iPhone 17e Expected Next Spring With Same Display as iPhone 16e: Report

0

Highlights

  • The iPhone 17e is reportedly set to launch in spring 2025, following the iPhone 16e’s February debut.
  • It will reuse the OLED panel from the iPhone 16e, which originally came from the iPhone 14.
  • The 17e is expected to be a modest refresh, part of Apple’s strategy to stagger launches, Pro models first followed by standard and “e” models.

A new supply-chain report says the iPhone 17e is set to launch next spring, which lines up with earlier rumours. But if you were hoping for big changes, don’t get too excited. The report also mentions that it will use the same display as the iPhone 16e. Here’s what we know.

iPhone 17e – What To Expect?

When Apple replaced the iPhone SE with the iPhone 16e, many wondered if the change in name signaled a move to yearly updates, unlike the irregular refreshes the SE received. That idea got more support when leaker Fixed Focus Digital spotted a product code that seemed to point to an iPhone 17e.

They later confirmed that the phone had entered trial production, which is a strong sign of a release in the coming year.

Now, TheElec has backed that up, reporting a spring launch window. While the iPhone 16e launched this February, a spring release could mean the 17e might arrive a little later. Spring officially starts on March 20.

The report also discloses some key details about the display. TheElec report reads, “It was learned today that Apple plans to launch the entry-level organic light-emitting diode (OLED) iPhone 17e next spring. The panel reuses OLED for iPhone 16e.”

Interestingly, that same screen was originally used on the iPhone 14, meaning Apple is likely sticking with tried-and-tested components for its budget-friendly model.

Coming back to the launch window, Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo previously predicted a first-half 2025 launch and even shared that a third-generation “e” model is expected to arrive in early 2027, alongside the standard iPhone 18.

Apple is said to be shifting to a split iPhone launch strategy, with the iPhone 18 Pro models arriving first, followed by the standard iPhone 18 and 18e six months later. This would help Apple manage production better and boost flagship sales before releasing its more affordable models.

As of now, we don’t know much else, but it seems the iPhone 17e will likely be a modest upgrade focused on keeping things simple and cost-effective.

FAQs

Q1. When is the iPhone 17e expected to launch?

Answer. Apple plans to launch the entry-level organic light-emitting diode (OLED) iPhone 17e next spring.

Q2. What display will the iPhone 17e use?

Answer. The panel reuses OLED for iPhone 16e. That same screen was originally used on the iPhone 14.

Q3. What kind of upgrade is the iPhone 17e expected to be?

Answer. It seems the iPhone 17e will likely be a modest upgrade focused on keeping things simple and cost-effective.

iPhone 17 Air Dummy Hands-On Video Shows Ultra-Thin Design, Might Get “Very Light” Blue Colour Option

0

Highlights

  • A hands-on video of a dummy unit shows the iPhone 17 Air with a sleek, ultra-thin body and a single rear camera in a full-width camera bar.
  • A leaker claims the main colour will be a “very light blue” similar to Apple’s past “barely blue” finishes.
  • Leaks suggest reduced bezels seen on the iPhone 17 Pro and Air may also appear on the base iPhone 17, hinting at a more uniform design.

We’re still a couple of months away from Apple officially unveiling the iPhone 17 lineup, but leaks and speculations are keeping us informed. After many images and dummy units look, a new hands-on video is now giving us a close look at what could be the iPhone 17 Air.

iPhone 17 Air – Hands-On Video

The dummy unit hands-on video, shared by leaker Majin Bu on X (formerly Twitter), shows off the iPhone 17 Air in a sleek black finish. Compared to the thicker and bulkier iPhone 17 Pro Max dummy he showed earlier, this new model looks much slimmer and lighter.

One of the key design features is a single rear camera housed in a full-width camera bar, giving it a distinct look from Apple’s current iPhones.

The contrast between the iPhone 17 Air and the Pro Max is stark, and the thinner design hints that Apple might be focusing more on portability and simplicity with this variant.

iPhone 17 Air – “Very Light” Blue Colour Option

Alongside the hands-on video, another leak suggests a possible new colour option for the iPhone 17 Air. Tipster Fixed focus digital on Weibo has a mixed track record when it comes to claims. But Fixed focus digital recently posted that the main colour for the device will be a “very light” blue, so light that it might look white in certain lighting.

image
Fixed focus digital’s recent post on Weibo. (Translated via Google Translate)

The leaker even describes it as similar to Apple’s previous “barely blue” finishes like the Sierra Blue from the iPhone 13 Pro or the Sky Blue from the M4 MacBook Air.

While it’s unclear why this is being called the “main” colour, it’s possible Apple will highlight it in marketing as the fresh, standout shade for this model.

In another interesting twist, leaks also hint that the reduced bezels expected on the iPhone 17 Pro and Air could also make their way to the base iPhone 17, bringing a more uniform design across the lineup.

FAQs

Q1. What design feature stands out in the iPhone 17 Air dummy unit?

Answer. One of the key design features is a single rear camera housed in a full-width camera bar, giving it a distinct look from Apple’s current iPhones.

Q2. What is the rumoured new colour option for the iPhone 17 Air?

Answer. Fixed focus digital recently posted that the main colour for the device will be a ‘very light’ blue, so light that it might look white in certain lighting.

Q3. How does the iPhone 17 Air compare to the iPhone 17 Pro Max in terms of design?

Answer. Compared to the thicker and bulkier iPhone 17 Pro Max dummy he showed earlier, this new model looks much slimmer and lighter.

WhatsApp Set to Launch Threaded Replies for Group Chats Soon

0

Highlights

  • WhatsApp is testing a new feature that lets users reply directly to specific messages in group chats.
  • First spotted in Android beta, the feature is now in testing on iOS via TestFlight, suggesting a public rollout is likely in the coming weeks.
  • Users will see a reply count on messages and can tap to view or add replies in a dedicated thread view.

WhatsApp is getting ready to roll out a much-needed threaded replies feature that should make busy group chats easier to follow. First spotted in the Android beta last March, the feature is now being tested on iOS too, hinting at a wider release in the near future. Here’s what we know so far.

WhatsApp – Threaded Replies in Group Chat

image

According to trusted WhatsApp beta source WABetaInfo, the latest WhatsApp beta on iOS via TestFlight includes early support for threaded message replies. This means you’ll soon be able to reply directly to a specific message and view all related responses in one place. It will be just like you can in apps like Slack.

WABetaInfo report explains, “By tapping on this indicator, users will be able to open a new screen that displays all replies related to the original message in an organized view. (…) Within this new screen, users will not only be able to read all the replies but also send a new reply directly, which will automatically be added to the same thread. This ensures continuity and keeps related messages neatly grouped together.”

In the current version, you’ll see a reply count indicator on the original message. While the replies don’t yet show up in a neat thread within the chat, tapping on the indicator opens a dedicated screen that displays all responses to that message.

If you’re in a group where conversations move fast, it’s often hard to keep up or jump back in without getting confused. Threaded replies could help organise the chaos as long as people actually use them.

This isn’t the only feature WhatsApp is working on to improve group chats. The app recently introduced AI-generated message summaries in the U.S., which let users quickly catch up on unread messages. A wider global rollout of this feature is expected soon.

With the feature now being tested on both Android and iOS, threaded replies look set to arrive for everyone in the coming weeks.

FAQs

Q1. What is the new threaded replies feature on WhatsApp?

Answer. Users will be able to reply directly to a specific message, and view all related responses in one place, just like you can in apps like Slack.

Q2. How will users access threaded replies in WhatsApp group chats?

Answer. By tapping on this indicator, users will be able to open a new screen that displays all replies related to the original message in an organised view.

Q3. When is the threaded replies feature expected to launch?

Answer. With the feature now being tested on both Android and iOS, threaded replies look set to arrive for everyone in the coming weeks.

Leak Reveals Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7, and Flip 7 FE Full Specs Ahead of Launch, Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 to Ship With Android 16

0

Highlights

  • The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to feature a 6.5″ cover and an 8″ main display, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip and a 200MP main camera.
  • Flip 7 and Flip 7 FE may feature 6.9″ main displays and 4.1″ external screens.
  • All three foldables are rumoured to ship with Android 16 and Samsung’s new One UI 8, marking a shift from the brand’s usual software rollout strategy.

We’re just two days away from Samsung’s Unpacked event and a fresh leak has given us a pretty clear look at what to expect from the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7, and the more affordable Galaxy Flip 7 FE. This detailed leak comes from Roland Quandt (WinFuture) via his Bluesky account, and it includes spec sheets that seem to be pulled from official press materials.

image
Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7, and Flip 7 FE spec comparison. (Image credit – Roland Quandt of WinFuture)

Let’s start with the Galaxy Z Fold 7. According to the leak, the Fold 7 will be 8.9mm thick when folded and just 4.2mm when unfolded, making it impressively slim. More surprising is the weight, it’s said to be 216 grams, which actually makes it lighter than the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

The Fold 7 will feature a 6.5-inch cover display and an 8-inch main screen, and it’s powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. It’s also expected to pack a 200MP main camera, though other camera details weren’t mentioned. The battery remains at 4,000mAh, which some may find underwhelming for a foldable of this size. The leak doesn’t show a 1TB storage variant, but Quandt confirms it exists and will vary by region.

Now for the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Flip 7 FE. Both are said to feature 6.9-inch main displays and 4.1-inch external screens, which goes against earlier reports that suggested the Flip 7 FE would use an older design with a smaller outer display.

This new info could mean both clamshells are getting full-sized outer screens, which would be a bold move that could pressure Motorola’s Razr lineup. The Flip 7 FE is also rumoured to come in only black and white.

Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 To Come With Android 16

There’s a twist on the software front too. Another leak from @MysteryLupin on X (formerly Twitter) shows that all three foldables may ship with Android 16 out of the box.

image image image

This, if true, would make them the first devices to run Samsung’s new One UI 8. While this version is currently only available in beta, this leak suggests Samsung might be rolling it out officially through these new foldables. That would be a shift from Samsung’s usual approach, where major software updates debut on standard flagships.

The launch event is set for Wednesday, July 9th at 10 am ET. If you register early, you get a $50 credit, 3x reward points, potential savings up to $1,150, and a chance to win $5,000 in Samsung credit.

FAQs

Q1. What are the display sizes and processor details of the Galaxy Z Fold 7?

Answer. The Fold 7 will feature a 6.5-inch cover display and an 8-inch main screen, and it’s powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chip.

Q2. Will the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Flip 7 FE have the same outer display size?

Answer. Both are said to feature 6.9-inch main displays and 4.1-inch external screens, which goes against earlier reports that suggested the Flip 7 FE would use an older design.

Q3. What software will the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 series ship with?

Answer. All three foldables may ship with Android 16 out of the box. This leak suggests Samsung might be rolling it out officially through these new foldables.

Pixel 10 Pro Memory Variants May Again Start at 128GB Storage, Colour Options Revealed

0

Highlights

  • The Pixel 10 Pro may still start at 128GB, suggesting Google might stick with UFS 3.1 instead of upgrading to UFS 4.0.
  • Storage tiers are linked to specific colour options with Jade limited to 256GB, while Obsidian is the only one offering 1TB.
  • Pixel 10, 10 Pro, 10 Pro XL, and 10 Pro Fold launch is expected in August 2025.

New leak reveals key details about the upcoming Pixel 10 Pro. (Image credit – Google)

Some interesting updates are surfacing online about the Pixel 10 lineup and we are not sure how fans would receive this new information. A new leak suggests that the Pixel 10 Pro might still launch with a 128GB base storage, despite expectations for a bump in storage and speed. And that’s now all, it seems there is some correlation between storage and available colour options. Here’s what we know.

According to a recent Droid-Life report based on “distributor data,” Google’s upcoming Pixel 10 lineup will have some limitations when it comes to colour and storage options, especially for the Pro variant.

For the regular Pixel 10, all four colour options including Obsidian, Frost, Indigo and Lemongrass will be available with either 128GB or 256GB of storage.

The Pixel 10 Pro, however, will offer more storage tiers such as 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. But surprisingly, it still starts at 128GB, which hints that Google might continue using UFS 3.1 storage instead of upgrading to the faster UFS 4.0, which typically begins at 256GB.

The real twist comes with how storage options are linked to colour choices.

The Pixel 10 Pro will be available in Obsidian, Porcelain, Moonstone, and Jade, but not all colours support every storage tier. Obsidian, Porcelain, and Moonstone will get 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB options. Obsidian is the only one to offer the 1TB variant

The only standout colour is Jade and it will reportedly be limited to just the 256GB version

A similar restriction is said to apply to the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, where Jade is available only in 256GB and 512GB, while Moonstone also includes a 1TB model.

For clarity, here’s the full storage and colour breakdown as per the Droid-Life report –

Pixel 10

  • Obsidian – 128G / 256GB
  • Frost – 128G / 256GB
  • Indigo – 128G / 256GB
  • Lemongrass – 128G / 256GB

Pixel 10 Pro

  • Obsidian – 128GB / 256GB / 512GB / 1TB
  • Porcelain – 128GB / 256GB / 512GB
  • Moonstone – 128GB / 256GB / 512GB
  • Jade – 256GB

Pixel 10 Pro XL

  • Obsidian – 128GB / 256GB / 512GB / 1TB
  • Porcelain – 256GB / 512GB
  • Moonstone – 256GB / 512GB
  • Jade – 256GB

Pixel 10 Pro Fold

  • Moonstone – 256GB / 512GB / 1TB
  • Jade – 256GB / 512GB

This leak also casts doubt on an earlier rumour about a “Sterling” colour, which now seems unlikely. Although Moonstone colour variant still sounds like a greyish shade.

The Pixel 10 series is expected to launch in August, so we won’t have to wait long to see how this plays out.

FAQs

Q1. What is the base storage option for the Pixel 10 Pro?

Answer. The Pixel 10 Pro… will offer more storage tiers such as 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. But surprisingly, it still starts at 128GB.

Q2. Are all colour options available for every storage tier in the Pixel 10 Pro?

Answer. The Pixel 10 Pro will be available in Obsidian, Porcelain, Moonstone, and Jade, but not all colours support every storage tier.”

Q3. Which Pixel 10 Pro colour variant supports the 1TB storage option?

Answer. Obsidian is the only one to offer the 1TB variant.

iPhone 17 Lineup May Get Slimmer Bezels and Updated Dynamic Island UI, Says Leaker

0

Highlights

  • All iPhone 17 models including the base and Air variants are expected to feature slimmer bezels, unlike last year’s Pro-only update.
  • A redesigned Dynamic Island UI may debut across the lineup, though this claim is less certain and not yet corroborated by other sources.
  • Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 17, 17 Air, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max in about two months.

Apple is expected to unveil its iPhone 17 lineup in about two months including the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. And now, a new leak hints at two key changes coming to the screens of these upcoming models. Here’s what we know.

Thinner Bezels for All iPhone 17 Models

According to a post by leaker Digital Chat Station on Weibo, all iPhone 17 models and not just the Pro models will feature thinner bezels this year. That’s a big shift from last year, when Apple only trimmed the bezels on the iPhone 16 Pro models.

It makes sense, though. The standard iPhone 17 is rumoured to adopt the same 6.3-inch display that debuted on the iPhone 16 Pro, so naturally, slimmer bezels could come along with it. As for the new iPhone 17 Air, which will reportedly have a unique screen size, a sleek, modern look with reduced bezels would fit the bill.

Dynamic Island To Get a New Look

The second change mentioned in the leak is a bit more unclear. Digital Chat Station claims there’s a “new Dynamic Island UI” coming to the iPhone 17 series. But here’s where things get tricky.

While DCS has a solid track record for hardware leaks, they’re not known for software predictions. Since they’re referring to a UI change, it’s possible they’re guessing that new hardware tweaks to the Dynamic Island will be matched by a software update.

Earlier this year, the same leaker claimed that a smaller Dynamic Island could be coming to the iPhone 17 Pro Max, possibly suggesting some kind of redesign. But now, their latest post seems to imply that all models in the iPhone 17 lineup will get this updated Dynamic Island, which hasn’t been reported elsewhere.

So far, the thin bezel rumour seems highly likely, given the hardware changes in the base models. As for the Dynamic Island updates, it’s best to take them with a grain of salt for now. There’s still a lot we don’t know and Apple hasn’t confirmed anything yet.

Realme 15 Pro 5G – Fresh New Look and Colour Options

In the leaked render, the phone is seen in a silver finish, which could be the much-talked-about “Flowing Silver” variant. Reports also suggest the phone will be available in Silk Purple and Velvet Green colour options.

On the back, the Realme 15 Pro 5G features a dual-camera setup, arranged vertically in two separate rings. Next to them is a third circular cutout that houses the LED flash.

One of the labels on the camera island confirms a 50MP main sensor, although details about the secondary lens are still under wraps.

The front sports a flat display with slim bezels and a centred punch-hole camera. The volume and power buttons are placed on the left side of the frame. Since there’s no visible fingerprint reader, it’s likely that the sensor is embedded under the display.
