Early benchmark results suggest the Xring 01 chip features a 10-core CPU (2 x 3.9GHz + 4 x 3.4GHz + 2 x 1.89GHz + 2 x 1.8GHz) and an Immortalis-G925 GPU. It scores 3,119 in single-core and 9,673 in multi-core tests on Geekbench, putting it in the same league as the Dimensity 9400 and Snapdragon 8 Elite.

Xiaomi’s Ambition in Chips

While there’s a lot to look forward to, the spotlight will be on the Xring 01 chip and the Xiaomi 15S Pro. Xiaomi says the Xring 01 is a big step in its return to the mobile chip market, designed especially for high-end smartphones.

The chip is part of a 10-year strategy backed by a massive 50 billion Yuan (about $6.9 billion) investment. So far, Xiaomi has already poured in over 13.5 billion Yuan (roughly $1.9 billion) as of April 2025 into chip R&D. This shows how serious the company is about becoming a key player in the semiconductor space.

Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra

Also launching is the Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra, a 14-inch premium tablet aimed at professionals. It will feature a 3.2K resolution LTPO display, support for advanced multi-window functions and up to 120W wired charging. The tablet could be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset.

Xiaomi YU7 SUV

Another big reveal will be the Xiaomi YU7, the company’s first electric SUV. It’s expected to feature a distinctive Saturn-ring style tail-light and measure 4999mm x 1996mm x 1600mm. The YU7 will offer dual-motor options and a peak output of up to 390 horsepower, promising high-speed performance.

Xbox is rolling out some new ways for users to customise their console’s home screen. As per the recent report, two of the new features are already being tested by Alpha and Alpha Skip-Ahead Xbox Insiders starting this week.

According to Team Xbox, these updates are based directly on user feedback. Eden Marie, principal software engineering lead of Xbox Experiences, wrote on Xbox’s blog, “We’ve heard from many of you that Home should feel more like your space. Whether it’s surfacing your favourite games, hiding what you don’t use, or simply making Home feel less crowded, this update is a direct response to that feedback.”

Xbox Home Screen New Features

Hide System Apps

First, some Xbox Insiders will now be able to hide system apps from the home screen like Netflix, Microsoft Edge and others. This helps reduce clutter and makes your dashboard more focused on games and entertainment you actually use.

Xbox website explains, “Want a cleaner view focused on your games and entertainment? You can now hide system apps from the recently played games and apps list on Home, reducing clutter and keeping your Home focused on what matters most to you.”

Pin Favourites to Home

Second, you’ll be able to pin up to three favourite games or apps to the home screen. These pinned items will stick near the top of the recently played list, even as you open other apps, so your go-to games are always easy to find.

“You can now pin up to three of your recently played games or apps directly to the recently played games and apps list. These pins will stay near the front of the list as you launch other things, giving you quick access to your go-to titles,” the company website adds.

Reduce Tile Count (Coming Soon!)

The third feature is coming soon and provides the option to reduce the number of visible tiles in the recently played games and apps list. This will let you show off more of your background and give your dashboard a cleaner, simpler look.

Xbox says, “Prefer a more minimal look? This setting allows you to reduce the number of visible tiles in the recently played games and apps list, helping you streamline your Home and surface only the essentials. We’re still refining this setting, and it will be coming soon.”

Xbox Home Screen New Features – Rollout Timeline

There’s no confirmed date for when these features will be available to all Xbox users, but it’s expected they’ll roll out gradually through all levels of Xbox Insiders over the next few weeks.

FAQs

Q1. Can I hide system apps from my Xbox home screen?

Answer. Yes! Xbox Insiders can now hide system apps like Netflix and Microsoft Edge from the recently played list, helping reduce clutter and keeping the home screen focused on games and entertainment.

Q2. How many games or apps can I pin to my Xbox home screen?

Answer. New features coming to Xbox that will allow you to pin up to three favourite games or apps to the home screen. These pinned items will stay near the top of the recently played list, making your go-to titles easy to access.

Q3. When will the ‘Reduce Tile Count’ feature be available on Xbox?

Answer. Xbox has stated that this feature is still being refined and will be coming soon. It will allow users to reduce the number of visible tiles in the recently played list for a cleaner, more minimal look.

iPhone 17 Air Leak Reveals Super Light Build, But Battery May Disappoint

0

Highlights

  • New leak confirms the iPhone 17 Air will be just 5.5mm thick and weigh around 145 grams.
  • It also reveals that the phone might get only 2800mAh battery with only 60–70% of users expected to get a full day’s use.
  • Apple may use a high-density battery and iOS 19’s AI-based optimisation to increase battery capacity by 15–20%.

We already have a fair idea of what Apple is planning with its upcoming iPhone 17 Air model. But since it is Apple we are talking about, it is not surprising that every day some new detail comes into light. A new leak has now revealed more details about Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 Air and it’s a bit of a mixed bag.

The info comes from leaker yeux1122 via a post on Naver, who cites a “mass production confirmed sample” from the supply chain.

Caption – Previously leaked iPhone 17 Air dummy device. (Image credit – Apple Track on YouTube)

According to the post, the iPhone 17 Air will be just 5.5mm thick, a spec that lines up with earlier reports from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. On top of that, the new leak reveals the phone will weigh around 145 grams. That makes it as light as the iPhone SE 2 (148g) or iPhone 13 mini (141g) but stretched out over a much larger 6.6-inch display. So you’re getting the feel of a mini iPhone, but in a full-sized body. That alone could justify the “Air” branding.

While the weight is impressive, the second part of the leak doesn’t sound too pleasing.

It appears we are getting battery capacity of just 2800mAh, which might rightly be a concern. Internal testing by Apple reportedly shows that only 60–70% of users will get a full day of use, compared to the usual 80–90% on typical iPhones.

To put that into context, the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro, both released in 2020, had nearly the same battery capacity (2815mAh) and were not exactly known for long-lasting battery life either. Meanwhile, the iPhone 16 features a 3561mAh battery, and the iPhone 16 Plus has a massive 4674mAh cell. So compared to those, the iPhone 17 Air sees about a 20% drop from standard models and up to 40% less compared to a similarly sized Plus variant.

There’s a possibility Apple might include a high-density battery using the same 2800mAh cell size, which could boost the actual capacity by 15–20%. If that happens, battery life might not be as bad as it sounds.

To add on, iOS 19 is expected to bring an AI-based battery optimisation feature, which should help squeeze out more life from the smaller battery.

FAQs

Q1. How thin and light is the iPhone 17 Air?

Answer. The iPhone 17 Air will be just 5.5mm thick and weigh around 145 grams, making it one of the lightest full-sized iPhones with a 6.6-inch display.

Q2. What are the concerns about the iPhone 17 Air’s battery life?

Answer. The phone has a 2800mAh battery, and Apple’s internal testing shows that only 60–70% of users may get a full day of use, much lower than standard iPhones.

Q3. Are there any battery optimisations for the iPhone 17 Air?

Answer. Apple may use a high-density battery to boost capacity by 15–20%, and iOS 19’s AI-based battery optimisation could help improve battery life.
