In this exclusive interview, Vineet Gehani, Senior Director – Personal Systems, HP India, sheds light on HP’s latest advancements in AI-enhanced computing.
The discussion focuses on HP’s recent launch of two innovative products: the EliteBook Ultra and the OmniBook X.
These AI-powered PCs are designed to cater to business professionals and consumers, respectively.
Gehani elaborates on HP’s strategic decision to integrate ARM chipsets from Qualcomm, highlighting the improved performance-to-power ratio and extended battery life.
He also addresses the competitive landscape, emphasizing HP’s strong market position and diverse portfolio.
Gehani envisions a bright future for HP’s AI-driven PCs, underscoring the importance of robust partnerships and continuous innovation.
Vineet Gehani: HP has the widest range of PC products available in the market across the industry.
We’ve been working on enhancements on the AI platform, integrating them into our products.
Just three to four months ago, we launched a range of AI-enhanced PCs.
Today, we are bringing to market our full AI PC portfolio with two new products: the EliteBook Ultra, meant for business and professional users, and the OmniBook X, meant for consumers.
These are fully loaded AI PCs.
Vineet Gehani: The decision stems from Qualcomm’s legacy in mobile platforms and their extension into the PC platform.
It’s an exciting time for Qualcomm, and we have a great partnership with them.
With Qualcomm’s capabilities, Microsoft’s CoPilot Plus PCs, and HP’s solutions, we bring together a comprehensive ecosystem.
This includes the HP AI PC Companion, additional security features, and enhanced audio-video capabilities from the Poly Camera Pro and the Poly Studio.
Vineet Gehani: These new devices offer enhanced experiences and new use cases for both business and consumer users.
They are more powerful and optimized for performance, with features like a 26-hour battery life.
This means users can get more out of their PCs without compromising on power, usage, or battery longevity.
Additionally, with HP SmartSense technology optimizing battery life, customers on the go can use their devices for longer periods without needing to recharge.
In India, we have consistently held a 31-32% market share, which has only grown over the years.
We see competition and consumer choice as positive for the market.
Our focus is on offering the widest portfolio, providing all the choices consumers want, and integrating the best silicon and software options into HP-powered PCs.
We are confident that HP’s offerings continue to be the best, and we will keep expanding our portfolio to meet consumer and business needs.
The future is very bright and exciting, particularly with the transformation driven by AI on PCs and edge computing.
To answer your question, no one is being abandoned.
All our partners, including Intel, continue to participate in this opportunity.
Our goal is to offer more to users and meet the evolving demands of consumers and business users.
We will maintain strong partnerships across the ecosystem, ensuring we deliver the best experiences for our customers.
HP has launched the EliteBook Ultra for business professionals and the OmniBook X for consumers, both featuring advanced AI capabilities.
HP selected Qualcomm ARM chipsets for their legacy in mobile platforms and excellent performance-to-power ratio, enhancing overall device efficiency.
Users can expect significant improvements, including up to 26-hour battery life and optimized performance with HP SmartSense technology.
HP plans to compete by offering a wide portfolio of products, integrating the best silicon and software options, and leveraging its strong market position with continuous innovation.
Yes, HP will maintain strong partnerships with Intel and other ecosystem partners, ensuring a diverse range of options to meet consumer and business needs.
