iQOO could be preparing to expand its flagship lineup with the launch of the iQOO 16 and a new compact tablet next month. Here’s what we know about both the devices so far.
iQOO 16 and Mini Tablet Launch Timeline
According to a fresh update from tipster Digital Chat Station, both iQOO 16 and a mini iQOO tablet are expected to debut in September. They are also tipped to be among the first products to use Qualcomm’s sixth-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite chipsets.
iQOO has not officially confirmed either device yet, so the reported September launch timeline should be considered a rumour for now.
However, the repeated leaks surrounding the chipset, displays, camera systems and designs suggest that the iQOO 16 and the new tablet could be approaching their launch.
iQOO 16 – Expected Specifications
Digital Chat Station had previously revealed several details about the iQOO 16. The smartphone is expected to feature a 6.85-inch 2K+ display with a 165Hz refresh rate. The panel is reportedly based on next-generation Samsung display technology and will use a flat design.
The iQOO 16 could also receive a redesigned rear panel that is tipped to feature a small square-shaped camera module positioned in the upper-left corner.
The primary camera could be a 50-megapixel sensor with a 1/1.3-inch sensor size and an F1.68 aperture. It may be accompanied by a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera with an F2.0 aperture. A 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera is also expected with a larger 1/1.95-inch sensor and an F2.65 aperture.
iQOO Mini Tablet Could Feature Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6
Like the iQOO 16, the tablet is said to use Qualcomm’s sixth-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite processor.
The upcoming iQOO tablet could feature a 2.8K OLED display with a high refresh rate and slim bezels. It is also expected to have a metal unibody construction, giving it a premium design.
The tablet could feature a square camera module on the rear as well. Interestingly, the camera section is also rumoured to house a built-in cooling fan to help improve thermal management during demanding tasks.
