Infinix Hot 30i comes in a standard green-blue retail box with Infinix branding and product details mentioned on all sides.

The top of the box clearly highlights the most significant features of the smartphone such as the 128GB internal storage, 16GB expandable RAM and 50-megapixel Dual AI Camera.

As we open the retail box, on top we get the neatly tucked Infinix Hot 30i smartphone itself on the top.

Apart from the smartphone, the retail box includes usb cable, charging dock, SIM ejecting tool, Infinix paperwork, user manual, and a TPU back cover for initial use.

Infinix Hot 30i Design and Build

Infinix Hot 30i comes in a stylish look and feel. The back looks very eye-catchy and the boxy design reacts to the light, making it appear shiny at times and matt otherwise. The good thing is that smartphone’s body finish doesn’t attract any fingerprints or smudges.

Dual camera setup on the back with flash and at the bottom we see all the ports. There’s a headphone jack, a USB-C port and a single speaker.

The smartphone is quite slim with flat size and it provides a really good grip in your hand. There’s a side capacity fingerprint scanner that also works as a standby button. It’s pretty fast responsive and works really well.

As you open the box of the Infinix Hot 30i, you’ll be greeted with a sleek and stylish smartphone. The first thing you’ll notice is the large 6.6 inches IPS LCD display that offers immersive visuals with its 720 x 1612 pixels resolution and 267ppi pixel density.

The colour reporter action is pretty good, vibrant and crisp. The display comes with 500 nits of peak brightness, which might not sound a lot on the specification sheet but we briefly used it outdoors and it was very much visible.

You can spot the teardrop notch on the top, which houses the 5-megapixel front camera. The 90 Hertz refresh rate is a breeze and makes everyday scrolling and general navigating a lot more smoother.

We streamed some content on Hot 30i to test the display performance and were quite impressed with what the smartphone has to offer. It was quite clear and fun to watch while the display goes edge to edge.

It has the White Wine L3 Certification and so streaming apps such as Netflix and Prime Videos will stream at 540p. Again, this might not mean anything much on paper, but it’s good enough for a phone in this price range.

As for YouTube, it will stream up to full HD without any problem.

Infinix Hot 30i Performance

Infinix Hot 30i comes with the MediaTek Helio G37 chipset. Now there’s nothing to rave about it as this is a pretty basic hardware and can handle day-to-day tasks really well.

The good thing is that Infinix has equipped this smartphone with a massive 8GB LP DDR4X RAM with additional support to expand it further by 8GB, giving it a total of 16 GB RAM. This is great for multitasking and the best part is it keeps most of your often-used apps still in memory.

We also get 128 GB internal storage, which is EMMC storage and it’s good enough to save tons of media files without any issues.

Infinix Hot 30i runs on Android 12 out of the box and comes with xos UI. It’s nice with boxy icons and overall quite smooth in general operation.

We do, however, see some bloatware apps such as v-sharp player and x-club. And the downside is that we can’t delete these unwanted apps, which is a little disappointing.

Although you can game on this phone we would strictly recommend you stick to basic gaming such as Candy Crush or Temple Run. Any high graphic games are clear no for Infinix Hot 30i.

Overall, if you want a smartphone for WhatsApp, for social media apps, for emails and light gaming, then the performance of Infinix Hot 30i is more than adequate in every aspect.

Infinix Hot 30i Camera

As for the camera, it is definitely very impressive for a budget smartphone. We tried to take some pictures using the 50-megapixel dual AI rear sensor and had nothing to complain about the results. Some of this camera’s basic settings are HDR Mode, Digital Zoom, Continuous Shooting Mode, Face Detection and Touch to Focus.

We got good colour reproduction and there were details in the shadow that was clearly visible. Also, the camera offers an impressive dynamic range while the picture clarity is genuinely good.

You can record full high-definition videos of up to 30 FPS using the rear sensors.

The front 5-megapixel camera gives selfies that are clear and crisp. In fact, you can even use AR feature to make your selfies even more fun. The front camera too can record at full high definition 30 FPS, which is really good for a smartphone of this price range.

Infinix Hot 30i Battery

Battery backup is where Infinix Hot 30i scores well and compensates for any other minor shortcomings that one might have noticed to complain about. This smartphone comes with a massive 5000mAh battery, which easily lasts one and a half to two days with media use.

Another positive is that see we get a USB-C port on this budget phone and that’s great considering there are many smartphones still getting launched with micro USB ports. It’s great that Infinix has chosen USB-C.

It is accompanied by an 18-watt charger that should not take more than two to three hours to fully charge from 0 to 100 per cent.

Overall, the Infinix Hot 30i is a real value-for-money smartphone. Rs 8,999 for an 8 GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage variant could be the only reason to pick this up. But you also get a 90Hertz refresh rate and an impressive 50-megapixel camera on top of that.
The 5000mAh battery with an 18-watt charger provides perfect support to ensure a perfect everyday smartphone experience.
