Nubia Red Magic 7 Gaming phone launch date revealed: Details inside

The Nubia Red Magic 7, which has been rumoured for a while, will be launched on February 17. According to reports, Nubia may unveil the Red Magic 7 and Red Magic 7 Pro models under its Red Magic 7 banner.

This information comes from Nubia, which announced a February 17 announcement on the Chinese social media platform Weibo. Aspects of the phones’ design and some specifications were also revealed in the post. It’s also been found on a number of certification websites. The smartphone’s specifications were also recently surfaced online via a TENAA listing.

According to a post on Weibo, the Nubia Red Magic 7 series gaming smartphones will be unveiled on February 17 at 3 p.m. CST (1:30 p.m. IST). Other than that, there is no information on the images shared on the Chinese microblogging website.

The Nubia Red Magic 7 smartphone’s alleged TENAA listing suggests that it will be offered in Black, Blue, Green, and Red colour options.

?Under the hood, the Nubia Red Magic 7 may pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, which could be paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of onboard storage. The TENAA listing suggests that the Nubia Red Magic 7 gaming phone could be offered in three RAM and storage options — 8GB + 128GB, 12GB + 256GB, and 16GB + 512GB. It is expected to run on Android OS.

The Nubia Red Magic 7 phone will carry a vertically aligned rear camera module that houses three sensors along with an LED flash. It is tipped to pack a 64-megapixel primary sensor along with two unidentified sensors. As per the reports, the phone could get an 8-megapixel ultra-wide and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. For selfies, the gaming smartphone could get an 8-megapixel camera.

Nubia Red Magic 7 is claimed to pack a 2,190mAh (rated capacity) battery. As per a 3C certification listing, Nubia Red Magic 7 may support up to 165W fast charging.

Govt. issues warning for Google Chrome users

Millions of Google Chrome users in India have been cautioned about various vulnerabilities in the browser by the Indian government. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology’s Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) has issued a ‘high severity’ warning asking Google Chrome users to update to the latest browser version – Google Chrome 98 in a bid to combat cyberattacks. In its advisory, CERT-In reportedly said that people are at high risk if they are using the Google Chrome version which is older than 98.0.4758.80. It recommended users update their Chrome browser to the latest version immediately.

Motorola Edge 30 Pro teased to launch on Feb 24

According to a teaser posted on Twitter by Motorola, a new Motorola Edge-series smartphone will be released in India on February 24. The tweet does not specify which smartphone will be released in the country, but if a report from late last month is to be believed, it may be the Motorola Edge 30 Pro. The Motorola Edge 30 Pro is rumoured to be coming to India later this month. Late last month, the flagship smartphone was expected to be released in both domestic and international markets. It’s rumoured to be a rebranded version of the MotoEdge X30, which was released in China last year, but with a slightly different design. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor will most likely power the Motorola Edge 30 Pro SoC.

You are mostly into computer peripherals and gaming segments and conferencing solutions, but slow in mobile accessories, especially in the age of smartphones. Do we expect some change in your business model in times to come?

RAPOO as a brand has always delivered a stylish and innovative experience when it comes to wireless peripheral products. The brand has successfully benchmarked several products in the market which includes the 8000 Wireless Keyboard and Mouse, VH150 Gaming Headset, A100 Bluetooth Mini Speaker, etc. Some of the new launches in the pipeline also includes; the launch of M100 Series. It is a silent mouse which simultaneously connects up to 3 devices, and switches among them with easily. Since there is an increasing demand for accessories from consumers in the market, we shall add more product line in the portfolio. Overall, gaming shall be one of the strongest areas of our operation.

Which among them is a dominant vertical for you? How are your products gaining traction in the market?

Recently, RAPOO launched its own gaming vertical in the market which is gaining a lot of popularity. Products include different mouses, gaming headsets, keyboards, etc. We are extremely happy with our performance in the Indian markets. We have been consistently registering growth year on year both in terms of revenue as well as market penetration. In sync with the same, our network expansion too has contributed to the growth, building a strong channel ecosystem, the perfect blend of both the online and offline markets. Our sales objective for the next fiscal year is well aligned with the growing Indian market and we aim to replicate the growth percentage in double figures.

Online or offline – which platform yields maximum revenue for RAPOO?

We live in a digital age where we want everything at the press of a button. All our daily activities and necessities have shifted online, whether its groceries or even working out. Online shopping is no exception. Therefore, there is much more traffic and activity online as compared to actual shops. At RAPOO too, it is the online platform which yields maximum attention and revenue for the company.

The pandemic phase might have been a blessing in disguise for RAPOO from business point of view, as online education and remote working gave rise to sale of computer peripherals and gaming products in India.

Like almost all brands and sectors, RAPOO also faced multiple challenges during the COVID times. The whole world came to a halt. But we never lost hope and motivation. During that time, the government also came out with various policies and solutions. But we made sure to constantly cater to our customers’ needs and make our bond as strong as ever. With the emerging trend and the whole world shifting online gradually during the pandemic, we explored opportunities into new product line-up like Webcams, where the market remains untapped. There is a parallel grey market in India thriving on the counterfeit accessories and devices. How do you deal with them?

Grey markets have been a part of our economy since the beginning. Sometimes, such markets are even essential for some economies. There is nothing we can do to stop or regulate such markets, but what we can do is to focus on our products and work day and night in improving the brand.

What are your outreach and investment plans for India?

Our plans for India are to reach out to every customer, regardless of region and age by giving direct access to resolve their service issues. We also intend to invest in product categories for video conferencing and teaching solutions to make communication easier.

While it’s a great new trend, we at RAPOO do not have any plans to leverage this trend in the near future.
