Many of us tend to forget passwords and forgetting your important ID such as Apple ID poses challenges to you. Apple ID is the gateway to iCloud, devices, and more. So, forgetting it means you could be deprived of access to your essential personal and even professional information.

Apple ID is equivalent to Google account information that is needed almost everywhere. If you are an Apple device owner and unfortunately forgot your Apple ID, no need to be bothered. You can reset it by following these steps:

Reset your password through your own device

Step 1: You need to open the Settings option on your iPhone or iPad.

Step 2: Tap your name, password, and security option.

Step 3: Select the Change Password option.

Step 4: You will be prompted to enter the passcode for your device if you are signed in to iCloud and have a passcode enabled.

Step 5: You need to follow the onscreen steps to update your password.

Apple ID password on Mac or MacBook

If you have a Mac PC or a MacBook, you need to follow these steps to reset your Apple ID.

Step 1: Select the Apple menu available on the top.

Step 2: You need to click on the Apple ID after going to System Preferences.

Step 3: Now you need to click the Password and Security option.

Step 4: You need to click on “Forgot Apple ID or password” if you are asked to enter your Apple ID password.

Step 5: Follow the online screen option and click the Change Password option.

Step 6: Create the password you use to unlock your Mac and you are done with your task.

In addition to the above, Apple device owner can try these ways to reset their Apple ID password

Step 1: Visit the iforgot.apple.com

Step 2: Enter your Apple ID and choose the reset your password option and select the Continue option.

Step 3: Choose to answer your security questions. After this, you will get an email with all the details. Alternatively, you can enter your recovery key.

Step 5: And, follow the onscreen steps to reset your password.
