Done with flip and folds, it appears tri-folds are soon going to be a new trend! Samsung is reportedly gearing up for a big year in 2025 with plans to release four foldable devices including its first-ever “tri-fold” foldable.

Popular tipster @Jukanlosreve in his recent post on X (formerly Twitter) revealed the details of Samsung’s foldable lineup for this year. Based on a video report from The Elec, Jukanlosreve suggested that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 might drop the built-in S Pen digitizer, which could result in a slimmer design but require an S Pen that needs charging.

While the foldable market hasn’t grown as quickly as expected, Samsung remains committed with rumours pointing to the release of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7.  Joining the lineup is the Galaxy Z Flip FE, a more affordable flip-style foldable aimed at attracting new customers to Samsung’s foldable ecosystem.

The most exciting addition is Samsung’s rumoured “tri-fold” device.

Unlike the Galaxy Z Fold series, this new foldable will feature two hinges resulting in a larger display that measures between 9.9 and 10 inches when fully opened, which makes it significantly bigger than the Galaxy Z Fold 6’s 7.6-inch screen.

Set to launch in Q3 2025 alongside the other foldables, Samsung reportedly plans to produce only 200,000 units of this innovative device suggesting it’s more of an experimental product rather than a mass-market release.

Though Samsung has been rumoured to be working on a “tri-fold” foldable for years, Huawei beat them to the market with its Mate XT last year.

In the meantime, Samsung is preparing for the launch of the Galaxy S25 this week, with reservations now open and added discounts available ahead of the event.

According to trusted WhatsApp Beta source WABetaInfo, the “Music for Status Updates” feature adds a music button to the status editor. Users can access Meta’s massive track library similar to the one used on Instagram to search for songs, trending tracks or specific artists.

You may still feel that iOS 18 is new but leaks about iOS 19 are already making headlines. This upcoming update is rumoured to bring significant design changes, starting with a redesigned Camera app that borrows heavily from visionOS, which is the operating system used for the Vision Pro headset.

Here’s what we are hearing about iOS 19.

Redesigned Camera App in iOS 19

In a recent YouTube video by Jon Prosser (Front Page Tech), a preview of the redesigned Camera app for iOS 19 was shared. According to Prosser, the new Camera app will feature a much cleaner look with a translucent background.

Key changes include:

  • Simplified Options – The app now offers just two main options: Photo and Video. Selecting either unlocks additional features.
  • Photo Features – Includes depth, spatial, pano and style.
  • Video Features – Offers slo-mo, timelapse and action modes.
  • Quick Settings on Top – Users can now easily adjust the resolution and frame rate for videos right from the top of the screen.

Prosser explained that this redesign takes cues from visionOS hinting that the new Camera app might be part of a broader UI overhaul in iOS 19. This would mark a significant departure from the familiar iOS design, which has remained largely consistent for years.

In recent updates, Apple has gradually introduced more customisation options for the iOS interface. However, a visionOS-inspired UI would be the most dramatic design change in years, giving iOS a more modern and unified appearance across devices.

While the final design of the Camera app might differ from what was shown in Prosser’s video, it offers a clear idea of what Apple could be working on.

Realme GT 7 Tipped As The Most Affordable Snapdragon 8 Elite Phone, February Launch Expected

0

Highlights

  • Realme plans to launch two smartphones in China this February.
  • These are the Realme GT 7 and the Neo 7 SE.
  • Realme GT 7 is expected to be the most affordable phone to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.
  • The Neo 7 SE with a Dimensity 8400-Max chipset also targets budget-conscious users.

Realme is gearing up for the launch of two exciting smartphones the Realme Neo 7 SE and the Realme GT 7 in China this February. According to a reliable Chinese tipster, the GT 7 is set to debut as a more affordable smartphone with powerful chipset joining the previously announced Neo 7 SE.

Here’s everything we know about the upcoming phones so far.

Realme GT 7 Featuring Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset

image
Recent Realme GT 7 leak on Weibo. (Translated Via Google Translate)

The Realme GT 7 is expected to feature the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset making it temporarily the most affordable phone powered by this processor. Currently, the OnePlus Ace 5 Pro holds this title with a starting price of 3,399 Yuan (approx $465).

If Realme aims to undercut this price, the GT 7 could become a highly competitive option in the flagship category.

The GT 7 Pro, which launched in November 2024, also features the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. However, the upcoming GT 7 (spotted as RMX5090 in TENAA certifications) will differ slightly. The GT 7 will reportedly drop the periscope telephoto camera seen on the Pro model instead opting for a redesigned dual-camera setup. This reduction in camera hardware is likely aimed at keeping costs low.

While the GT 7 Pro boasts an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor, it’s unclear if the same feature will make it to the GT 7. Instead, Realme may include an optical in-screen fingerprint sensor further helping to reduce the price.

Realme Neo 7 SE – What We Know So Far?

Realme is also introducing the Neo 7 SE, which is essentially a reworked version of the Neo 7, now powered by the Dimensity 8400-Max chipset. The original Neo 7 launched in December 2024 with a Dimensity 9300+ processor. While the Neo 7 SE will retain most of the same features, its less powerful chip will position it as a more budget-friendly option.

The Neo 7 SE is expected to dethrone the Redmi Turbo 4 as the most affordable phone with a Dimensity 8400 chip. For example, the Redmi Turbo 4 launched earlier this month starts at 1,999 Yuan (approx $275).

GT 7 and Neo 7 SE – Launch (Expected)

image
Expected launch date teased.

If the rumours hold true, Realme will announce both the GT 7 and Neo 7 SE in late February.

The GT 7 will be the highly competitive flagship offering top-tier performance at an affordable price. On the other hand, the Neo 7 SE caters to budget-conscious users looking for solid performance without breaking the bank.

FAQs

Q1. What chipset will the Realme GT 7 feature?

Answer. The Realme GT 7 is expected to feature the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, making it temporarily the most affordable phone powered by this processor.

Q2. What are the expected launch details for the Realme GT 7 and Neo 7 SE?

Answer. Realme will announce both the GT 7 and Neo 7 SE in late February. The GT 7 aims to offer top-tier performance at an affordable price, while the Neo 7 SE caters to budget-conscious users.

Q3. What is the difference between the Realme GT 7 and GT 7 Pro?

Answer. The upcoming GT 7 will differ slightly from the GT 7 Pro by dropping the periscope telephoto camera and possibly using an optical in-screen fingerprint sensor instead of the ultrasonic version, to keep costs low.

Foldable phones have often faced criticism for their bulky designs but Oppo is about to redefine expectations with the Find N5, the thinnest foldable phone yet.

New images and leaks reveal a device that is impressively slim at just 3.5–4mm when unfolded and 9mm when folded. Here’s everything we know based on recent leaks and reports.

It has previously been reported by  Pete Lau that OnePlus Open 2 based on the Oppo Find N5 will be the thinnest book-style foldable. Now new images shared on Weibo by Oppo’s Zhou Yibao gave us a glimpse of the upcoming foldable.

To give an idea of how thick the phone actually will be, images show the phone compared with different objects for perspective.

The Oppo Find N5 will set a new benchmark for foldable designs undercutting the Honor Magic V3’s 4.35mm thickness when unfolded. Zhou explained that the USB-C charging port is the current limit to how thin the device can go. Despite its slimness, the Find N5 boasts a larger battery of around 20% bigger than the Oppo Find N3 along with significant performance upgrades.

Oppo Find N5 – Design and Camera Upgrades

Recently, Tech Blogger Fixed Focus Digital leaked images live renders to showcase the Find N5’s redesigned look compared to its predecessor the Find N3.

The device retains the large round camera module but features a new sensor arrangement. The LED flash is now placed in the bottom-right corner, while a 50MP periscope telephoto lens occupies the upper right. In contrast, the Find N3’s LED flash was positioned outside the camera module.

With all the drama going on with the TikTok ban, Instagram is making significant updates to attract users. This weekend, Instagram introduced three-minute Reels and replaced the iconic square profile grid with a rectangular one.

Instagram Head Adam Mosseri announced these changes via an Instagram post and Story explaining that the grid update reflects the growing trend of vertical uploads.

“I know some of you really like your squares, and square photos are kind of the heritage of Instagram, but at this point most of what’s uploaded — both photos and videos — are vertical in their orientation, so portrait versus landscape or square, and it just is a bummer to overly crop them,” Mosseri said in his Stories.

He added, “I know it’s a change, I know it’s a bit of a pain, but I think it’s a transitional pain.” He also expressed optimism, saying, “I think that people will over the long run be excited” not to have their posts appear “aggressively cropped.”

The rectangular grid will only affect how photos and videos appear on profiles, and they’ll still expand to their original size when clicked.

Instagram has also extended the maximum length of Reels from 90 seconds to three minutes. Mosseri explained, “We’ve heard the feedback that this is just too short for those who want to share longer stories.” The change makes Reels more competitive with TikTok, which started with short videos but now allows posts up to 10 minutes long.

Additionally, a new Reels tab now lets users see videos their friends have liked or added Notes to. This update brings back memories of Instagram’s old “Following” activity feed, which was removed due to privacy concerns. Some may find this feature fun, but others could see it as invasive.

In a separate surprising announcement, Meta has introduced a new video editing platform called Edits. This comes just hours after TikTok (and by extension, CapCut) faced a US ban, though TikTok is temporarily being restored.

Adam Mosseri announced the app on Threads, describing it as a tool for “those of you who are passionate about making videos on your phone.”

He added, “There’s a lot going on right now, but no matter what happens it’s our job to provide the best possible tools for creators.”

Edits will offer the following features –

  • A dedicated inspiration tab
  • A section to track your ideas
  • A “much higher quality camera” for shooting videos
  • “All the editing tools you’d expect”
  • The ability to share drafts with friends and creators
  • Easy export to Instagram and detailed insights for Reels

Meta says Edits has already been tested with creators and is now available for pre-order on the App Store with a launch expected in February. However, the App Store lists March as the release date.

With these updates, Instagram is positioning itself as a top choice for creators especially as TikTok’s future in the US remains uncertain.

It appears Apple is aiming to enhance the user experience across all its platforms with a more consistent design for one of its most-used apps. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman in his recent Power On Newsletter, Apple’s revamped Mail app is set to arrive on Mac with the release of macOS 15.4 in April. Here’s what we know so far.

The new Mail app, which launched for iPhone in December with iOS 18.2, has yet to roll out to other platforms, but that’s about to change soon.

We’ve already had a glimpse of the updated Mail app for macOS. When Apple unveiled the new M4 Macs in October, the redesigned Mail app made a brief appearance during the event. While this wasn’t exactly a major leak—since the new design had already debuted on iPhone at WWDC—it was the first sign that the update was in the works for macOS.

In a follow-up tweet, Gurman clarified that the redesigned Mail app will also launch for iPad users around the same time.

While Gurman claims it’s currently available on iPad, that’s not the case just yet. Neither iPadOS 18.2 nor iPadOS 18.3 includes the updated app. However, it’s likely to arrive with iPadOS 18.4, expected soon.

Back in December, Apple began rolling out iOS 18.3 and macOS 15.3 betas. While macOS 15.3 brought Genmoji to Mac, the new Mail app didn’t make the cut, leaving many users wondering about its timeline.

According to Gurman, macOS 15.4 will enter beta in the coming weeks, with the final release slated for April. Highlighting this, Gurman writes, “But there’s another, more under-the-radar feature coming in April as well: The Mac will get the upgraded Mail app that uses AI to prioritise messages and sort content into different inboxes. Right now, iPad and iPhone users are able to tap into the feature — which is terrific — but Mac customers have been left behind. That changes with macOS 15.4, I’m told. For those not familiar with the feature: It sorts mail into a primary category, as well as ones for transactions, promotions, updates and all mail.”

If everything goes as expected, both Mac and iPad users will have access to the redesigned Mail app soon.
