Creators can now opt in to have their Instagram Reel recommended on Facebook

0

Social media platform Facebook today announced that it is testing the ability for Instagram creators to have their public Reels recommended on Facebook in India. In this test, when someone on Instagram with a public account shares their Reel, they’ll see an option to have their Reel recommended to people on Facebook. This will enable creators to expand the reach of their content to new audiences as well as for newer creators to be discovered.

“Over the past year, we have seen growing interest for fun, entertaining short videos in India with the launch of Reels on Instagram and testing short videos on Facebook. To further enhance the video experience for our users, we are now testing the ability for a limited set of Instagram creators in the country to choose to have their Reels recommended on Facebook and also launching the ability for people to create and watch Reels on Facebook,” it said in a statement.

“At the onset, we will have Reels from a diverse set of creators such as Pooja Dhingra, Ashish Chanchlani, Masterchef Pankaj Bhadouria, Awez Darbar, Bong Guy and key public figures such as Suresh Raina, Sanjeev Kapoor, Harbhajan Singh among others,” it added.

For creators to recommend a Reel from Instagram on Facebook

When a creator shares a Reel on Instagram, some will now see a prompt to also have that Reel recommended on Facebook; tap “allow” to opt-in. If the creator opts-in to the experience, their reel can be shown as recommended content to anyone on Facebook based on what may be relevant to them. Their reels will be shown with their Instagram username, not from their Facebook account if they have one.

OnePlus 9 Series all set to launch on March 23 with a charger inside the box

0

The Chinese smartphone maker, OnePlus, is all set to launch the OnePlus 9 Series on March 23, the company confirmed. The event is likely to happen at 10 AM ET. However, before the launch, the company has revealed that the upcoming OnePlus 9 Series will come with a charger inside the box.

The founder of OnePlus, Pete Lau, has revealed that the OnePlus 9 Series will come with a charger in its box via a comment on the OnePlus community forums. Last week, Pete posted a teaser hinting at the OnePlus 9 series launch and the partnership with camera giant Hasselblad. In that post, a user had commented, “New phones launch WITHOUT CHARGERS”.

To this, Pete has replied, “Don’t worry about it. We have the charger inside the box.” This info falls in line with earlier leaks and unless there’s any new tech, the devices should ship with a 65W Warp charger inside the box.

Anyway, with this, he confirms that the Chinese smartphone maker won’t join the bandwagon of companies skipping in-box chargers. The trend of not including a charger was started by Apple and now giants like Samsung, Xiaomi have started to adopt it.

Just like the Vivo, OPPO, realme, the OnePlus devices come with a trademarked “Warp charging” and they are proprietary solutions for fast charging on OnePlus smartphones. This could also be another reason for OnePlus sticking to include them on the OnePlus 9 series.

As per media reports, the launch event on March 23 will showcase four products including the OnePlus 9, OnePlus 9 Pro, OnePlus 9R, and OnePlus Watch

Out of this, the Hasselblad partnership for the “Natural Color Calibration” will help OnePlus ship the devices with a new color solution. Accordingly, the ‘Pro’ variant is expected to feature a Quad-camera setup with a custom Sony IMX789 Sensor(could be 48MP), panoramic Camera with a 140° FOV.

Apple to soon start manufacturing iPhone 12 in India: Report

0

The iPhone maker, Apple, which recently started manufacturing iPhone SE in India through its partners, has now expanded it to produce iPhone XR and iPhone 11. Now, the company is reportedly planning to start making iPhone 12 in India.

According to some media reports, in an effort to reduce its dependence on China, Apple has been expanding its production facilities across several regions and one such market in India. The report claims that Apple will soon start producing iPhone 12 in India.

As per the report, the Cupertino-based giant is planning to initially shift about 7 percent to 10 percent of the iPhone 12 production to India from China. The company is also considering moving the manufacturing of the iPhone 12 Mini to India but Apple has not yet made a final decision.

The iPhone 12 models manufactured in India will be available for purchase in the domestic market and will also be exported. With local manufacturing, the company will be able to avoid paying heft import tariffs. However, it remains to be seen if Apple decides to pass on the benefits to the customers, which it hasn’t done in the past.

But passing on the benefits to the customers could mean a bit lower starting price for the iPhone 12 in India, giving it a boost in the market. Apple has been trying to expand its footprints in India and this could be a gateway to have a significant market share.

Hyper Localisation and Hyper Personalisation will drive customer engagement in a digitally connected world: Airtel Report

0

Airtel Business, the B2B unit of Bharti Airtel, today released its first Business Insights report under the aegis of its Customer Advisory Board, which has representation from India’s top companies from across industries.

Titled Customer Engagement Redefined. Anytime. Anywhere, the report calls out the need for reimagining customer journeys in an increasingly digitally connected world with multiple personal devices and channels. This requires businesses to create omni-channel engagement platforms that can deliver highly personalised and hyper-localised, contextual experiences to customers.

The report has identified 5 Pillars for redefining Customer Engagement journeys:

Intelligent Interactions: Customers today expect a connected experience and consistent interactions across brand touch points. Therefore, automated engagements such as digital onboarding and intuitive customer satisfaction surveys, contextual chat-bot based conversations, that operate with one view of the customer are becoming increasingly important.

Hyper Personalisation: With the emergence of big data, it has become easier to create hyper personalised customer experience. Businesses can identify exact needs of customers with the help behavioral data and interpret individual characteristics with the help of emerging technologies. This has resulted in a paradigm shift from a product-centric marketing to a more personalized customer-focused marketing.

Connected Across Channels:  Seamless connectivity for customers can be achieved through omnichannel engagement that leverages a multi-channel sales approach to provide customers with an integrated shopping experience. The customer could be shopping online from a mobile app, a web storefront, or even offline in a brick-and-mortar store and yet the experience must be consistent. This means ensuring customers receive the same engagement experience and message across all channels and touchpoints.

Customer’s Choice of Time: Reaching customers at the most appropriate time is challenging, especially for companies dealing with various customer segments across different geographical locations. Knowing when customers are ready and willing to pay attention increases the chance of captivating them, guiding them through the customer journey and motivating them to choose the brand when the right moment arrives.

Robust and Secure Connectivity: Businesses can enhance their customer experience and differentiate themselves from their competitors by incorporating “Digital Trust” into their customer engagement model and platform. They can do so by Reliability and availability of digital services, data transparency and digital security, Privacy and Security safeguards.

Ajay Chitkara, Director and CEO, Airtel Business said, “Today, customers are looking for online-first and omni-channel experiences. This requires brands to accelerate their digital transformation journeys and reimagine customer engagement. We are delighted to share deep insights in this area from some of India’s best minds who are now part of our Customer Advisory Board. At Airtel, we are already leveraging these insights to build solutions like Airtel IQ – a cloud communications platform that enables brands to deepen engagement with customers through timely and secure communication.”
