The iPhone 17 Pro is rumoured to feature a horizontal camera layout for all three lenses.
It was first pointed out by tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS).
Fan renders shared by tipsters like DCS and Majin Bu suggest a horizontal camera bump.
A leaked iPhone 17 metal frame design aligns with the claim.
Rumours suggest Apple might replace titanium with aluminium for the iPhone 17 Pro.
Looks like we have some exciting updates about the possible camera layout design of the iPhone 17 lineup, especially the iPhone 17 Pro.
For those of you who don’t remember, there were rumours about a side-by-side camera setup to support spatial video across all three lenses before the iPhone 16 launch. As we know that didn’t happen with the iPhone 16 but now multiple leakers have recently claimed that this design change can be a part of the iPhone 17 Pro.
It was first pointed out by the popular tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS) known for accurate leaks such as the telephoto lens on the iPhone 16 Pro and its larger sensor. In a post on Weibo, DCS suggested the iPhone 17 Pro will have a horizontal camera bump for all three lenses.

DCS wrote (as translated from Chinese to English using Google Translate), “Judging from the supply chain materials, the iPhone 17 series has indeed been changed to this design. The details of the lens arrangement are unknown. The module is this kind of bar track, and many new Android devices will be changed to this design next year.”
Another popular Leaker Majin Bu on X (formerly Twitter) has also shared some fan renders that look similar to the image shared by DCS on Weibo with the above post.
Interestingly, the Majin Bu render is based on a recently leaked metal frame on Weibo and confirmed by by tipsters Jukanlosreve on X. Many online now believe this is a better representative of what the iPhone 17 Pro could actually look like.

DCS has also clarified that specific details about the arrangement of the lenses are still unknown. While horizontal camera setups aren’t entirely new with brands like Meizu experimenting with them. Some tech enthusiasts online argue that vertical alignment might make more sense for landscape photos and videos.
On the other hand, the iPhone 17 Air is rumoured to feature just a single camera maintaining a simpler design.
Another recent report suggested that Apple might replace titanium with aluminium for the iPhone 17 Pro. However, this might be a misunderstanding of terminology rather than a significant material change.

Apple is focused on being self-sufficient while reducing dependency on other companies for components. In a recent Bloomberg report, Mark Gurman revealed that the company is working on updated Apple TV and HomePod mini models to feature Apple’s new custom wireless chip. This means Apple Broadcom chips are currently used for Bluetooth and Wi-Fi with its in-house replacements. Both Apple TV and HomePad Mini are set for 2025 launch as per the latest update.
The new chip is internally called Proxima and has been in development for years. Manufactured by TSMC, it marks another step in Apple’s strategy to reduce dependence on third-party suppliers.
As per reports, the rollout will start with the updated home devices and expand to iPhones later in 2025, followed by iPads and Macs in 2026.
This chip replacement plan comes at a time when Apple is already in the middle of transitioning away from Qualcomm modems. Experts believe the two custom chips are designed to complement each other and will create a more seamless plus energy-efficient ecosystem for Apple’s products.
The Proxima chip will support Wi-Fi 6E promising faster speeds and better bandwidth. It will play a significant role in Apple’s smart home strategy in 2025, which includes an AI-powered home hub and a standalone security camera. It’s our workhorse model with low latency and enhanced performance at the cutting edge of our technology, at scale.”
Here’s a recap of the announcement.
What is Gemini 2.0?

Features and Availability
Initially, Gemini 2.0 will be accessible to select test groups and subscribers of Gemini Advanced, priced at $20 per month. Some features will also be integrated into Google’s search engine and mobile apps. A broader rollout is planned for next year to Google’s free products like Chrome, Maps and YouTube.
Gemini 2.0 aims to refine AI overviews in search results, which Google introduced earlier this year. After addressing earlier glitches such as quirky suggestions like using glue on pizza Google claims the updated version will offer more reliable and human-like reasoning, handle complex math problems and even write computer code.
These improvements will first be available to a limited audience before a wider release in 2025.
Puchai also shared details about Gemini 2.0 will also enhance “Project Astra,” which is an experimental AI agent designed for meaningful and versatile conversations.

Google further plans to expand the test group for this feature though details remain under wraps. Another project, “Project Mariner,” is a Chrome extension designed to automate online searches and process results, saving users time and effort.
Regulatory Hurdles Waiting For Google
While pushing forward with its AI advancements, Google faces a major antitrust case from the U.S. Department of Justice. Earlier this year, a federal judge declared Google’s search engine an illegal monopoly.
The Justice Department is seeking to break up Google’s empire, potentially forcing the company to spin off Chrome and other products. Google has criticised the proposal as “overly broad” and plans to fight the case in court with hearings set for next spring in Washington, D.C.
Despite these challenges, Google remains confident in its AI ambitions.
“I can’t wait to see what this next era brings,” Pichai wrote, signalling the company’s determination to forge ahead.

Vivo X200has a striking design philosophy that immediately gives premium flagship vibes when you take it out of the box.
We had the Natural Green colour unit for this review and it is a refreshingly unique colour for a smartphone. It colour tone also seems to be changing based on the kind of lighting around.
The phone is a combination of sleek, stylish and yet subtle design elements. The back of the phone has a smooth matte finish with small details such as the positioning of the flash or the Vivo branding that stand out.
The circular camera module also pops out with its metal ring and black glass finish.
Coming to build quality, the back and front are made up of glass fibre material while the middle frame is aluminium alloy. Now these may not be the strongest material out there but the phone feels robust in hand.
It seems to have a solid build that can survive wear and tear to a certain extent. X200 has also received IP68 and IP69 ratings, which means you get decent protection against water and dust.
The back of the phone is fingerprint resistant and while using we didn’t notice it catching any dust as well.
The design overall is quite similar to what we have seen in the predecessor Vivo X100 except for the finish and colour options. Vivo has decided to keep things simpler with X200 when it comes to the back panel finish. This somehow elevates the premium-ness of the phone.
Vivo X200 – Display
Vivo X200 – Display
67-inch 2800 × 1260 (FHD+) 120 Hz AMOLED Display
4500-nits local peak brightness
Schott Xensation α protection, DC-like dimming
460-PPI high pixel density, 100% DCI-P3 wide color gamut
HDR 10+ and Netflix HDR Support
Vivo X200’s display, at first glance, only adds to the overall look of the phone. However, it is not all show. Vivo has packed a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2800 × 1260 (FHD+) and a pixel density of 460 PPI. The screen is sharp, vibrant and it is just the right size.
We felt everything looked crisp on this display, from the tiniest text to the most interesting game graphics. Colours really pop on this display, but they also don’t look overly saturated.
The screen’s 120Hz refresh rate is perfect for swiping through apps and playing fast-paced games. It feels incredibly fluid and just makes everything so much more responsive.
We also watched some HDR content on Netflix or scrolling through apps like Instagram, the visuals felt lifelike and rich without making it all artificial. HDR10+ support is also there, which means you get to see all the finer details in both bright and dark scenes.
To support outdoor use, it comes with a peak brightness of 4500 nits. We had no trouble using the phone outdoors even under direct sunlight, which is great. The clarity and brightness levels are some of the best we have seen on any phone this year. As for using it at night, Vivo X200 use DC-like dimming, which seems easier on the eyes compared to standard PWM dimming,
Vivo also added Schott Xensation α protection to give a little extra peace of mind against accidental drops.
Overall, the Vivo X200’s display is vibrant, smooth and makes visuals appear sharp for everything, starting from watching movies to casual scrolling.
Vivo X200 – Hardware and Performance
Vivo X200 – Hardware and Performance
Dimensity 9400 Flagship SoC Platform
TSMC’s second-generation 3nm process technology
Eighth-generation AI processor 890
60 TOPS ultra-high computing power
After spending some time with the Vivo X200, we can definitely say that it delivers the flagship-level performance.
There are no doubts that the Dimensity 9400 chipset is a powerhouse. We tried multiple tasks on the phone and didn’t notice any lags or even slowdowns.
Whether we tried gaming, streaming videos, editing videos or just swapping through multiple apps, the phone handled everything as we would expect from a flagship device.
It’s fast and efficient. Plus, we barely noticed any heat buildup even during heavy use.
We had the 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM unit for this and multitasking on it was a breeze. At one point, we had over 10 apps open in the background alongside an online editing tool.
If you are an average user like us, the 256GB storage is more than enough. It comes with UFS technology, which ensures apps and files load almost instantly.
Gaming was fun on Vivo X200 too. We tried graphic heavy games like Genshin Impact and Call of Duty: Mobile at max settings. The phone maintained stable frame rates throughout the active sessions.
For 40 minutes of gameplay, the phone did heat up a bit but it was minimal.
We tested the phone on multiple benchmark platforms and it stood remarkably well. It scored 24,72,625 on AnTuTu v10.4.1, 2691 in single-core Geekbench and 8007 in multi-core Geekbench.
Below are some other benchmark results.
Vivo X200 – Benchmark Performance
Vivo X200 – Camera Performance
Vivo X200 – Camera Performance
We have to talk about the camera since it is one of the biggest selling points of this flagship machine.
Vivo X200 comes with a rear triple camera setup, which features 50MP Sony IMX921 (OIS) VCS, 50MP wide-angle and 50MP Sony IMX882 Telephoto (OIS) 3x Optical Zoom.
The camera module at the back panel houses the three lenses alongside the laser focus.
Compared to the predecessor Vivo X100, Vivo has replaced the 64 MP 100x Digital Zoom Telephoto lens with a 50 MP IMX882 OIS 3x optical zoom lens.
Rest, all lenses are co-engineered with Zeiss in this second-generation flagship as well.
10X Zoom
Performance-wise, the Vivo X200 camera stands out for its extraordinary image clarity and natural colour reproduction. The photos come out sharp even from a long distance thanks to the 3x Optical Zoom. The camera setup has advanced image reconstruction technology that helps bring details closer and ensures high-quality imaging from a distance.
macro background bokeh
The macro background bokeh works superbly well. It enhances the image highlighting the details and depth. You can actually capture moving subjects without disturbing them from a distance and rely on Vivo X200 to give an incredibly clear and sharp image of the object with bokeh.
We also found that the rear camera is well-equipped to handle low lighting conditions. It hardly misses giving clear and sharp images capturing even minute details from the scene in front.
The camera system on the Vivo X200 is also very versatile and provides a number of different modes to explore. To name a few modes, it has Snapshot, Portrait, Photo, Video, High Resolution, Pano, Ultra HD Document, Slo-mo, Long Exposure, Time-Lapse, Supermoon, Astro, Landscape Mode, Pro, Live Photo, Portrait Video, Night, Super Macro and ZEISS Multifocal Portrait.
Here are some camera samples exploring different modes –
Vivo X200 – Daylight Camera Sample
Vivo X200 – Night Camera Sample
Coming to video shooting capabilities, the front camera supports 4K, 1080p, 720p and 30 fps, 60 fps shoot modes. The video quality is great. The phone captures sharp and clear videos ensuring everyday detail of the scene is captured as intended. The stabilisation is also good. You can rely on this phone to shoot proper scenes while moving.
The zoom feature in video recording works extremely well as can be seen in the below videos we tried to capture moving subjects from a distance and the quality is unquestionably fine. Even at night time, the video at 1080p and 60fps was clear. There isn’t any noticeable noise or grain in the video when 10x zoomed in.

5800mAh battery (one of the largest in its segment)
90W FlashCharge
Li-ion battery with 3rd-Gen Siicon anode and semi-solid state technology
The Vivo X200 packs a massive 5800mAh capacity, which as we used the phone easily lasted through a full day of moderate to heavy use. We tried gaming, streaming and lots of multitasking and ended the day with some juice still left for the next morning.
Charging is just also impressive. When we tested the 90W FlashCharge, it got us from under 10% to about 80% in under 20-25 minutes. We felt it was perfect for those quick top-ups when in a rush.
Vivo has used third-gen silicon anode and semi-solid-state technology here. As per claim, it makes the battery more efficient and durable.
Overall, we felt Vivo X200 has the perfect battery capacity and charging specs to support the flagship performance.

The current M2 and M3 MacBook Air models have received significant upgrades.
The M4 MacBook Air is coming in 2025. (Image credit – Apple)
We usually see the tech community fixated on new tech advancements and upgrades.
However, a recent opinion piece on 9to5Mac advocates for the current MacBook Air lineup instead of waiting for the new chip we will be getting with M4 MacBook Air arriving in 2025.
The M4 chip has already debuted in devices like the latest iPad Pro, iMac and some Mac mini models. Higher-end versions of the chip power the MacBook Pro and advanced Mac mini configurations. When it comes to the 2025 MacBook Air, the M4 chip isn’t expected to bring any surprises.
According to 9to5Mac, the design likely won’t change much either. Apple is expected to stick with the sleek, lightweight look of the M2 and M3 MacBook Air. While some might hope for iMac-inspired colours, we’ll probably see the usual lineup: midnight, starlight, silver, and space grey or maybe space black, given its appearance in the M4 MacBook Pro.
Highlighting the current lineup already offers tremendous value thanks to recent upgrades, the 9to5Mac report notes, “the M2 and M3 MacBook Air models already got a significant spec bump this year that makes the current models a very good value.”
Apple made a big move by doubling the base RAM on both the M2 and M3 MacBook Air models from 8GB to 16GB without increasing the price this year.
The report adds, “Apple Intelligence is probably to thank. Even a writer who sometimes has way too many Safari tabs open can appreciate doubling the RAM in ways that may not be noticeable for a year-over-year chip increase.”
The report also reminds us that Apple has been keeping the MacBook Air lineup fresh between chip cycles. For instance, the introduction of the 15-inch MacBook Air with the M2 chip brought a new size option to the series, catering to those who want more screen real estate.
Current MacBook Air Prices
M2 MacBook Air 13″: $799 (regular $999)
M3 MacBook Air 13″: $899 (regular $1,099)
M3 MacBook Air 15″: $1,099 (regular $1,299)
So, to sum up, if you’re considering buying a MacBook Air, there’s no need to hold out for the M4 version, the current version makes a really good buy.
