The idea of digitising every part of your life is scary but with the way AI advancements are moving ahead, we all it is going to be unavoidable.
The convenience and functionality features are too beneficial to pass.
Google is one of the tech giants that has never shied away from joining tech revolutions.
The latest now is Google allowing its users to turn any document into a digital pass using Google Wallet along with some help from AI.
Here’s the complete story and a step-by-step guide on how you can now turn any document into a digital pass.
Digital passes are super handy, but they don’t work for everything. Now, thanks to AI, Google Wallet can turn almost any document into a digital pass.
This new feature, called the “Everything else” option, is now rolling out via the Google Wallet app.
Announced in May and showing up a few weeks ago, it’s currently available to some users, especially those with Pixel devices.
It is important to note that the new feature doesn’t seem to be available on Samsung devices yet.
When creating a pass, you can change its type and use an “other” category if it doesn’t fit any preset options.
The details you can add will vary depending on the category you choose.
Google clarifies in a disclaimer on the pass page that these passes are created by the device owner with a note stating – “created by the device owner.”
As for more sensitive documents, a larger disclaimer is included on the pass page.
The photo you use to make the pass will also be attached to it.
Similar to the previous Google Wallet feature called a loyalty card, this appears in your Wallet as well.
It can also be scanned by barcode scanners and more, if compatible.
