JBL has officially entered the children’s audio market with a new pair of open-ear true wireless (TWS) earbuds designed for young listeners. The launch of the JBL Junior Free aims to provide a safe, comfortable, and fun listening experience for kids while giving parents better control over audio usage.
The JBL Junior Free has been announced in Europe with a price tag of €69.99. The earbuds come in three bright colour options, which include Purple, Teal, and Peach. All colours are specifically picked as these are appealing to kids’ playful preferences.

Known for its strong bass-driven audio products, JBL has taken a different approach with the Junior Free. These earbuds feature a built-in volume limiter that caps the sound output at 85 decibels, ensuring safe listening levels to protect children’s hearing. The open-ear design also allows kids to remain aware of their surroundings while enjoying their music or learning content.
JBL has added parental monitoring features through the JBL Headphones app, giving parents the ability to track listening duration and volume levels. The app can also be used to manage and control these settings remotely, ensuring children maintain healthy audio habits.
On a full charge, the JBL Junior Free delivers up to 10 hours of playback, while a 10-minute quick charge provides an additional 3 hours of listening time, ideal for on-the-go use.
The earbuds also come with an IPX4 rating for splash resistance, making them durable for everyday activities. JBL has opted for physical buttons instead of touch controls, making it easier for kids to operate. To ensure a secure and comfortable fit, the Junior Free includes a looped headband design that wraps around the child’s head.
