Vivo devices from the upcoming Vivo X300 series have reportedly secured radio certification in China, hinting at a September launch. While the exact model name isn’t mentioned in the report, the report identified two models, i.e. V2502A and V2509A. Separately, the model V2509A has surfaced in Geekbench’s database, revealing details about its chipset, RAM, and operating system. Here’s everything we know about that.

Vivo X300 Series Models On Geekbench Listing

According to the Geekbench screenshots getting circulated online, the Vivo model number V2509A is powered by the upcoming Dimensity 9500 processor. The CPU configuration features one ultra-core clocked at 4.21GHz (Travis), three cores at 3.50GHz (Alto), and four cores at 2.7GHz (Gelas). For graphics, it houses the Mali-G1-Ultra MC12 GPU.

It’s still unclear whether this model is the standard Vivo X300 or the X300 Pro.

The listing also confirms that the Vivo X300 series device will come with 16GB of RAM and run Android 16. In Geekbench tests, it scored 2,352 points in the single-core and 7,129 points in the multi-core benchmarks.

These scores are lower than expected for the Dimensity 9500, likely due to early testing. The final retail version is expected to deliver higher performance.

MediaTek is anticipated to officially announce the Dimensity 9500 on September 22 in China.

Speculation suggests that both the Vivo X300 and X300 Pro powered by this new chipset could launch before the month ends. In addition to the V2502A, the V2502DA variant has also received radio certification. Both are essentially the same device, with the V2502DA supporting the Beidou satellite short messaging service.

With Google’s Pixel 10 launch just days away, leaks have already revealed nearly every detail of the upcoming Google lineup. Now, images of the official first-party cases for the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL have surfaced online.

Shared by Dutch publication Nieuwemobiel, the leaked images confirm the support for the “Pixelsnap” magnetic accessory system among other things. Here’s everything we know based on the recent leak.

Pixel 10 Series – Official Cases’ Images Leaked

Nieuwemobiel shared images showing the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro XL cases in several colours. The Pixel 10 and Pro are pictured in Indigo, Obsidian, Limoncello, and Frost, while the Pro XL appears in Moonstone, Jade, and Porcelain. As with last year’s Pixel 9 lineup, the standard Pixel 10 and the smaller Pixel 10 Pro are likely to share the same case design.

At first glance, the cases look similar to previous generations, but a key new detail stands out. Inside the cases, a circular magnet ring is clearly visible beneath the soft fabric lining, a design commonly used in magnetic cases from Apple and other brands.

Although there’s no official confirmation in the case images alone, earlier reports have already indicated that Google’s cases will include magnets.

In recent years, many Android manufacturers have relied on cases to add “MagSafe”-style magnetic compatibility. Google initially skipped the idea with its own cases, leaving third-party “Made for Google” partners to embrace it for the Pixel 9 series. This time, however, leaks suggest that the Pixel 10 models will feature magnets built directly into the phone’s chassis with matching magnets in the official cases to enhance connectivity.

In fact, other leaks strongly point to the Pixel 10 series including the standard, Pro, and Pro XL shipping with built-in magnets to support Qi2 wireless charging. The case magnets simply extend that functionality, ensuring a stronger connection for compatible accessories.

The Pixel 10 family along with the Pixel 10 Pro Fold will officially debut on August 20 during Google’s “Made by Google” event. The showcase is also expected to feature the Pixel Buds 2a and the Pixel Watch 4.

FAQs

Q1. What is the new “Pixelsnap” feature in the Pixel 10 cases?

Answer. “Pixelsnap” refers to Google’s magnetic accessory system supported by the Pixel 10 series. The official cases include a built-in magnet ring to enhance connectivity with compatible accessories, similar to Apple’s MagSafe design.

Q2. Which colours will the official Pixel 10 cases be available in?

Answer. The Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro cases will come in Indigo, Obsidian, Limoncello, and Frost. The Pixel 10 Pro XL will be available in Moonstone, Jade, and Porcelain.

Q3. Will the Pixel 10 phones support Qi2 wireless charging?

Answer. Yes, leaks suggest that all Pixel 10 models, including the standard, Pro, and Pro XL, will feature built-in magnets to support Qi2 wireless charging, with the case magnets enhancing accessory compatibility.

Apple Working on ‘Tabletop Robot’ Companion for 2027, Alongside Smart Home Hub: Report

0

Highlights

  • Apple is developing a 7-inch display on a motorised arm that tracks user movement and interacts using Siri, targeted for 2027.
  • A simpler, stationary hub is also in the works and is expected to launch a year earlier.
  • Both devices may run a new multi-user OS called Charismatic, featuring Siri with potential visual avatars like Memoji or animated icons.

Apple is reportedly planning a push into new smart home devices as part of a broader shift in its artificial intelligence strategy. A Bloomberg report by Mark Gurman claims that the company is developing multiple AI-powered products, with the most ambitious being a tabletop robotic companion.

Apple Tabletop Robot Display

This device is described as a small display, roughly seven inches across and mounted on a motorised arm. It can tilt and swivel to track the user’s movements around a room. The arm can shift the screen up to six inches from the base in any direction, making it feel more interactive and “companion-like.”

The concept is said to include a revamped version of Siri, designed to behave more like a helpful presence, remembering past conversations, offering proactive suggestions, and holding natural, back-and-forth discussions.

If development stays on track, Apple is aiming for a 2027 release.

Apple Smart Home Hub

A second product in the works is believed to be a stationary smart home hub, essentially a simplified version of the robot without moving parts. Expected to arrive sooner in 2026, this hub would handle tasks like music control, note-taking, web browsing, and video calls.

Both the hub and the robotic assistant are said to run a new multi-user operating system called Charismatic, with a version of Siri that’s intentionally more upbeat. Apple is even exploring giving Siri a face, testing visual styles ranging from an animated Finder icon to a Memoji-like avatar.

Although talk of these devices has surfaced before, internal discussions about a home hub reportedly date back to 2022. It hints at a personal robot that emerged last year. This latest leak provides the clearest look yet at Apple’s vision. Still, as with many experimental projects, the company could scale back or abandon the plans before they ever hit the market.

FAQs

Q1. What is Apple’s tabletop robot companion, and when will it launch?

Answer. Apple’s tabletop robot is a 7-inch display mounted on a motorised arm that can tilt, swivel, and track user movement. It’s designed to feel interactive and companion-like, featuring a revamped Siri capable of natural conversations and proactive suggestions. Apple is targeting a 2027 release.

Q2. What features will the Apple smart home hub include?

Answer. The smart home hub is a stationary device without moving parts, expected to launch in 2026. It will support tasks like music control, note-taking, web browsing, and video calls, and will run on Apple’s new multi-user operating system called Charismatic.

Q3. How is Siri evolving in Apple’s upcoming smart devices?

Answer. Siri will be upgraded to behave more like a helpful presence, remembering past conversations and engaging in natural, back-and-forth dialogue. Apple is also testing visual representations for Siri, including animated icons and Memoji-style avatars, to make interactions more engaging.

iPad Mini 8 Leak Points to A19 Pro Chipset and Potential OLED Display Upgrade

0

Highlights

  • iPad Mini 8 may feature the powerful A19 Pro chipset, offering enhanced GPU performance over the A17 Pro used in the current model.
  • Apple is reportedly working on an OLED version of the iPad mini, possibly launching in 2026 or later.
  • Leaked code also hints at a new budget iPad with an A18 chip, expected to arrive as early as spring 2026.
image
An accidental code release reveals some key updates on the upcoming Apple iPad Mini. (Image credit – Apple)

Details reportedly uncovered in internal Apple code reveal that Apple’s next iPad mini could see a substantial performance boost. The leak from an accidental code release hints at a major processor upgrade and possible future display enhancements, offering an early look at what may be in store for Apple’s smallest tablet. Here’s more on that.

A19 Pro Chip for Next iPad Mini

The code references an iPad mini under the codenames J510 and J511, expected to feature the A19 Pro processor. This chip, set to debut in the iPhone 17 Pro series later this year, will include more GPU cores than the standard A19. A binned A19 Pro variant with one fewer GPU core is also mentioned, which is likely headed to the iPhone 17 Air but not the iPad mini.

The current iPad mini, launched in 2024, runs on the A17 Pro from the iPhone 15 Pro. Upgrading to the A19 Pro could bring a significant boost in graphics and processing power, making the device better suited for demanding apps and upcoming iPadOS features.

Possible OLED Display in the Future

Rumours suggest Apple is developing an iPad mini with an OLED display, which could arrive in 2026 or later. It’s unclear if this transition will coincide with the A19 Pro upgrade. An OLED panel would offer higher contrast, deeper blacks, and improved energy efficiency over the current LCD.

The leaked code also points to a completely new entry-level iPad. These are reportedly codenamed J581 and J582, which could ship with the A18 chip as soon as next spring. Apple is basically expanding the tablet lineup to cover both budget-friendly and high-performance options.

FAQs

Q1. What processor will the next iPad mini feature?

Answer. The next iPad mini is expected to be powered by the A19 Pro chipset, which offers more GPU cores and improved performance compared to the A17 Pro used in the current model.

Q2. Is Apple planning to switch to OLED displays for the iPad mini?

Answer. Yes, Apple is reportedly developing an iPad mini with an OLED display, potentially launching in 2026 or later. OLED would provide better contrast, deeper blacks, and improved energy efficiency over the current LCD.

Q3. Are there any other new iPads mentioned in the leak?

Answer. The leak also references a new entry-level iPad, codenamed J581 and J582, which may feature the A18 chip and could be released as early as spring 2026.

Big Camera Specs Leap

image
Recent post by Weibo tipser Digital Chat Station. (Translated via Google Translate)

According to the famous Weibo leaker, both the Xiaomi 16 and 16 Pro will mark one of the largest generational jumps in Xiaomi’s camera hardware to date. The company is reportedly ditching the 32 MP f/2.0 front-facing camera it has used since the Xiaomi 13 series. In its place will be a new 50 MP sensor offering a wider field of view, autofocus, and continued support for 4K/60 FPS video recording.

Digital Chat Station also revealed that the Xiaomi 16 Pro is said to feature an ultra-high dynamic range 1/1.3-inch primary sensor on the rear. While the standard Xiaomi 16 may also get a 1/1.3-inch primary sensor, it will lack ultra-high dynamic range capabilities.

Both models are expected to include a ToF sensor and improved Leica imaging algorithms. As earlier reports indicated, only the Pro variant will feature a periscope telephoto camera.

Interestingly, Xiaomi’s first “Pro Max” model is also rumoured to launch alongside successors to the Xiaomi 15 Pro and the smaller Xiaomi 15. We will have to wait until the final week of September 2025 to know more about that model.

Meanwhile, earlier leaks have suggested the Xiaomi 16 could come with a 7,000 mAh battery, a 6.3-inch flat OLED display, and a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 50 MP ultrawide lens and a 50 MP telephoto lens, possibly of the periscope variety.

FAQs

Q1. What are the major camera upgrades in the Xiaomi 16 and 16 Pro?

Answer. Both models will feature a new 50MP front-facing camera with autofocus, a wider field of view, and support for 4K/60FPS video, replacing the older 32MP sensor used since the Xiaomi 13 series.

Q2. How does the Xiaomi 16 Pro differ from the standard Xiaomi 16 in terms of camera hardware?

Answer. The Xiaomi 16 Pro is expected to include a 1/1.3-inch ultra-high dynamic range primary sensor, a periscope telephoto lens, and enhanced Leica imaging algorithms. The standard Xiaomi 16 may also have a 1/1.3-inch sensor but without ultra-high dynamic range.

Q3. When is the Xiaomi 16 Series expected to launch, and what other models might debut?

Answer. The Xiaomi 16 Series is rumoured to launch in the final week of September 2025, possibly alongside the first-ever Xiaomi 16 Pro Max and successors to the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro.

Tech leaker Majin Bu @MajinBuOfficial shared a new video on X (formerly Twitter), showcasing the iPhone 17 Air dummy in Sky Blue from multiple angles. The finish is a light shade that can look almost white under certain lighting, yet reveals a clear blue tone in brighter conditions.

YouTube’s New AI System Will Start Estimating User Age

Highlights

  • YouTube is deploying an AI system in the US to estimate if users are under 18.
  • The system will detect user age based on watch history, search behaviour and account age, regardless of the birthdate entered.
  • If flagged as a minor, users get default protections like non-personalised ads, bedtime reminders, privacy alerts and restricted video recommendations.

YouTube is introducing its AI-based age estimation system across the US. First revealed last month, the tool uses artificial intelligence to predict if a user might be under 18, factoring in things like YouTube watch history, search patterns, and how long the account has existed. The system applies to every YouTube account, no matter what birthdate was entered at sign-up.

If the AI determines you’re likely a minor, you’ll see an alert letting you know. You can dispute the result by confirming your age with a government ID, a selfie, or even a credit card.

For accounts tagged as teen users, YouTube will automatically switch on safety-focused settings. These include the following –

  • Showing only ads that aren’t personalised
  • Enabling “take a break” prompts and bedtime reminders by default
  • Displaying privacy warnings before posting comments or uploading videos
  • Limiting recommendations for videos that could be harmful if watched repeatedly

The platform’s long-standing rule remains in place, which states that you must be at least 18 to watch videos marked as age-restricted.

Why YouTube’s Age Detection Facing Backlash?

While the aim is to protect younger viewers, critics say the AI could mislabel adults based on a handful of viewing habits.

“I let my cousins’ kids watch some of their shows when I’m babysitting them, and I don’t care to give my ID to YouTube, especially since I have had a Google account for like 20 odd years now,” one Reddit user complained.

Others worry about the privacy risks of uploading official IDs.

“With this rise of AI and increased demand for users’ personal information, I truly believe that the internet will be so fundamentally different in 5 years that parts of it will simply become broken,” another user wrote.

YouTube says ID verification is optional. Those who skip it will still be able to use the site, but with teen protections in place. Teen accounts can view most of YouTube’s content, except for age-restricted videos containing heavy violence or nudity.

YouTube also insists that a single type of content isn’t enough to flag someone as underage.

“Pokémon, Minecraft, Anime, and Roblox are for everyone! We understand that users on YouTube have a variety of interests. Our age estimation model does not look at one form of content in isolation to determine if an account is under the age of 18. The model assesses many different signals to reach this determination, including but not limited to YouTube activity and longevity across a user’s account. It is not focused on any specific genre or type of video,” the company explained.

FAQs

Q1.  What is YouTube’s new AI age estimation system and how does it work?

Answer. YouTube’s AI system predicts if a user is under 18 by analysing watch history, search patterns, and account age. It applies to all accounts, regardless of the birthdate entered.

Q2. What happens if YouTube’s AI flags my account as underage?

Answer. If flagged as a minor, you’ll receive an alert and can verify your age using a government ID, selfie, or credit card. Otherwise, teen safety settings will be applied automatically.

Q3. What safety features are enabled for accounts identified as teen users?

Answer. Teen accounts will see non-personalised ads, bedtime and break reminders, privacy warnings before posting, and limited recommendations for potentially harmful content.
