Google is gearing up to bring its Gemini AI assistant to even more devices by the end of 2025. During Alphabet’s Q1 2025 earnings call, the company announced that Gemini will soon power cars, smartwatches, headphones and tablets, showing Google’s big push to make AI a bigger part of everyday life.

Gemini AI’s Big Expansion

Gemini, which has already taken over from Google Assistant on Android phones, will soon make its way to platforms like Android Auto, Wear OS smartwatches and connected headphones.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai confirmed the news, saying, “We’re upgrading Google Assistant on mobile devices to Gemini, and later this year we’ll upgrade tablets, cars, and devices that connect to your phone, such as headphones and watches.”

The idea is to make devices smarter and faster. For example, Wear OS smartwatches will get better fitness tracking, smoother notifications, and improved voice controls. Meanwhile, Android Auto users can look forward to a more intuitive and helpful driving experience.

Android Police, in one of its recent reports, noted, Code found in the Google beta app suggests that Gemini will come to Wear OS as a “wearable” assistant, supposedly as an update to the existing Assistant app. The company could bring Gemini to its smartwatches through an app update and then further deepen the integration with Wear OS 6’s release. Similarly, code strings found in a recent release of Google Assistant for Android Automotive indicate that Google is working hard on porting Gemini to its car platform.”

When to Expect the Rollout?

While Google hasn’t shared exact dates yet, the rollout is expected to start later this year. We’ll likely hear more details at the upcoming Google I/O conference in May. This move clearly shows Google’s ambition to make Gemini the central AI engine across all its products. As of now, Google I/O scheduled from May 20th to 21st, 2025.
