Without so much as a press release, Chinese smartphone giant Honor has basically upgraded its mid-range lineup with a new offering called the Honor X9b.
The introduction comes via its Saudi Arabian website and there is no word as now where else on the global market the device will land.
What isn’t in doubt is that the new X9b 5G comes as an upgrade to the existing Honor X9a, a device revealed in the same market earlier this year.
While the pricing and availability details are still under wraps, the Honor X9b 5G has under its belt a series of features and specifications that surely make it a contender to look at twice.
The Honor X9b’s most notable feature is its curved 6.78-inch AMOLED display, boasting a resolution of 1200 x 2652 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate.
The display’s high brightness levels of up to 1200nits are likely to ensure clear visibility in various lighting conditions.
The device also has another interesting feature which is the 5-fold eye protection technology.
It combines 1920Hz PWM dimming and low-blue light display capabilities that is boon for a comfortable viewing experience.
Under the hood, the device runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC, backed by either 8GB or 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
On the software front, the Honor X9b operates on Android 13, customized with Honor’s MagicOS 7.2.
For those interested in photography, the device houses a 108MP primary rear camera, supplemented by a 5MP ultra-wide sensor and a 2MP macro sensor.
A 16MP front camera handles selfie and video-calling duties.
A rather sizable 5,800mAh battery powers the device, supported by 35W fast charging to ensure prolonged usage.
When it comes to connectivity, the phone supports 5G and offers a variety of other options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.1, and NFC.
It also comes with a fingerprint sensor for added security.
