Instagram is rolling out a live location-sharing feature making it easier for friends and family to coordinate meetups directly through the app.
Similar to Apple’s Find My Friends, this new feature allows users to share their real-time location for a set period with added privacy measures.
Apart from this, Metahas announced a few other cool features to make the experience on the app a lot more fun.
Here’s a quick round-up of all newly introduced features.
Instagram Allows Live Location Sharing
Instagram now allows users to share their live location in DMs for up to 1 hour. (Image credit – Instagram)
As announced by Meta in a detailed blog post, live location sharing will work through Instagram DMs.
“Spend more time together, and less time coordinating,” Meta wrote in this blog post. The feature is designed for private sharing, meaning users can only send their location individually or in group chats.
Here’s how it works:
Location sharing is turned off by default.
Users can share their real-time location for one hour at a time, after which sharing stops automatically.
A visual indicator will show when a location is being shared.
Unlike Apple’s Find My, Instagram doesn’t allow continuous location sharing. Meta had previously tested a Snap Map-like feature to display friends’ locations on a map, but it hasn’t been launched yet.
New DM Features Now Available on Instagram
Along with location sharing, Instagram is introducing two fun updates for DMs: new sticker packs and customisable nicknames.

Instagramnow offers 17 new sticker packs with over 300 stickers to make chats more expressive. Users can favourite stickers for quick reuse, including those shared by friends or created using image cutouts.
Nicknames
Instagram now allows users to customise names in DMs by putting nicknames to friends. (Image credit – Instagram)
To personalise group chats, users can now assign nicknames to themselves or friends. These nicknames appear only in private chats and don’t affect public profiles.
Here’s how users can set nicknames:
Open the chat and tap its name at the top.
Select “Nicknames.”
Choose the contact and assign a nickname.
By default, only people you follow can change nicknames but this can be adjusted in settings.
With these updates, Instagram aims to make conversations more personal and planning get-togethers easier while keeping user privacy on priority.

Realme GT 7 Pro – Design and Build Quality
Realme GT 7 Pro – Design and Build Quality
Realme GT 7 Pro comes in a striking design form that stands out for its matte metallic finish and glass-like back.
We had the Galaxy Grey colour variant for this review and it has a classic vibe. It looks trendy and stylish.
The camera module is slightly different from our regular camera bumps. The metallic border of the camera module matches the back perfectly.
We also like how the aluminium frame of the phone subtly colour-coordinates. The camera module is also very tastefully designed.
It doesn’t stick out too much and yet makes the back of the phone attractive.
The phone isn’t too heavy even with 222.8g weight, which is a pleasant surprise considering how powerful some of the hardware including the battery is.
It fits perfectly in the palm and we had no issues with one-hand operation.
The flat boxy form of the phone makes it easier to hold.
The phone is also designed to last. It comes with an IP69 rating, which protects the phone against high temperature and high-pressure water.
Overall, we love the subtle design elements of the Realme GT 7 Pro.
There is nothing too fancy and yet it keeps the flagship aesthetic intact. It looks like a flagship device from all aspects.
Realme GT 7 Pro – Display
Realme GT 7 Pro – Display
First of all, the display of Realme GT 7 Pro adds to the overall look of the phone. The 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED 1440p 120Hz refresh rate display of Realme GT 7 Pro is strikingly clear and makes everything on screen sharp.
It is also the first Eco² OLED Plus display co-developed with Samsung.
This flat but slightly curved around-the-edge display is one of the brightest and sharpest displays available in the flagship space.
On paper, Realmeclaims it offers a typical brightness of 1000 nits and peak of 6500 nits.
We tested the High Brightness Mode with a flashlight directly on the screen it reaches up to 2200 nits when needed.
Thanks to the 120Hz refresh rate along with LTPO tech, swiping and scrolling on Realme GT 7 Pro is super smooth.
The display also provides support for HDR 10+ content and Dolby Vision videos.
Realme GT 7 Pro – Performance
Realme GT 7 Pro – Performance
The Realme GT 7 Pro is the first Snapdragon 8 Elite flagship smartphone in India.
This advanced processor enables flagship smartphone experiences with a new 2+6 Oryon CPU and leading Hexagon NPU.
It is built on TSMC 3nm Process, 4.32GHz Prime-core x2 and 3.52GHz Performance-core x.
We tested the phone on multiple benchmarking platforms and it performed significantly better than many other flagship devices out there.
On Antutu Benchmark, it scored close to 3 million while scoring 45% single-core improvement and 45% multi-core improvement on GeekBench 6.
It also scores 44% power saving on the CPU and 40% power saving on the GPU compared with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.

There shouldn’t be any doubt that the powerful Realme GT 7 Pro is designed keeping in mind the gamers out there.
The phone’s flagship hardware along with the advanced AI capabilities make it a perfect machine for heavy gamers.
It has AI Gaming Super Resolution & Frame, which helps in achieving game visuals with AI perception that promises a next-level gaming experience with 1.5K resolution and 120fps frame.
Realme claims that this tech combination has the capability to break through the original game’s resolution and frame rate limitations.
The phone also comes with 11480mm² Iceberg VC, which is segment’s largest dual VC system.
This cooling system helps keep things under control during long gaming sessions.
However, we performed some stress tests on the device and we did notice heavy thermal throttling.
Realme GT 7 Pro – Camera
Realme GT 7 Pro – Camera
Realme GT 7 Pro packs a triple camera setup that includes a 50MP main lens, a 50MP 3X telephoto lens and an 8MP ultra-wide lens.
The camera performance is at par with what anyone would expect from a phone of this calibre.
In broad daylight with optimum lighting, the phone captures beautiful and vibrant images.
The details are clear with no visible noise in almost all shots we clicked using the GT 7 Pro and processing provides good enhancements without overdoing it like we have seen in some flagships earlier.
As for night photography, the camera processing makes sure enough light reaches the lens. Even in limited lighting, the phone managed to click decently lit images with clarity and almost no noise.
The camera system also has a good dynamic range and colours appear natural with no visible oversaturation.
Here are some camera samples we clicked in different lighting conditions.
Realme GT 7 Pro Day Light Camera Samples
Realme GT 7 Pro Night Camera Samples
The main lens of the camera system supports 8K/24fps video recording while the telephoto lens supports 4K/30fps and 60fps.
As for the ultra-wide and front lens, both support 1080P/30fps or 60fps options.
The videos captured from the phone are clear and sharp. The video stabilisation is also quite good compared to some other phones in the segment.
Here are some sample videos –
Realme GT 7 Pro Day Light Video
Realme GT 7 Pro Night Video
The camera settings also have a dedicated underwater shooting mode that allows the phone to capture moments underwater perfectly.
The mode can also activate automatically when the phone is submerged in water.
Realme GT 7 Pro – Battery and Charging
Realme GT 7 Pro has smashed it in the battery department packing a massive 6500mAh battery with this flagship device.
It is one of the largest batteries one can get on any smartphone in the market.
As we extensively used the phone for hours, battery support was undeniable. We can expect the battery to provide support for around 20 hours on a single charge easily.
The phone also supports 120W ultra charge support.
This can actually shoot up the battery to almost 90 per cent charge from close to zero within 30 to 35 minutes of charging.
Some battery stats –
13mins charge to 50%,
37mins charge to 100%
Charing 1min – Standby 20h, Call 1h
Charging 5mins – Standby 124h, Call 7h
However, we wish there was wireless charging support as that would make it a perfect flagship phone in the battery department.

Three men died after their car plunged into the Ramganga River.

Three men travelling to a wedding met with a tragic end when their hired taxi plunged into the Ramganga River from an unfinished bridge in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday.
The victims were reportedly relying on Google Maps to navigate the route from Gurugram to Bareilly.
However, the GPS led them onto an incomplete bridge over the Ramganga River, which had partially collapsed in 2022 due to a flood.
The mangled vehicle and the bodies of the three men were discovered by local authorities around 9:30 a.m. on Sunday.
The police identified two of the victims as Amit and Vivek from Imadpur in Farrukhabad, while the identity of the third remains unknown.
The incident occurred near Dataganj in Badaun district.

“At 9:30 am today, a damaged car was found on the river Ramganga. Police were informed and arrived at the spot. When the police arrived, they saw a Wagon R, which was possibly hired as a taxi, on the river. The car went to the incomplete bridge and fell into a river from there,” police said.
“The bodies were found and taken for post-mortem. The identities of two people, Amit and Vivek, were confirmed. More details on the identity of the third one are being worked on,” police added.
Relatives of the victims and social media users have criticised local officials for the lack of barricades or warning signs on the unfinished bridge. Many believe the tragedy could have been avoided with proper precautions.

While some reports point fingers at Google Maps for misguiding the travellers, users online clarified that the alleged route does not appear on the app unless viewed in satellite mode.

Meanwhile, some conflicting reports also emerged online with some suggesting the victims were travelling from Bareilly to Dataganj rather than Gurugram.
Hindustan Times quoted a Circle Area Officer who confirmed that the bridge had been damaged earlier this year by flooding. Dense fog was also cited in some reports as a possible factor contributing to the accident.
This tragic incident highlights the pressing need for updated GPS data, improved infrastructure and proper warning systems to prevent such avoidable accidents.

The vanilla Nothing Phone (3) may have a 6.5-inch display while the Pro variant could have a 6.7-inch display.
The launch reportedly has been pushed to 2025.

Nothing Phone (3) appeared on Geekbench with model number A059. (Screenshot credit – 91Mobiles)
The Nothing Phone (3) with the model number A059 appears to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset paired with 8GB of RAM.
On GeekBench, it scored 1,149 points in the single-core test and 2,813 in the multi-core test.
The listing also confirms that the device will run Android 15 with Nothing OS 3.0 as its custom skin.
Interestingly, the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 marks a departure from the flagship Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip used in the Nothing Phone (2).
This suggests the Phone (3) might return to a mid-range positioning, similar to the Phone (1).
However, this could also indicate that the Phone (3) is the base model in a potential series.
Earlier leaks hinted at two Nothing devices on the IMEI database, which most likely included the standard Phone (3) with model number A059 and a more powerful Pro variant with model number A059P.
Reports suggest the Pro model could feature the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset and possibly be branded as the Nothing Phone (3)+.

Galaxy Z Flip7 to Debut Exynos 2500 Chipset
According to tipster Jukanlosreve, the Galaxy Z Flip7 is expected to feature Samsung’s upcoming Exynos 2500 chipset.
This marks a shift from the Snapdragon processors used in earlier foldables like the Z Flip6.

Samsung has been facing some issues with the manufacturing of its 3nm chips.
Samsung has been facing some issues with the manufacturing of its 3nm chips. The decision to equip the Z Flip7 with the 3nm Exynos 2500 instead of the Galaxy S25 series launching in January 2025 seems fair.
It suggests the company is aiming to refine its production yield and reduce costs before ramping up mass production.
While Samsung’s foldables have previously relied on Qualcomm chips, the plan to use Exynos seems to be a significant one.
It will be interesting to see how the Exynos 2500 compares in performance and power efficiency.

We recently reported about expected SIRI upgrades with iOS 19 that Apple is reportedly working on. It appears Apple fans may need to wait longer for some highly anticipated iOS 19 features.
According to Bloomberg’s trusted Apple reporter Mark Gurman, a significant number of features that were originally planned for the iOS 19 update have now been pushed to roll out with iOS 19.4 in spring 2026 instead.
For anyone who is familiar with how Apple pans out its iOS update, this approach wouldn’t feel anything new.
The company is currently following a similar pattern with iOS 18, where the revamped Siri powered by Apple Intelligence is scheduled for iOS 18.4 arriving next spring.
While Gurman didn’t specify which features are being postponed, he mentioned the delays extend beyond the new AI-driven Siri.
“I’m told that a larger-than-usual number of features scheduled for iOS 19 (beyond the new Siri) are already postponed until spring 2026 (when iOS 19.4 debuts),” Gurman shared.
Apple is reportedly working on a new “LLM Siri” for iOS 19. This advanced version of Siri will have capabilities closer to ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini.
According to Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, Apple has reportedly postponed a high number of iOS 19 features for a later iOS 19.4 release.
However, it’s set to launch just months before iOS 20 is unveiled in 2026, leaving a long wait for users eager to see its full potential.
Gurman previously shared, “The revamped Siri will rely on new Apple AI models to interact more like a human and handle tasks in a way that’s closer to ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini. It also will make expanded use of App Intents, which allow for more precise control of third-party apps. And the software will be able to tap into features from Apple Intelligence such as the ability to write and summarize text.”
iOS 19 is expected to debut at Apple’s annual WWDC event in June 2025 with the public release slated for September.
This rollout will coincide with the launch of the iPhone 17 models including the highly anticipated iPhone 17 Air featuring a brand-new design.
As of now, iOS 18.2 is adding ChatGPT integration to Siri with plans for Google’s Gemini to follow in later updates.
iOS 18.4 is due next spring when it will bring on-screen awareness, deeper app-specific controls and other enhancements to Siri.
However, it won’t fully match the conversational AI abilities of ChatGPT just yet.
Apple’s advanced Siri may reduce users’ reliance on third-party AI services like ChatGPT and Gemini once iOS 19.4 is released.
However, with a release still over a year and a half away, users will need to rely on external platforms for advanced AI interactions in the meantime.
