Honor Earbuds 5e – Key Features

Alongside the smartphone, Honor unveiled the Earbuds 5e in China. The earbuds feature a semi-in-ear design with stems and weigh around 4 grams each. They carry an IP54 rating for resistance against dust and water splashes.
The Earbuds 5e are equipped with 12mm dynamic drivers featuring diamond-like carbon diaphragms. According to the company, this material offers greater rigidity than conventional titanium or gold coatings helping reduce audio distortion. The earbuds support the LHDC 5.0 codec and are Hi-Res Audio certified enabling 24-bit audio transmission.
For noise reduction, the earbuds feature adaptive active noise cancellation that automatically adjusts according to surrounding conditions. Honor claims the system can reduce noise by up to 52dB at its peak and delivers an average reduction of 28dB across various frequencies.
Each earbud includes three microphones that use AI-based algorithms to suppress background noise during calls. The system also supports wind noise reduction at speeds of up to 6m/s.
Honor claims the Earbuds 5e can deliver up to nine hours of playback on a single charge with active noise cancellation turned off. Combined with the 550mAh USB Type-C charging case, total battery life can reach up to 45 hours. When ANC is enabled, battery life drops to 5.5 hours on the earbuds and up to 28 hours with the charging case. Fast charging support is also included, with a 10-minute charge providing approximately three hours of listening time.
The earbuds come with several software-driven features although some advanced functions require a compatible Honor smartphone. These include AI-powered translation supporting 15 languages and a meeting assistant capable of transcribing and translating recordings.
Other features include touch and swipe controls, wear detection for automatic music pause and resume, and dual-device connectivity that allows simultaneous connection to a smartphone and a computer.
