Apple is gearing up to unveil the iPhone 17 lineup next month featuring a redesigned camera island. But before the real thing arrives, a counterfeit version of the Pro model has already hit the market. The images now circulating on social media show a complete iPhone 17 Pro look with the same oversized camera island.

Famous tipster Sonny Dickson on X (formerly Twitter) has shared some images of a fake iPhone 17 Pro phone. One image shows the iPhone phone box with a black iPhone variant photo on top, the next one shows the back of the fake silver iPhone and the last one shows the front of the phone with the display on.

This fake iPhone 17 Pro runs on Android and mimics iOS 18 (last year’s version) rather than the upcoming iOS 26. Its design flaws are easy to spot. The display bezels aren’t symmetrical, the chin is noticeably wide and it appears to use an LCD panel instead of an AMOLED screen.
Surprisingly, the back design including the camera lenses is quite accurate, closely resembling renders of the genuine iPhone 17 Pro. Without placing it next to the real device, telling them apart could be tricky.
That’s why buyers should be cautious when purchasing an iPhone or any premium Android phone from unofficial sources, particularly when the price seems too good to be true.
The authentic iPhone 17 Pro is expected to bring notable camera upgrades with the selfie camera jumping from 12MP to 24MP and the 5x telephoto lens going from 12MP to 48MP. The main camera, however, is likely to stay the same with no change in sensor size or resolution.
Under the hood, Apple’s new A19 Pro chipset will deliver better performance, improved thermal management, and longer battery life. Leaks also suggest 12GB of RAM will come standard, up from last year’s 8GB.
