28.

The setup also includes Huawei’s XMAGE branding and an LED flash on a triangular camera module. Leaks also suggest the Pura 80 Pro might feature a SmartSens 1-inch sensor, hinting at a flagship camera experience across the lineup.

Design-wise, the Pura 80 series will evolve the rounded triangular (shield-like) camera module seen on the Pura 70 series. This time, it’s expected to be even larger and more prominent, especially on the Pura 80 Ultra, which might house two periscope telephoto cameras.

New Kirin 9020 Chip

The phones will be powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 9020 chip. Built on the same 7nm SMIC process as the Kirin 9010, the 9020 offers several improvements, which includes the following –

  • Support for LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage
  • Upgraded Balong 6000 modem with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4
  • AI capabilities handled by Huawei’s Da Vinci NPU

HarmonyOS 5 with AI at Its Core

On the software side, the Pura 80 series will run HarmonyOS 5, which puts a strong focus on AI integration. The new OS is powered by Huawei’s Pangu large language model and includes –

  • Better system smoothness
  • Refined UI design
  • Improved cross-device functionality
  • A more independent app ecosystem based on the HarmonyOS NEXT platform

Apple is all set to reveal iOS 26 at WWDC25 on Monday, June 9 at 1 PM ET.  While all eyes will be on the biggest design overhaul since iOS 7, there’s a lot more happening behind the scenes. Along with a fresh new look and some rebranded operating systems, reports now suggest Apple has also been working on updates for everyday apps like Messages, Music, Notes and CarPlay.

According to an exclusive 9to5Mac report, here are some of the low-key but exciting features that could be announced as part of iOS 26

Automatic Message Translation

Apple is adding automatic translation to Messages, allowing both incoming and outgoing texts to be translated on the fly. While it might not match the real-time dubbing seen in Google Meet or Microsoft Teams just yet, this could still be a game-changer for anyone chatting across languages.

Polls in Messages

Apple is finally catching up to apps like WhatsApp, Telegram, and Slack by working on polls in Messages. Even better, Apple Intelligence might play a role here, suggesting poll formats based on your chat. It’s one of those quality-of-life features that just makes sense.

Animated Lock Screen Art in Music

The Now Playing widget on the Lock Screen recently got a visual upgrade, and now Apple is taking things further. With iOS 26, you can expect full-screen animated album art on your Lock Screen, a stylish, dynamic touch that enhances the listening experience.

Markdown Export in Notes

For those who love writing in Markdown, Apple Notes is finally adding Markdown export support. While this might be a niche addition, it’s a long-requested feature that brings Apple Notes closer to third-party alternatives.

CarPlay Gets a UI Refresh

CarPlay is also getting a design update to match the new iOS 26 look.

The redesign will apply to the regular (non-Ultra) CarPlay, not just the newer CarPlay Ultra. While the full extent of the changes is still unknown, Apple is reportedly working on multiple interface tweaks to bring it in line with the rest of the ecosystem.

WWDC25 – What To Expect?

Apple is expected to announce updates across all major platforms including iOS 26, macOS 26, iPadOS 26, watchOS 26, tvOS 26, and visionOS.

While AI might not be the main focus this year, expect major design upgrades and long-requested features like better window management on iPad.
