OnePlus has just launched its newest compact flagship the OnePlus 13T in China. Priced from 3,399 yuan (around ₹40,000 or $470), the OnePlus 13T promises some serious performance in a compact. Here’s all you need to know about the device.

OnePlus 13T – Key Feature

The OnePlus 13T features a 6.32-inch FHD+ LTPO AMOLED display with a resolution of 2640×1216, 120Hz refresh rate, and brightness up to 2400 nits. It supports Bright Eye Protection 2.0 and boasts ultra-slim bezels. Despite its power, it weighs just 185g with a balanced 50:50 weight distribution.

The phone has a flat metal frame and a redesigned rear with a “metal cube” camera housing. Instead of the usual alert slider, there’s now a customisable shortcut key that adds extra flexibility.

Under the hood, it runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip and scored over 3 million on AnTuTu, a first for a compact phone. It ships with ColorOS 15 (based on Android 15) and features a dual-engine system, AI flash memory, and promises five years of updates.

Powering the device is a 6,260mAh battery, the largest ever in a compact phone, along with 80W fast charging. To keep things cool during heavy gaming (like running Ni Shui Han at 1.5K/120fps), it uses the Glacier Cooling System with a 4400mm² vapor chamber and 37,000mm² total heat dissipation.

Camera specs include a 50MP Sony LYT700 main sensor, a 50MP 2x telephoto with 4x lossless zoom, and a 32MP front camera. The setup is powered by flagship AI imaging features and a special shadowless capture mode. However, it doesn’t include an ultrawide lens.

Connectivity is solid with a G1 Wi-Fi chip, 360° antenna system, and up to 50% stronger signal performance.

iPhone 17 Air’s Ultra-Thin Is Surprisingly Thin, What Does It Mean for Apple’s Next iPhone Lineup?

0

Highlights

  • The iPhone 17 Air is so slim that it almost blends in with the side buttons, making it the thinnest iPhone ever.
  • Its lightweight build could change how people perceive smartphone design.
  • Early hands-on impressions suggest its futuristic feel may tempt buyers away from the Pro models, potentially affecting Apple’s high-end revenue strategy.

We’ve been hearing rumours for a while now about Apple’s plan to replace the Plus model with a new ultra-thin version called the iPhone 17 Air. But now, we’re finally getting a clearer look at just how slim it really is and it’s turning heads.

We recently reported on the new hands-on video by Lewis (Lew) George Hilsenteger from Unbox Therapy showing off dummy models of the entire iPhone 17 lineup, including the 17 Air. And even Lew, who’s been following the leaks closely, was surprised when he held the dummy iPhone 17 Air model in hands. “That feels futuristic,” is what Lew said the moment he picked up the iPhone 17 Air dummy. And it’s easy to see why.

iPhone 17 Series – New Dummy Unit Image

image

image

image

Caption – iPhone 17 Series dummy unit images from the slides. (Image credit – Sonny Dickson on X)

Tipster Sonny Dickson has previously shared dummy unit pictures showing the back of the phone. But now Dickson has shared photos showing all four models including iPhone 17, 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max and 17 Air from the side angle. The images show the striking difference in the thickness of the models and iPhone 17 Air definitely stands out.

While the standard models all look normally thin, the iPhone 17 Air is so slim, it’s barely thicker than the side buttons. That’s not an exaggeration. From the side, it almost blends in with the volume and sleep/wake buttons. Posting the images, Dickson wrote, “Take a look at the sides of the iPhone 17 dummy — the Air model is unbelievably thin.”

This extreme thinness likely means it’ll be super lightweight, too. But there’s a trade-off since the camera bar on the back runs across the full width, which might make it feel a bit top-heavy.

image

Caption – Screengrab from Unbox Therapy’s recent video. (Image credit – Unbox Therapy)

Lew in their hands-on video said Apple might actually be in trouble, but in a good way. It is because as he puts it, “anyone who holds an iPhone 17 Air won’t want to buy any other model.”

That’s a big deal, especially since the Air is not expected to be the most expensive iPhone. The Pro and Pro Max models will likely cost more, and if people start choosing the Air instead, Apple could lose out on some of that high-end revenue.

But this might be a risk worth taking.

image

Caption – A look at iPhone models from the recent past. (Image credit – 9to5Mac)

iPhone designs haven’t changed much in years. From the iPhone 14 to the 16, it’s been hard to tell them apart at a glance. The last major shift was the iPhone X in 2017.

The iPhone 17 Air won’t be quite as radical, but it’s still a big leap compared to what we’ve seen lately. And that could be exactly what Apple needs, something exciting, new and buzzworthy to get people talking again.

If the 17 Air helps spark a wave of fresh interest, it might even set the stage for future products like the iPhone Fold expected next year.

FAQs

Q1. How thin is the iPhone 17 Air compared to other iPhones?

Answer. The iPhone 17 Air is so slim that it almost blends with the side buttons, making it the thinnest iPhone ever.

Q2. What impact could the iPhone 17 Air have on Apple’s sales strategy?

Answer. Its futuristic feel could lead customers to prefer it over the Pro models, potentially affecting Apple’s high-end revenue.

Q3. How does the iPhone 17 Air design compare to previous iPhones?

Answer. While iPhones have looked similar for years, the 17 Air’s ultra-thin build is a big shift, possibly setting the stage for future innovations like the iPhone Fold.

Teardown of vivo X200 Ultra Reveals Internal Design and Engineering

0

Highlights

  • Vivo X200 Ultra teardown highlights three large sensors – a 50MP main, 50MP ultra-wide, and 200MP periscope telephoto camera.
  • It shows how the X200 Ultra maintains a relatively slim design, causing the camera bump to protrude significantly.
  • The phone features a single-cell battery with 90W fast charging support.

image

It has just been a few days since the launch of the Vivo X200 Ultra and the high-end flagship has already been torn down in a detailed video on YouTube. The video, which includes auto-translated Chinese captions, takes viewers inside the phone to showcase its impressive internal design, especially the huge camera sensors that sit behind its prominent camera bump.

The phone is currently exclusive to China, so the rest of the world can only admire it from afar as of now.

Vivo X200 Ultra – Teardown Video

The X200 Ultra has been promoted as a photography powerhouse and this teardown makes it clear why. The focus is on its chunky camera island, home to three large sensors that take up a lot of internal space. Despite these massive cameras, Vivo kept the phone’s body relatively slim, which causes the camera bump to stick out quite a bit.

According to the video’s presenter, this bump actually makes the phone easier to hold, acting like a natural grip for your index finger, but you’d have to try it yourself to see if that’s really true.

image

image

Caption – Vivo X200 Ultra teardown. (Image credit – WekiHome on X)

Inside, the phone features what looks like a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide, and a 200MP periscope telephoto camera, all working together with Vivo’s VS1 and V3+ chips for advanced image processing.

The video also shows that the phone uses a single-cell battery, and it supports 90W fast charging. While that’s plenty fast, it’s still a bit behind rivals like the Oppo Find X8 Ultra and OnePlus 13, which both offer 100W charging.

Since the X200 Ultra is only available in China right now, this teardown gives international fans a taste of what they’re missing. Whether you love or hate that bold camera bump, there’s no denying that Vivo is pushing boundaries with this device.

If you’re curious, you can check out the full teardown from YouTube video below –

FAQs

Q1. What are the main camera specifications of the Vivo X200 Ultra?

Answer. The phone features a 50MP main sensor, 50MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 200MP periscope telephoto camera, supported by Vivo’s VS1 and V3+ chips for advanced image processing.

Q2. Why does the Vivo X200 Ultra have a large camera bump?

Answer. The teardown reveals that the phone houses three large camera sensors, taking up significant internal space. The camera bump protrudes due to the slim body design, but the video suggests it could serve as a natural grip for holding the phone.

Q3. How does the Vivo X200 Ultra’s battery and charging compare to rivals?

Answer. It has a single-cell battery with 90W fast charging, slightly slower than competitors like the Oppo Find X8 Ultra and OnePlus 13, which offer 100W charging.

WhatsApp has just launched a new privacy feature called “Advanced Chat Privacy” to give users even more control over their private conversations whether in one-on-one chats or group chats. This feature was already spotted in Beta version by trusted WABetaInfo earlier this month.

The company explained the new feature in a blog post titled “Introducing Advanced Chat Privacy: Enhanced Protection for Your Most Sensitive Conversations.” It says that while end-to-end encryption still forms the core of WhatsApp’s privacy promise, making sure only the sender and receiver can see or hear messages and calls. The company is continuing to build on that foundation.

They’ve already introduced features like disappearing messages and chat lock, and now, this new setting takes things “one step further.”

What WhatsApp’s Advanced Chat Privacy Does?

This new feature is designed to keep sensitive chats even more secure. Once turned on, it will:

  • Block chat exports, so your conversations can’t be saved or shared outside WhatsApp
  • Stop automatic media downloads from those chats
  • Prevent your messages from being used in AI features

According to WhatsApp, this helps give everyone in the chat more peace of mind, knowing their conversations are staying private and on the app.

Why This New Feature Matters?

WhatsApp pointed out that group chats are often made up of people who might not know each other very well, especially in support groups or community organising. This feature is especially helpful in those kinds of situations.

As the company put it in a blog post, “We think this feature is best used when talking with groups where you may not know everyone closely but are nevertheless sensitive in nature, like talking about health challenges in a support group or organising your community about something important to you.”

When Will You Get It?

The new “Advanced Chat Privacy” feature is now rolling out to all users on the latest version of the WhatsApp app. Users can simply turn on the setting by tapping the name of your chat and selecting Advanced Chat Privacy.

FAQs

Q1. What is WhatsApp’s Advanced Chat Privacy feature?

Answer. It’s a new privacy setting that enhances security in private and group chats, offering additional protections beyond WhatsApp’s existing encryption.

Q2. What protections does Advanced Chat Privacy offer?

Answer. It blocks chat exports, prevents automatic media downloads from those chats, and stops messages from being used in AI features.

Q3. How can users enable Advanced Chat Privacy?

Answer. Users can turn it on by tapping the chat name and selecting Advanced Chat Privacy in the latest version of the WhatsApp app.

iPhone 17 Lineup Leaks – New Dummy Models In Two Colours Show Design Details

0

Highlights

  • Apple leaker Sonny Dickson shared photos of iPhone 17 dummy models in black and white, showing all four variants.
  • The dummy models confirm that the standard iPhone 17 will retain the iPhone 16’s design.
  • The iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Air will introduce new looks.

All four models of the upcoming iPhone 17 Series are expected to be officially announced in September. While there have been plenty of leaks revealing key specs, we have also had images of dummy model circulating online for months now. Recently, a hands-on video on YouTube showed all models with special focus on how the iPhone 17 Air is going to be the slimmest of them all, just 5.65mm thin. Now, another leak shows the dummy models.

image

Well-known Apple leaker Sonny Dickson on X (formerly Twitter) has just posted new photos on social media showing off the entire iPhone 17 lineup. The images include all four models including iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max in both black and white.

These dummy units give us one of the clearest looks yet at how the full iPhone 17 lineup will appear side by side. They look pretty accurate, especially when it comes to the camera setup.

Earlier leaks about the iPhone 17 Pro claimed it would have an all-black camera bar, no matter the phone’s colour. But that turned out to be incorrect. These new dummy models show that the camera bar colour will actually match the phone itself.

There’s also confirmation that the standard iPhone 17 won’t be getting a design refresh, it looks just like the iPhone 16. On the other hand, the iPhone 17 Pro will have a new design, and so will the iPhone 17 Air, which is taking the place of last year’s iPhone 16 Plus.

Meanwhile, 9to5Mac’s recent report noted how one of the rumoured design elements is missing from the latest leaked images. The earlier rumours mentioned the iPhone 17 Pro would have a unibody design with aluminium wrapping from the sides to the back and a glass section for wireless charging.
