The latest is Google Search reminding us what we searched the most in the year 2024.
In a blog post, Google has unveiled its usual annual report highlighting the year’s most-searched topics. From major sports events and political moments to pop culture hits and travel hotspots, Google’s list includes some of the major events that grabbed global attention this year.

Sports dominated Google’s 2024 search trends with Copa América and the UEFA European Championship leading the way. Cricket was another major draw with the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup and the India vs. England rivalry driving interest.
Liam Payne also made waves in sports-related searches thanks to his association with high-profile events.
Global events like the US Election, Hurricane Milton and extreme heatwaves were among the most searched topics. The Olympics further fueled curiosity as people engaged with key moments from the games.

In entertainment, Inside Out 2 topped movie-related searches, followed by Deadpool & Wolverine, Saltburn, and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.
Music trends were led by tracks like “Not Like Us” by Kendrick Lamar and “APT.” by Rosé and Bruno Mars. Other artists such as Diddy, Usher, Linkin Park, Sabrina Carpenter and Justin Timberlake also made waves.
Hollywood personalities like Katt Williams, Pawan Kalyan, Adam Brody, Ella Purnell and Hina Khan captured attention in the entertainment world.
Athletes such as Imane Khelif, Mike Tyson, Lamine Yamal, Simone Biles and Jake Paul were among the top-searched sports personalities. Popular sports teams included the New York Yankees, Los Angeles Dodgers, Inter Miami CF, Bayer 04 Leverkusen and Boston Celtics.
Google Maps searches revealed the world’s top travel spots with Central Park, The British Museum and the Arena di Verona ranking among the most-searched destinations globally.
