Infinix Note 40 Pro 5G: Unboxing Experience

The Note 40 Pro 5G series packs in a premium unboxing experience, showing Infinix’s commitment pack in accessories that other OEMs deem unnecessary.

In my review kit, I was given the MagCase, MagPad, and MagPower wireless charging accessories, which I will talk about later in the review, neatly packaged alongside the device, offering a glimpse into the series’ innovative charging ecosystem.

Looking at it from the outside, it is clear that the Infinix Note 40 Pro, marks a significant shift towards the mid-range sector, aiming to rival established players like Realme and Xiaomi.

Its design draws inspiration from the previous Infinix Zero 5G, featuring a vegan leather back that not only looks sophisticated but feels premium in hand.

The device comes in three color options: Vintage Green, Obsidian Black, and Cityscape Golden, each reflecting the vibrancy of city life.

The golden camera island is nondescript in its appearance and gels well with the overall exterior.

Despite its robust features, including a 6,000mAh battery, the Note 40 Pro feels surprisingly light, a testament to Infinix’s engineering.

The 6.78-inch 3D curved AMOLED display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, ensuring durability.

With a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling and FHD+ resolution for clear visuals, the display is designed for an immersive experience.

Unique to this model is the Active Halo lighting system, offering customizable lighting effects that adjust to various usage scenarios, adding an extra layer of interaction.

Infinix Note 40 Pro 5G: Cameras

For the Infinix Note 40 Pro 5G series, the camera setup is a significant highlight, featuring a 108MP OIS triple rear camera arrangement.

This powerhouse of a camera didn’t just deliver; it surpassed my expectations, particularly with its rapid focus and shutter speeds during my daytime photography adventures.

The dynamic range was noteworthy, producing shots that were not only vibrant but also exhibited a well-balanced composition.

Although the colours were a bit on the saturated side, they added a lively touch to the images.

A setback was the lack of camera versatility with just a 2MP macro camera that sometimes struggled with accurate colour temperatures and sharpness.

The 2MP depth sensor serves no purpose as software enhancements effectively manage subject-background separation without the need for a dedicated sensor.

In darker environments, the Note 40 Pro 5G series stood its ground admirably.

The advanced night mode, boosted by AI scene detection, intelligently illuminated my shots, although focusing could be a tad slower.

The 3x lossless zoom allowed for detailed captures even from afar, enriching the photography experience.

The 32MP front-facing camera consistently delivered high-quality selfies, making it a dependable tool for video calls and self-portraits.

The Cinematic Bokeh mode had its moments, but overall, portrait shots were impressive.

With additional functionalities like Portrait Mode, Sky Remap, and the Dual Video Vlog Clipper, the Infinix Note 40 Pro 5G series offers a comprehensive and creative camera experience, standing out in the realm of mid-range smartphones although its lack of an ultra-wide sensor leaves a sour taste.

Infinix Note 40 Pro 5G: Performance

Delving into the performance of the Infinix Note 40 Pro 5G series the device is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7020 5G.

Despite not being the absolute peak of chipset performance, it impresses with flagship-level efficiency and reliability.

My evaluation reflected its strong performance, with benchmark outcomes placing it comfortably in the high-performing category, a notable achievement for its price range.

The Note 40 Pro series managed to handle stress tests admirably, maintaining about 85% of its peak performance during intensive usage, which speaks volumes about its stability and efficiency.

This robust performance is further enhanced by Memory Fusion technology, allowing the extension of RAM up to 16GB for the Note 40 Pro.

User interface fluidity was exceptional, benefiting significantly from the 120Hz display refresh rate, making every interaction feel smoother.

However, for the gaming enthusiasts among us, setting high-demand games to medium graphics was necessary for me to maintain a stable 60fps gameplay.

However, the Infinix Note 40 Pro 5G series some gaming-centric enhancements, including XBOOST frame rate control and a wide-band X-Axis linear motor, providing an immersive gaming experience with precise haptic feedback and tailored touch responsiveness.

Although the series would benefit from stereo speakers for a more immersive audio experience, its current JBL-tune setup delivers clear and robust sound quality, enhancing the overall user experience.

There’s an in-display fingerprint sensor on offer which does its job well enough.

Finally, the reliable 5G connectivity ensured seamless online gaming and streaming during my tests.

The Infinix Note 40 Pro 5G series runs on XOS 14 which is based on Android 14.

It delivers a streamlined and user-friendly interface.

This operating system is rich in features that bolster both usability and customisation, making it a pleasure to navigate.

Its fluid animations, diverse themes, and widgets create an environment that’s both intuitive and visually appealing.

However, XOS 14 falls doesn’t keep the interface free from clutter, falling prey to the significant issues of bloatware.

Infinix is offering 2 Major Android Upgrade + 3 yrs. Security Patch update for the device.

Transitioning to the device’s battery capabilities, the handset is outfitted with All-Round FastCharge 2.0 technology, supporting an impressive array of charging options.

This includes ultra-fast wired and wireless charging, along with reverse charging capabilities, setting a new standard in the segment.

The battery capacity of 5,000mAh is pretty standard now in this segment.

The 45W fast-charging, while not the fastest, reduces downtime, a convenience that was evident during my testing.

Also the provided accessories for wireless charging seamlessly complement the device, with the included case ensuring compatibility and efficiency.

You get up to 20W of charging speeds on the setup which will juice up the battery in about two hours.

The Infinix Note 40 Pro 5G range is a mid-range marvel that punches above its weight.

It combines cutting-edge innovations like the All-Round FastCharge 2.0 with robust performance from the MediaTek Dimensity 7020 chipset and Memory Fusion technology.

Creative flourishes like the interactive Active Halo lighting and the MagCase wireless charging ecosystem further amplify the premium experience.

While not perfect, with some compromises expected, the Note 40 Pro 5G lineup delivers an impressive blend of performance, features, and affordability.

For buyers seeking a feature-packed smartphone experience without breaking the bank, Infinix’s latest has plenty of appeal.
