iQOO X Concept Phone Packs 15,000mAh Battery, 240Hz Display and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 10 Pro Chipset

Highlights

  • iQOO X is a concept phone featuring Qualcomm’s future Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen10 Pro chip paired with a QX e-sports chip.
  • It packs a 15,000mAh Battery, a 7-inch 2K+ LTPO 240Hz display with AI dynamic partition refresh, and a triple camera setup with 200MP + 200MP periscope + 50MP ultra-wide sensor.
  • The prototypes were displayed with pricing: starts at ¥6,999 (~$1,038) for 12GB+512GB, going up to ¥8,599 (~$1,275) for 24GB+1TB.

iQOO appears to be looking well beyond consumer tech and getting into some experimental concept devices. Reports have revealed that an experimental phone called the iQOO X was demonstrated internally by the company. Here are all the details.

The key specification of the concept smartphone is Qualcomm’s yet-to-arrive Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen10 Pro processor. This chipset choice suggests that the iQOO X is not intended to represent an upcoming commercial smartphone but rather serves as a showcase of what the company could achieve several generations from now. iQOO has also paired the chipset with its own QX e-sports chip.

For context, Qualcomm is currently working towards the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro for its next flagship platform putting the Gen10 Pro named for this concept considerably further into the future.

Battery technology is another area where iQOO is pushing the limits. The iQOO X is equipped with a 15,000mAh all-solid-state battery referred to as the “Blue Ice Battery.” Such a large-capacity solid-state battery is not currently found in smartphones available on the market, making it one of the more experimental elements of the concept.

The display is equally ambitious. iQOO has fitted the X with a 7-inch true full-screen LTPO 6.0 panel offering 2K+ resolution and a 240Hz refresh rate. A half-screen ultrasonic fingerprint sensor is integrated into the display, while the panel supports a 4,800Hz sampling rate for faster touch response. The screen also incorporates AI dynamic partition refresh, a technology that enables separate areas of the display to refresh independently rather than updating the entire panel at the same time.

Photography is handled by a triple-camera system consisting of a 200MP Sony primary sensor, a 200MP Samsung periscope telephoto camera and a 50MP Samsung ultra-wide sensor. Beyond sharing specifications, iQOO reportedly displayed physical prototypes of the device at the event.

These prototypes provide a better indication of how the company’s ideas for the phone’s physical design and construction could translate from specifications into an actual device.

iQOO X Price and Variants

The iQOO X has been shown in two colour options including Black and White.

Interestingly, iQOO has even attached prices to the different configurations of its concept smartphone, despite such devices usually being presented without any pricing information.

The entry-level version combines 12GB of RAM with 512GB of storage and is priced at ¥6,999, equivalent to around $1,038. Moving up, the 16GB+512GB variant costs ¥7,399 (about $1,097), while the 16GB+1TB model is priced at ¥7,799 (roughly $1,157).

The most expensive configuration offers 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage for ¥8,599, or close to $1,275.
