A significant upgrade is the reduction in bezel size, with both models featuring 4.5mm bezels, down from 5.5mm on the Pixel Watch 2.
The displays will also be brighter, with 2,000-nit screens on both sizes, doubling the brightness of the previous model.
The Pixel Watch 3 will include Ultra-Wideband (UWB) support, potentially enabling precise device finding and Digital Car Key functionality.
New colour options will be available, including a Rose Quartz variant that may complement the rumoured pink Pixel 9 Pro.
Both sizes will continue to use the Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 platform with a custom co-processor, similar to the Pixel Watch 2.
This suggests that while there may be some optimizations, significant performance leaps are unlikely.
The reduced bezels and brighter display should contribute to an improved user experience, addressing one of the main criticisms of previous models.
The addition of a larger size option also caters to users who prefer a bigger watch face.
The continued development of the Pixel Watch line demonstrates Google’s commitment to the wearable market.
As the company refines its hardware and integrates it more closely with its software ecosystem, we may see more innovative features in future iterations that leverage Google’s strengths in AI and data processing.
