Honor has officially launched its latest foldable smartphone, the Honor Magic V Flip 2, in China. The new clamshell-style foldable arrives as the successor to last year’s Magic V Flip and brings significant upgrades, including a larger 5,500mAh battery, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, and enhanced durability with IP58 and IP59 ratings. The Honor Magic V Flip 2 price in China starts at CNY 5,499 (approx. Rs. 66,900) for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant. The 12GB + 512GB model is priced at CNY 5,999 (approx. Rs. 73,000), while the 12GB + 1TB version costs CNY 6,499 (approx. Rs. 79,100). The top-end 16GB + 1TB configuration comes in at CNY 7,499 (approx. Rs. 91,300).
The foldable phone is already available for preorders via the Honor e-store and select e-commerce platforms.
Colour options include Dawn Purple, Dream Weaver Blue, Moon Shadow White, and Titanium Air Grey (translated from Chinese).
The handset will officially go on sale in China starting August 28.
The Magic V Flip 2 sports a 6.82-inch Full-HD+ (1,232×2,868 pixels) LTPO OLED foldable inner display with up to 120Hz refresh rate, 4,320Hz ultra-high frequency PWM dimming, and an impressive 5,000 nits peak brightness. On the outside, it features a 4-inch LTPO OLED cover screen with a 1,200×1,092 pixels resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 3,840Hz PWM dimming, and up to 3,600 nits peak brightness.
In terms of design and build, the device measures 167.1×86.5×6.9mm when unfolded and weighs 193g.
Under the hood, the device runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, coupled with up to 16GB LPDDR5x RAM and 1TB UFS 4.0 storage. It ships with Android 15-based MagicOS 9.0.1 out of the box.
For optics, the foldable houses a 200MP primary camera with OIS, alongside a 50MP ultrawide lens on the back. On the inside, users get a 50MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. Both inner and outer cameras support 4K video recording.
One of its biggest highlights is the 5,500mAh battery, the largest yet in an Honor clamshell foldable. It supports 80W wired fast charging, 50W wireless charging, and 7.5W reverse wireless charging.
Connectivity options include 5G, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. For security, the phone carries a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The Honor Magic V Flip 2 also boasts IP58 and IP59 ratings for dust and water resistance.
