Xiaomi 16 Series to Redefine Product Positioning

Lu Weibing confirmed that Xiaomi’s next-generation digital series will see a complete overhaul in both definition and positioning. Industry watchers believe he was directly referencing the Xiaomi 16 lineup, set to debut in September.

Reports also indicate that these devices will be the first to run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset, delivering a significant performance leap.

A major addition to the lineup could be a smaller flagship under the Pro category. Unlike earlier years, the Pro series is tipped to include a compact 6.3-inch variant alongside the standard 6.8-inch model. While leaks are calling it the Xiaomi 16 Pro Mini, the final name may differ.

HyperOS 3 and Dynamic Island-Like Features

The Xiaomi 16 series is also rumoured to launch with HyperOS 3, the next version of Xiaomi’s in-house software. This may actually be the bigger headline, given the new features being tested.

One of them borrows inspiration from Apple’s Dynamic Island, but Xiaomi seems to be putting its own twist on it. Instead of leaving blank space around the punch-hole, Xiaomi is reportedly adding adaptive, pill-shaped notifications with animations, live updates, and contextual information, essentially turning wasted pixels into a functional, stylish feature.

Faster Rollout for HyperOS 3

Interestingly, Xiaomi is planning a faster-than-usual global release for HyperOS 3. The domestic launch is scheduled for September, followed by a rollout in India, Europe, and Southeast Asia as early as October or November 2025.

This speed is unusual for Xiaomi, which typically staggers updates over several months. The accelerated timeline is believed to be linked to the early arrival of Android 16, which allowed Xiaomi to fast-track HyperOS development. For international users, this means much shorter waiting times.

The Standard Xiaomi 16 Model – What to Expect?

When it comes to hardware, the base Xiaomi 16 will largely stick to the design language of the Xiaomi 15, but with significant internal upgrades. Based on leaks, here’s what’s expected –

A massive 6800mAh battery, far larger than most flagships in its class

Four Models in the Xiaomi 16 Lineup

The series is expected to launch with four models, which will include the Xiaomi 16, Xiaomi 16 Pro, Xiaomi 16 Pro Mini, and later the Xiaomi 16 Ultra. The addition of the Pro Mini is likely the key shift Lu Weibing hinted at.

As for the Ultra, it is expected to debut next year in China.

According to a recent report, Apple Watch sales in the first half of 2025 were about 10% higher than expected. The DigiTimes Asia report further reveals key details on what Apple is planning for its 2026 Apple Watch lineup. And it appears the Cupertino giant could bring some of the most notable upgrades in years. Here’s everything we know based on the recent report.

Apple Watch 2025 Performs Better Than Expected

According to the report, sales are on track for a strong third-quarter peak season, following a challenging but ultimately successful few months.

Report reads, “Despite challenges from tariffs and macroeconomic factors dampening consumer electronics demand, the supply chain confirms that Apple’s early procurement in the first half of 2025 is outperforming initial forecasts by approximately 10%.”

The Apple Watch Series 11 lineup, which will include the Apple Watch Ultra 3, is rumoured to introduce blood pressure detection alongside the Apple Intelligence-powered features announced at WWDC25 for watchOS 26.

However, the report clarifies that non-invasive blood glucose monitoring remains out of reach due to “medical regulations, technological development, and patent disputes.” In its early version, the blood pressure tool will reportedly focus on tracking trends and providing abnormality alerts much like how Apple’s recent additions such as temperature monitoring, function today.

2026 Apple Watch Lineup – What To Expect?

The same report also claims that Apple’s 2026 Apple Watch models will concentrate on three key areas, which are new sensors, a potential redesign and better efficiency. It writes, “First, the number of sensor components will double; second, there will be alterations to the exterior design; and third, power efficiency will improve significantly.”

While it doesn’t specify which sensors are coming, it notes that Apple aims to reduce reliance on algorithm-based data interpretation, which could lead to improved performance and longer battery life.

As for design, rumours suggest the high-end model may undergo a major redesign. However, the circular sensor array on the back of the Apple Watch is expected to remain unchanged, even as Apple doubles the number of sensors.

The official rollout of iOS 26 is expected soon after the upcoming iPhone lineup is unveiled later this month. One of the key new additions in the iOS 26 update is a setting called Adaptive Power, designed to use AI to extend iPhone battery life during heavy usage. Here’s everything you need to know about the new feature.

iOS 26 – Adaptive Power

Current iPhone users can conserve battery by lowering screen brightness, disabling Always-On Display, or, in critical moments, enabling Low Power Mode to reduce background activity. However, Adaptive Power takes a smarter approach.

Instead of running constantly, it activates only during power-hungry tasks such as video recording, photo editing, or gaming.

When in use, Adaptive Power makes subtle performance adjustments to stretch battery life.

Apple describes the feature as follows, “When your battery usage is higher than usual, iPhone can make small performance adjustments to extend your battery life, including slightly lowering the display brightness or allowing some activities to take a little longer. Low Power Mode may turn on at 20%.”

iPhones That Support Adaptive Power

Apple hasn’t officially tied Adaptive Power to Apple Intelligence, but user reports suggest the feature only shows up on iPhones that support Apple Intelligence. Older models do not have the setting available.
