• The exclusive first look indicates the launch soon .
Huawei Mate X was the first foldable phone by Huawei which was launched back in 2019.
A few months ago, there was news that the company is reportedly working on the worlds first tri-foldable phone .
There’s no confirmation from Huawei about it.
The company’s former CEO Richard Yu, currently serving as the Chairman of Huawei’s Board of Directors of the Consumer BG, was spotted using it & holding it in his hand which is being circulated on all social media platforms in China.
The image has Huawei’s tri-folding device with a centered punch-hole for the selfie camera on the left.
The device shows two creases because of two hinges instead of one we see on regular folding smartphones .
Yu was scrolling quickly through the screen on the airplane.
Seeing the content it seemed Yu was using the WeChat app.
In the image a three line screen was seen with a message list on the left & a web page on the right .
In one of the recent Weibo posts, tipster Digital Chat Station said that he has seen a prototype of the world’s first tri-foldable phone, he said that the device Yu was seen with looks similar to the R& D prototype they had seen before.
He further added that the screen is expected about 10” & the phone will have a premium price .
He said that device will feature Kirin 9-series chipset.
This device features both an inward and outward fold with a dual-hinge mechanism.
The thickness of the device seemed more which is quite obvious .
DCS said this tri-folding phone would go official before Mate 70.
The reports show Mate 70 series will not launch until Q4 2024 so according to that Huawei’s tri-foldable phone may be come by September or October too .
A recent news by the Weibo tipster Bad Review Emperor (via Huawei Central) claims about the tri-folding device that the tri-folding display of the phone has passed the 28μm test.
The test shows the durability and visibility of the crease formed on the screen after repeated folding.
The “28μm” (28 micrometers) measurement shows the depth of the crease that the screen develops after a certain number of folds.
According to the Weibo tipster, this means it’ll be able to run “PC-level applications”, potentially combining the lines between phone, tablet and laptop.
It shows a tri-folding phone with two hinges and a flexible screen that folds outwards.
The phone according to recent reports has the potential to replace tablets and book-style foldables.
